GUYS! THIS IS IMPORTANT!
I am going to hold a presentation about Gender Identity for sex-ed class in April. I have planned on covering the following aspects:
-What is gender identity? - (add explanations of words as “dysphoria” and other specific words here) -How does gender identity develope? -Transgender/Transexuality - How does transition work? - How does dysphoria feel? (This is where you guys come in for the first time. Just send me an IM on tumblr. Your experiences will remain 100% anonymous, but will be translated into german)
- Intersex ( information on this subject would be awesome, just send me an IM with your experiences/explanations on tumblr.)
- non-binary genders ( information on this subject would be awesome, just send me an IM with your experiences/explanations on tumblr.)
(Add list of nonbinary genders here)
Please, reblog this and help me out. I want to provide the most authentic and best information to my class, so gender identity becomes more seriously talked about and less of a joke. (at least here in germany)

My trans ass: Oh shit here we go
To all trans* kids
Dear trans* kids, if ever anyone tells you that you being trans* is only because of puberty, don`t be offended. These persons are actually right. But in another way. It`s not caused by your brain going mad with hormones but by your BODY developing. Let`s face it: Puberty is that thing that tells you what you are and the first time in life your body gets the chance to bother you. And it`s not “typical teen” to discover being trans*. Keep it up. Always. - Franziska
Quick Update
Hi there, since we haven’t been active in quite a while, here’s what went on in my life lately. - I came back from a class trip on friday (for me it’s sunday) and it was pretty mixed. Sure, being around the people i like for almost one week, but dysphoria really made things nasty. I had to sleep in a boy’s dorm because i am not out to anybody yet. I tried to hang out with my girl friends, but some of them were on their period what pushed dysphoria further. - I have fallen in love with a girl. Unfortunatly, she also is one of my closest friends and i am afraid that i will lose her if i tell her how i feel. As far as i know, she has feelings for me, too, but things are a mess recently. I also need to make clear for myself that i am still pansexual/panromantic because the part of me that still has some kind of male influence on me tells me that i am only hetero. - Last but not least, i question if i rather fit on the asexual spectrum. I am recently thinking demipansexual through as a label. Thank you for reading, Franziska
I just randomly came out to a friend

Discovery Digital explains sex and gender terms in new video
“ ‘Sex and Gender Terms Explained’ is a new video produced by Discovery Digital on their network, Test Tube. It provides clear definitions of common terms related to gender identity. The video explains the difference between sex and gender, and defines need-to-know terminology including, “transgender,” “genderqueer,” and “gender expression.” They also make an important statement that, “Identity is everything to so many. It’s personal, it’s important, it’s about affirmation.” That explains the need to educate and increase understanding among those both outside and inside the LGBT community.
Discovery Digital did a fantastic job helping trans and genderqueer members of the LGBT community be heard, understood, and accepted as a result.”

There are different types of dysphoria. You can be unhappy with certain body parts, but also with appearance (butch/femme), using the bathroom for the gender you were designated or having to fullfill a certain gender role.
Please always keep that in mind. You are not abnormal or crazy.
Here`s a thing. I am recently going through a really dysphoric phase and as everytime i do that, i was questioning if i am "really" transgender. I read all those stories about the trans* kids who knew they were trans* since they were young and i sat there and thougt this over and over. I am 14, right in puberty, with everything that is associated with it: voice gets lower, hair everywhere, etc etc. And that is ok. You can`t be "too old" to know you`re trans.
Dysphoria: *is a bitch*
