𝐀𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍'𝐒 mannerisms even before she finished her sentence : the very hint of a smile barely hidden across his lips . simple , honest & fit to manifest the range of his sympathy with dormé’s opinion . “ snips is … a feisty little thing . ” as the jedi spoke , it was possible to discern the shadows of fondness casing every word ――――signs of their rough start now nowhere to be found , whilst the skywalker would wordlessly take ahsoka as somewhat of a younger sibling . “ i can understand why both you and senator amidala got to like her . ” ignoring the odd tone of padmé’s oficial title under his own voice , anakin proceeded with plain sincerity .
azure stare then fluctuated upon the one next to him ――――an eyebrow arching as initial answer to her set of words , whilst demeanor followed amusement once more . “ a compliment ?! alright , i’ll pretend to believe you in order to keep this civilized . ” a jest , no less , the remnant of a humor the war had not yet burned from him . albeit throughout brief forms of interactions , anakin could say to enjoy dormé’s presence : just as much as she held a fair share of his trust upon the importance of her occupation around padmé . “ and , please … just ‘anakin’ is fine . we cross paths enough for this . and , also , obi - wan isn’t here to silently judge me . ”
“senator amidala, for all her diplomatic skill, harbors more than a little feistiness within herself, as we both know,” lips are pressed together to mask a smile, tone cool and cordial as ever, though amusement all but radiates from her, “i think she senses a kindred spirit in ashoka, as do i.” it pleases her, in some odd way, to find she can share the truth of padme amidala with another, that anakin also knows that behind delicate features lies steel and burning heart. (it makes all of it less lonely, perhaps, that she doesn’t think she’s quite ready to admit that to even herself.) “she’s exceptional, ahsoka. the republic should be grateful for her service, just as it should that of the rest of your peers.”
but dorme grins now, brightly and easily. “i’ve heard you jedi are wary of compliments,” voice adopts gently teasing lilt, “something all but unheard of in the senate circles senator amidala and i are stuck frequenting.” they grasp onto to even the fainest sheen of praise and glory, politicians, and as somber as she’s found most of his order to be, she does find it a welcome change. “anakin, then,” she responds softly, weighing his name thoughtfully on her tongue, “and yes, he seems good at that, master kenobi.” the corner of her lips twitch wryly. “it sounds like he ends up doing so often, from the tone of your voice.”
