I was thinking about how Nesta recalls numerous times how her mother would beat her palms bloody for “disobedience” and then we have multiple scenes of Cassian always kissing her palms and holding her hands, he’s everything she’s ever needed ughhhhh

hey so Nesta can't neglect Feyre in the legal sense. Neglect is when the party responsible for supplying the needs of another fails to do so.

Nesta is not Feyre's mother. She is not her father. Papa Archeron is guilty of neglecting all his children.

Was Nesta mean? Yes, sometimes. Annoying? Yeah. What she was not, was responsible for Feyre's needs.

People love to pull the "As an older sister, I have problems with Nesta" so I'll share my experiences.

I have 3 younger siblings. One is close in age to me, about 2 years younger. I am not responsible for her needs. Our parents may ask me to advise or share my experiences with her as an older sibling with more experience, but she is, ultimately, my parents' responsibility until she is independent. I cannot neglect her in the legal sense.

My 2 youngest siblings are 8 and 11 years younger than me, respectively. I am still not responsible for them. A larger age gap does not make me their parent. When I'm at home, I may be asked to drive them somewhere or cook them a meal if our parents are out, but ultimately they are my parents' responsibility. I may agree to take on some responsibility of them temporarily but it's just that: willing and temporary.

Have I been mean to my siblings? Yes. Annoying? Definitely. But since I am not their parent, I am unable to neglect them.

And so, since we're so fond of forcing real-world standards on acotar, Nesta is unable to neglect her sisters.

Sometimes, when Nesta stays out too late at Rita's with the Valkyries, when she stays up too late reading in the library, Cassian carries her back to their bed all soft and sweet 😌

Family relationships often leave us in doubt about the validity of the feelings that others have for us, whether they exist genuinely or simply because of the obligation and strength of blood ties.

Specifically in Nesta and Feyre’s case, their relationship was troubled for many reasons, from the absence of parents to poverty, and the doubt about the reciprocity of love always hovered over them. That is why Nesta’s first “I love you” being for Feyre and her receiving one in return, in a reciprocal way, is possibly one of the most moving moments in Acosf.

But, as much as a declaration in an extreme situation was welcome in the case of both, imagining them later sharing their tastes and everything that makes them who they are, thus strengthening an existing bond, enchants us.

Hello all, new to the Sarah J Maas/ACOTAR fandom and looking to get some blog/fic/art recs.

About me: I’m a complete novice as it relates to the fandom! I understand she is a controversial figure but I do love Nesta with all my heart and am a fan of Nessian. I’m currently about a quarter of the way into the third Crescent City, and I also adore Bryce/Hunt and Ruhn/Lidia.
