Rest in Peace, Sam Neill (1947-2026) 🕊️
Sam Neill’s dream, if anyone wants a good cry.
It’s been a while
I don’t know if anyone from this fandom is still around but if anyone is willing to rp with Spino, I am having some inspiration for her!
Being locked up for so long without any care or attention drove Spino crazy. She finally took the one time the caretakers came into her paddock as an advantage. The large gates were open and before any of them knew it, she ran out, roaring as she reached her freedom. Spino ran throughout the island, enjoying whatever she saw, not really going for other dinosaurs. She slowly to a stop once she reaches the valley for the Gyrosphere ride, sniffing around and beginning to explore the area.
Alex was milling about in the valley, running through some training with her parasaurolophus. She needed to make sure they were all going to get the word out when an order came through. And she noticed they were working well together. When she dismissed them, she started on another herd from her tree.
But as she worked, she heard a call from one of her parasaurolophus she hadn’t heard before, and suddenly there was a miniature stampede. Alex held on tightly to the trunk of the tree as the ground beneath her shook from the running of the large animals. But many of the older ones stayed in their spot, a fight or flight response coming up. And they were choosing fight, keeping the tree behind them.
Looking past them, she saw a dinosaur that wasn’t running after her girls. But it wasn’t one that belonged in the valley. She looked… She looked like one of Anna’s girls. But the spinosaurids weren’t near the valley. They were over with the T-Rex on the other side of the island. Someone would have called ACU by now. No one could have not noticed this dinosaur running around!
"Yeah...seems easy enough." Spino then begins to cut the meat, her tongue sticking out a bit as she concentrated on the task at hand. "Like this?"

Spino calms down and then nods a bit. “Yeah…sorry my bad.” She smiles and then nods about her not coming in the water. “I wouldn’t expect you to.”
“That’ll be nice…I can’t wait to get up close to them.”
The handler nodded and moved to the table, putting the plates down. “Okay. Stupid question. Do you know how to use a knife and fork?” She asked, remembering the fact she’d been a dinosaur for her life.
“I’ll teach you about them when we meet them. I promise.”
Spino blinks a couple of times and then shakes her head. “No…I’ve never even heard of a knife..or a fork.” she says softly and blushes, embarrassed about the fact.
Nodding as she answered, she smiled. “Okay,” She started, holding up the fork. “See this? It looks like a claw kind of. This is a fork. It’s what we use to hold onto things.” She put the fork down and held up the knife. “This pointy thing is a knife. Never touch the shiny part. It’s sharp and you’ll hurt yourself. This is what we use to cut the food we want to eat. So. Take your knife and just hold it in one hand, see what’s comfortable. If it doesn’t feel comfortable in one hand, try the other.”
The woman carefully picks up the knife, holding it in her left hand. She then switched to her right hand, smiling as it felt more comfortable to her. "Ah, this is good for me." Spino then picks up the form, looking to Alex. "I hold them like this?"

Lyra leaned over and kissed her lover. "Good Morning love."
Spino smiles and then curls up against her, sighing softly. “Good morning.” She nuzzles her a bit.

“Okay…I’d like to try that and something else too.” She looks at her.
“Hmm?” She looks through the menu some more. “How about a tiger roll? it spicy crab, spicy tuna, and cucumber, all wrapped with seaweed.”
Spino nods and smiles. "Sounds perfect." She leans back in her seat.

“You think?” She asked. “It doesn’t need anything?” She took the spoon and put it in the sink as she finished up the pork chops, letting them rest on a plate under tin foil.
“Yes. I will. They are able to be bipeds or quadripeds. They do make sounds and they can alert the other herds to things that are going on. They like to hang out around the water, so when you get in there, you’ll see them quite often.”
“I don’t think they need anything else.”
Spino then grows happy about them being near water. “That’s gonna be awesome then. Am I gonna be introduced to them as a human first?”
She nodded and put plates together, adding salad to the plates. “They’ll be increasing the water features around so you have more room to swim and be relaxed,” She explained as she plated their dinner.
“And you will be, yes. We’ll get them used to your scent as a human and you’ll help me take care of them so they know you aren’t a threat. And then you’ll be introduced as a dinosaur to them.”
"I can't wait to swim around...that is going to be so much fun." Spino smiles widely and then gets even happier.
"I get to help take care of them? That's going to be so amazing!" She was bouncing happily.

Spino saw us. Oh crap.
Spino growls softly as she thinks about it for a bit, looking back to the other. 'That is fine...'

“Maybe one of the ones that you work with.” She smiles and watches her go to the pork chops, rubbing her stomach. “I think it’s important I learn about them first.”
“Alright,” She started. “Well. I handle apatosaurus, parasaurolophus, triceratops, and stegosaurus. The ones you won’t have much trouble with are the parasaurolophus. They were the ones that made the sound you heard yesterday.”
She stirred the apples again and got a couple on a spoon, handing it over to Spino. “It’s hot to be careful when you take a bite.”
Spino takes the spoon and blows on the food, soon taking a bite of it. “Mm…delicious.” She smiles and hands the spoon back to Alex.
“Okay…so would you introduce me to them first? Since they aren’t as bad as the others?”
“You think?” She asked. “It doesn’t need anything?” She took the spoon and put it in the sink as she finished up the pork chops, letting them rest on a plate under tin foil.

‘What is a containment unit? And the Kirby incident…you mean those people who came right?’ Spino tilts her head, growling a bit. ‘I didn’t mean to harm them..they started attacking me first..’
‘Asset containment unit is a group of people that work to help keep the dinosaurs out of trouble. And yeah i think so. Papa read a report to me when i was a smaller dinosaur.’ She replied. ‘I am sorry about what happened back then.’
'What is going to happen now?’ She growls lowly and was now relaxed, sitting on her back legs.
She shrugged. 'Mama doesn’t want to disturb the ecosystem here. A park built here would upset the balance here. She would attempt to make use of what facilities are left here.’
'So I'd still get to roam free across the island?' She asks while watching the other.
