“There are far too many silent sufferers. Not because they don’t yearn to reach out, but because they’ve tried and found no one who cares.”
— Richelle E. Goodrich
you don’t really know what’s wrong. you’re just not happy.
sometimes nice things do happen. like experiencing a peaceful autumn day or sharing a few laughs with the ones you love.
but the laughter feels empty. no matter how many smiles you force upon your lips, no matter how many giggles you push out of your mouth, you are simply not happy.
why? why can’t you just be happy?
when you’re sad they tell you to just be grateful for what you have as if that will make the feelings ago away
you feel uncomfortable in your own skin, like you don’t belong there. the surface itches and it ripples as you move and you hate it, you want out. you want to crawl out of it and curl up somewhere dark and safe, where you don’t have to be seen. you can just be.
you’re screaming.
you’re screaming because they’re hurting you; they’re hurting you. they’re tearing you apart and you’re bleeding on the ground. and you cry and you beg but Death looks the other way and now you’re screaming to the deaf stars above; calling out the names of people who never really loved you at all.
you only wanted me when i was useful to you.
solitude is suffocating. you’re so tired of being alone.
you’re screaming.
you’re screaming because they’re hurting you; they’re hurting you. they’re tearing you apart and you’re bleeding on the ground. and you cry and you beg but Death looks the other way and now you’re screaming to the deaf stars above; calling out the names of people who never really loved you at all.
❝ I'm battling monsters, I'm pulling you out of burning buildings and you say, “I'll give you anything” but you never come through ❞
— Richard Siken
you’re so sad.
and you’re crying; you’re alone. the tears feel like acid and your lungs feel like lead and you’re all alone, always alone.
You had a bottle of pills but I wouldn’t let you swallow them.
You said, “Will you love me even more when I'm dead?”
— richard siken
it hurts. so. bad.
you should be angry.
but it takes too much energy to be angry and your emotions are stretched thin. worn out. so instead, you’re sad. you’re sad and it hurts but you can’t even cry.
you’re so sad.
and you’re crying; you’re alone. the tears feel like acid and your lungs feel like lead and you’re all alone, always alone.
you’re trapped.
you’re trapped in your own head and you’re screaming for help but nobody hears you. no one ever hears you.
why can’t anyone hear you?
their words cut like knives, and you have so many scars. you try to heal again and again. but their betrayal leaves marks.
