Davina's eyes shifted over the her lovely mother. She bit back a grin. There seemed be a complex history between the pair from the little he had said. And, she was a bit nosey. Especially when it came to her mother. "Mr. Yanluo told me he would teach me more about tea, and I definitely think he has a lot to show me!" She spoke with a head nod. "Plus..." She spoke, and her grin seemed to finally touch her lips, growing wider as she spoke. "He told me that he cherished you very much, and that you both were soulmates. I think he said divinely connected, but it has been a few weeks since I have last spoke to him." So, she looked at the other, rather curious on how turn the god's words were.
Grabbing her drink, the demigoddess took a sip of her tea as her mother extended her offer. She would definitely take advantage of it. Not even just to see the beautiful location, the demigoddess was greedy for her mother's attention. She had decades to make up for, and while there was no resentment, there was definitely a strong desire to make up for lost time. "Don't worry mom. That is an offer that I cannot deny." Davina admitted to the goddess, finally putting her drink back behind her.
As the goddess reacted to her statement, Davina could only blink. Eyes widened as her mother asked questions. Have feelings for Felix? Maybe, ages ago when the chronically online woman only had internet strangers to give her attention. But, he was a superstar streamer, and she was just Dav. "Yeah... Shocked because I doubted I remembered that he liked those..." She hesitated over her words. Did he even know about this? "Felix and I are just friends. I can tell you without a doubt that I am the last person in the planet he would ever like! So, no! I did not mean it like that! I also doubt he took it that way!" Davina quickly explained. Wow, she really messed up, didn't she? Or, did she have anything to worry about?
When she asked about anyone else, her cheeked flamed red, and she demigoddess sank a bit deeper in the water. Closed lips covered momentarily before she mustered up the strength to admit her mother that she did it to another. Though, this person she did like and even though she had a chance with. "I.... Yeah... I gave one of my other friends a ring too... Made of jade because I read it was good luck.." Looking away from her mother for a second, the demigoddess chewed on her lips, slightly wincing.
A knowing smile traced her lips as she took another sip of wine, not daring to say another word about Davina learning to further hone her craft under the tutelage of her Diyu counterpart. However, when her daughter mentioned the god cherished Xiwangmu and considered them divinely connected, a warm chuckle resonated in her chest upon a series of rich, melodious hums. Still, that secretive and serene smile remained upon her face, clearly keeping quiet upon her own opinions toward Wang Yanluo...however, the fondness reflected in her eyes may give away her own feelings on the matter.
However, a shift in topic was in order and the subject of their conversation had changed to her daughter's visits to her residence on the island. Of course, Davina was welcome to visit the estate at any time--she was the Queen Mother's daughter, after all! "Good," she declared with a satisfied nod when the young woman accepted the open invitation to visit whenever she liked.
On the other hand, when the subject of Davina's gift to her 'plus one' was discussed, the goddess very nearly choked on her drink of wine but caught it and delicately composed herself once more, recovering from her brief shock. Nevertheless, she felt she had to explain, very much aware of the fact her daughter had been raised in a place with a far different culture, but there were still some who were very familiar with and respected the custom even if they weren't from the same belief.
She listened to her daughter explain her suspicions toward Felix's reaction and reception to the gift as well as the dynamic of their relationship. "A...'just friend'...that you invited to a family dinner to sit at the family table...and then gave a...very intimate gift. Yes. You may...consider discussing that with him. Approach the subject in a delicate and strategic manner," she mused and leaned against the wall of the spring, resting the back of her head upon a rolled towel, a soft chuckle escaping her lips as she saw just how red her daughter's cheeks had become.
But learning at that point that Davina had given ANOTHER friend a ring warranted a reaction of widened eyes and a soft click of her tongue--not quite as stark and intense as her reaction to the necklace, but to learn that it was a JADE ring, that chuckle erupted into a short burst of delicate, chiming laughter that resonated pleasantly throughout the chamber. "Oh, my dear, my darling sweet. Jade rings...are symbol of everlasting love. Dare I ask...who this friend was?"
