piece of mind // installation art & public sculpture final, spring 2020

i like to view myself as a collage of all my experiences, which is funny, because when it comes to the type of art i enjoy making, collage-work is always my go-to.

right now in quarantine, while i’m at home with pretty much only old magazines and a giant tube of blue paint to work with, i’ve found the creation process to be both freeing and overwhelming. on one hand, using art as an emotional outlet is cathartic, but on the other is the overwhelming stress of feeling like as an artist, i must be creative during this time of having so much time.

this piece is structured to be a narrative that can be read either top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top, and is meant to offer a current peak into my mind, as well as illustrate the duality of catharsicm and stress that comes with creating in quarantine.
