People join this profession for various reasons. Some say passion and some, for the stability and prospects of the job. Mine was passion. But what I've learn through these 7 years of doing what I love is that no matter the reason of why you first started, without treating this profession with respect and with the attitude of humility, you'll never go far. . Nurses are seen very differently in different parts of the world. In Singapore, because of the culture and the fact that it's so fast paced, you end up doing everything and covering the roles of many to appease the patient's family or to just make your life a little easier. You get burnt out. You lose yourself. You forget why you joined this profession in the first place. You look after the sick, but when you're sick, you just keep going. . To all nurses out there: Love yourself. Take care of yourself. Treat yourself. Put these 3 first BEFORE doing what you love. Only then can you survive in this. No one said it's gonna be easy. It's a thankless job. You know it. Stop lamenting and keep going. It is a selfish world and with the job that we have, giving is a norm. Thank You God. I could only have done it with His guidance and with His provision. You know, it's only when you're sick sick, like on your literal deathbed that you truly see people for who they are. They might be your closest ones. Your family. Your children. As usual, you hit the nail right on the head. I truly am sorry that whatever happened during our fight came across as a negative impact on you. That's the last thing I wanted. But thanks for all those crazy times. They were pretty much the best times of my life. Like what you said, it's gonna take a lot more to reconcile and I guess this isn't something that we should rush into as well. Let's just see where this takes us. In the meantime, I wish you nothing but the best, and a lifetime of marital bliss. But please, just remember that I'm still here, whenever you need. That's all I ask. Till then, I'm just gonna hope in time, things would get better someway, somehow between us again.

So in 2 days, we managed to put together a short get together with the family to celebrate the 6th birthday of my first born yesterday. He's 6 now and is growing up too quickly. Between all the reasoning and challenging that he does, is the sweet side of him that says "it doesn't matter where my birthday is held daddy, it can be just at the void deck at our block. But I want the whole family to be together." I'm just thankful that he's growing up to be a sweet, family-oriented family man. Happy birthday darling. That pretty much summed up my 2018. From going to the lowest of lows when it came to work, to the highest of highs when we finally met our little princess. 1 lesson I've learnt though, is that work may be a large part of our lives now that we're adults and have a whole lot of adulting to do, but family's what's the most important.
