rupert really had no reason to make that offer, and even bas seemed surprised. he isn’t just messing with cameron, who didn’t ask for any of this and definitely didn’t sign up to be manipulated again, but also hurting taggie, who until now seemed willing to forgive him even while he still hadn’t fully let go of cameron.

and the reason he does this is that he is trying to keep two different relationships for two different needs. he wants cameron for sex, because he clearly takes pleasure in being with her, gets along with her, and considers her his equal, and he wants taggie because he loves her and for looking after his children, because she is the kind of woman he would be happy to marry.
