My favourite thing about fan fiction is the experience of watching/reading something and being like ‘huh - I can see a potential pairing there, those two characters could be interesting together’. And then you casually look up the pairing on AO3 and someone has written the most beautiful, heart-wrenching love story you’ve ever read, with character analysis that makes you want to scream, and they’ve teased out the threads of the relationship dynamic in such an interesting way that makes so much SENSE, but you never would have thought it would be so fucking ELECTRIC. And then you recover enough from that fic to read another one, and it’s JUST AS FUCKING GOOD, and before you know it, it’s 3am and your eyes are burning and you’re squinting at the 100th scene of them confessing their love for each other and it’s still not enough. You know what I’m saying???

Insidious: The Red Door was actually scary. More modern suspense buildup and then the predictable yet still terrifying jumpscares.

(Minor Spoilers but warnings I wish I got: if you’re claustrophobic. Skip the very claustrophobic hospital scene when the tension starts to build. If you have an aversion to vomit, skip the tense scene when Dalton hears someone in a bathroom and when he’s hiding from said someone!)

And the cameo at the end! I was so misty eyed and happy to see (them). Now to have a full marathon of all the films in chronological order 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The big discourse on twitter right now is that writers going on strike or cancelling their own series are breaking an invisible “contract” they made with their fans and all creators owe their fans a satisfying conclusion to their stories. Actually all fans owe all creators for entertaining them and if a creator says “I don’t want to perform this labor anymore,” then regardless of the cliffhanger that leaves you with, your only response should be “take care! Thank you for all your hard work!!!” :)
