Welcome to the Official Vent Blog!
Mods are here to help anyone with suicidal depression, or just depression in general. Hell, you don’t need to have depression, you can just be feeling real down, and want to talk to someone. We’re here to help . There was an attempted suicide recently, and that was kinda the last straw for me. I know there’s probably a couple out there, but this blog is ALWAYS active, we’ve got a diverse mod group (Only three atm, but hey, come on, cut us some slack), and we just want to help you out. The blog is, once again, mainly for people who are suicidal, but if you just need a friend or something, we’re glad to help. Mod requests are open, I want at least 6 right now. All asks sent to the blog will be answered privately, unless otherwise asked, assuming they aren’t anonymous. We also keep the identities of the people who ask for help anonymous, so there’s no need to go on anon, we won’t tell. I hope you like the blog. -Mod Aquagirl

Mainstream feminism: Liberal or Conservative?
I, like a good number of anti-SJWs, consider myself liberal. I believe both government and business need to be adjusted in whatever way possible to provide for the best realistic outcome. Liberalism in the United States, in recent memory, combined the egalitarian nature of the labor movement and the liberty, free speech, and capitalistic approach of the classical liberals.
NOTE: There’s going to be oversimplifications in this post. The intention is to highlight similarities between the authoritarian right and the authoritarian left.
Modern feminism goes against everything both the classical liberal movement, now most closely emulated by libertarians, and the modern liberal movement stand for.
Horseshoe theory is something I’ve talked about before - the idea that the far-left and far-right more closely resemble eachother rather than being farthest away from eachother. Of course, libertarianism and authoritarianism must be taken into account ~ the libertarian right and libertarian left both generally oppose the toxicity of modern feminism.
In the American tradition, the right wing would be viewed from the point of view of a liberal such as myself as authoritarian. Traditionally, it has appealed to unifying forces such as respect of the traditional family, organized religion, and the importance of order and giving up certain freedoms to enable what they view as a stable society - for example, the American authoritarian right has been at the forefront of “anti-obscenity” campaigns, aimed at porn, swearing, “deviant” ideas, and essentially anything that could be considered controversial.
Here’s a list of issues to see how they compare - apologies for oversimplification, but the general points are intended to best reflect the mainstream view of the various ideologies and movements.
Freedom of Speech
Liberalism: Argues that freedom of speech is essential and applies to ALL groups, even hateful or controversial ones
Authoritarian right: Has traditionally freedom of speech as something that requires curtailing, such as the widespread suspicion of sex education and the banning of books in schools that have “controversial” content (like banning Harry Potter for ‘encouraging children to do witchcraft’)
SJWs: Also seek to curtail freedom of speech - known for attempting to shut down comedians for content they deem offensive. Sex-negative feminists, which seem to compose the most vocal element in the current movement, also find porn to be immoral and abusive, similar to the authoritarian right.
LGBT rights
Liberalism: Sees transgenderism and LGB sexualities as explainable by applied science, and supports equal protections.
Authoritarian right: Believe transgenderism and non-hetero sexualities are a choice.
SJWs: Despite being known popularly as avid defenders of LGBT rights, SJWs have often accused gay men of being ‘misogynistic’ for their disassociation with femininity. Most importantly, they ALSO BELIEVE LGBT PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BE THAT WAY. SJWs overwhelmingly believe gender is a social construct, as encouraged by the current sociology medium, and thus choosing a ‘gender’ is a choice. Elements also believe being gay is a choice, as evidenced by the radical feminist political lesbian movement. Bodily autonomy
Liberals: Generally support abortion rights.
Authoritarian right: Opposed to abortion rights for the most part.
SJWs: While SJWs unanimously support a woman’s right to an abortion, they show themselves to be complete hypocrites to the notion of “bodily autonomy” - feminists are extremely critical of anti infant circumcision activists, stating that it is a non-issue.
Religion
Liberals: Generally critical of organized religion and rely on secular morals.
Authoritarian right: Endorse organized religion and the value of religious morals.
Culture
LIberals: Tend to be critical of unquestioned cultural practices, and avoid excessive nationalism.
Authoritarian right: Place emphasis on the traditional family, traditional practices and customs, and preserving an orthodox culture.
SJWs: Endorse third-world hypernationalism almost unanimously. Also tend to support the traditional practices of anyone who essentially isn’t European, to the extent that they become very socially conservative. For example, earlier today I was accused of being anti-Semetic for opposing Jewish and Muslim infant circumcision, because it was “part of their culture.” (Ironically, they fail to realize female genital mutilation in the third world is also just “part of their culture”)
Immigration
Liberals: More lenient and open towards immigration for the most part.
Authoritarian right: Support a limited quota of immigrants, but view it as taxing and counter-productive, as well as a threat to the native culture.
SJWs: Also see immigration as a threat to native culture - as evidenced by their support of an “Africa for Africans” - black Africans, that is.
In summary, the social justice movement proves horseshoe theory correct - it more accurately resembles a reactionary movement as opposed to a movement that actually wants to create a more tolerant society. It’s been accurately described by many as a religion, where one is born with the original sin of being a white cishet, and the only redemption comes from being a dedicated feminist.
They oppose all the individualist values and freedoms that liberalism has traditionally supported. Liberals have been fighting back, but the left now is popularly known for being home to the PC crowd. More and more drift to the right, which has a growing libertarian component itself. Anyone who remains committed to the general principles of liberalism has a duty to combat the abuse of power and restricting behavior of any movement - let’s take liberalism back.

Just curious, what is a critical feminist? I consider myself a feminist but agree with everything on this blog. Like is it a feminist who dislikes what feminism has become?
Yeap pretty much, a feminist who doesn't buy into what mainstream feminist journalists and activists claim about the first world's gender imbalance. Someone who is critical of much of the rhetoric but still chooses to identify as a feminist because of the historical connotations of the word not because of what modern feminists claim. Sounds like you might be one then
