I'm sick again <TW: Self-injury>
Overall mood: I was fine, good even, all day. Until I was alone again Highs: Lovely morning with Zach. Work was busy and I was productive and it felt good. Came home and spent time with Zach on Overwatch and watching Steven Universe. Lows: After SU Zach said goodnight and signed off and it was the first time I was truly alone in the past 24 hours. And it got bad. And I cut again. And the light, surface level cuts are starting to not feel like enough and I’m scared.

Baaaaaaaad. <GIANT TRIGGER WARNING: SELF INJURY AND SEXUAL ABUSE>
Overall mood: the worst Highs: ????? Lows: Self injury relapse. I found my xacto knife blades and just seeing them was enough to trigger me in my already dysphoric and depressed state. I was okay for a bit, but getting into the shower and being forced to see my body was enough to push me over the edge. While I was in the shower, I did something that scared the fuck out of me - I sexually abused...myself? I grabbed my breasts, which are off-limits in all sexual situations unless I'm wearing a binder (cuz it makes them feel like pecs), and fondled them until I was crying. While this was happening I missed several texts and 2 calls from Zach, who, after receiving an ominous text from me, thought (reasonably, in context) that I was suicidal. Already in a dark place, I got so angry at myself after discovering how much I had terrified him that I decided I was human garbage and grabbed my xacto knives. I fought it for a second and put them down, but then about 5 minutes later the self-loathing flared up again and I grabbed them, audibly said "Fuck it" and cut slivers along my hips and abdomen. I spent the rest of the day feeling like a ghost. 😰Howl 7/23/17

TUMBLR PROF ANNOUNCEMENT: If you are trans or nonbinary and you are in the same situation as the student above, email your professors before class starts. I understand that it might be uncomfortable, but generally professors are absolutely happy to accommodate you. I know I always will be!
If your professor does not respond positively, contact the Dean or the campus LGBT+ resource center with a copy of the email and show them that you are concerned about gender discrimination in the classroom.
Also this is a link to the template I used to write this email, and I’ve seen another similar template going around, and this was extremely helpful.
just a reminder that this is an option for you folks! i did it and all my teachers replied within a few hours saying that it was okay. you can do this! school does not have to be painful.
