Would your family still love you if you were a bug? Well no. Did they ever love you or was it just that you were useful to them? Now that you are hideous and useless, they have no empathy, and come to consider you nothing but a burden, actually hurting them by being in this state, despite all your efforts to make this easy for *them*, despite the fact that you do nothing for yourself, despite the fact that you are the one who one day woke up as a bug and lost everything. They mistreat you, after a point starve you, and still all you can think about is them.

Once they've finally had enough, insisting nothing of you could be left given that you continue to torture them so - though your timid behavior hasn't changed the entire time, only their mistreatment of you has grown larger - you resolve to try and leave so as not to disturb them any further. And "leaving" ends up being dying, after all the abuse you suffered. They are nothing but relieved. They don't even care what happened to your body, they just leave the place as quickly as they can to start a new life.

im going back to school for law studies in january, and i also built this hatsune miku soundwave. that's what i've been up to the past while

don't infantilise yourself. you are not a child who needs an adult to make your decisions for you. you are a splendid and magnificent autocrat and you are consulting your trusted advisors. you are exercising great wisdom by inviting an expert to give their opinion before making your ruling. often the path of wisdom is to say "good morning, I'm trying to [perform task] and I have a question about [aspect], can you tell me who I should speak to for advice?" before you do it. sometimes the path of wisdom is to hire a plumber. there are times when you cannot do things for yourself but that doesn't mean you are not an adult. you don't need a grown-up. you need a specialist.

i feel bad for the people that were genuine fans of Dave Strider who now have to see him mischaracterized, but i must confess, taking the character that has become the posterboy for post-ironic detachment and portraying him Completely Wrong in the pilot is kind of an extremely Hussie thing to do

like if you're at all surprised that the animated pilot doesn't seem to line up with what most fans actually want from an adaptation of Homestuck, you have to remember that Andrew Hussie hates his fans, the internet at large, and most of all, Homestuck itself
