❝ Well… I appreciate the compliment I suppose. I have been doing well all things considered, thank you for asking. ❞
HELLO
Uryū was temporarily taken aback by the short, bold girl and unconciously tipped his head acknowledging her.
❝ H-Hello… Who are you exactly? ❞
Nightlife
Katara wondered if she would ever get used to the peculiarities of the city. There was rarely stillness here- the city woke up in the morning and likewise came alive at night. Where, in her village, the night was quiet and tranquil, in Bunkyo all sorts of characters came out at night. It was interesting to her to see the lights of the city mirror the nighttime sky. Katara had been warned often enough to understand that there were some shady people she ought to watch out for, especially when the moon was high, but she had never been one to allow her actions to be influenced by fear. Besides, she had always felt a special connection with the moon, the mistress of the tides, and she was more than capable of fending for herself.
The dark presented a certain sort of limbo in time. It was easy to ignore the hour when you didn’t have the lengthening shadows to remind you the day was slipping away. It was relaxing for her, as someone with a busy schedule, to take a while to forget about her obligations and just enjoy the cool air and the full, bright sky.
There was a nice breeze out tonight, less bone-chilling than it had been most of the winter. Coming from the South Pole, anything above freezing felt like shorts weather to her, so she was rather lightly dressed for midwinter. Katara turned her head to see a stranger looking back at her- tall, spectacled, dark-haired.
❝ You have been staring at the sky for some time… ❞
“Oh…Yeah. I guess I just got distracted. It really is a beautiful night, isn’t it? I wish the city lights didn’t wash the sky out like this, though…” She walked towards him and offered her hand. “I’m Katara. Nice to meet you. I just moved here recently.”
Upon closer inspection the figure was a female close to himself in age. Older, if his assumption was correct, and slightly darker and shorter than him. She greeted him, hand extended, with a warm smile. It was only polite to respond with the same. He accepted her hand and quickly cleared his throat for an introduction.
❝ Uryū Ishida. I have recently moved here as well. I am still quite unfamiliar with the town. ❞
After releasing her hand he reached the adjust his glasses while his head turned to examine the stars above. The sky was, as she said, beautiful. The same beautiful sky that hung over Karakura town. That was what he suspected at least; the boy had never taken much time to appreciate the night sky. It appeared the same. Lacking the opportunities to live elsewhere left him unfamiliar with a night sky undisturbed by city lights. His next words were uttered unconsciously.
❝ I would like to see the sky without city lights sometime... ❞ Attempting to not become lost in the scenery above his attention became focused back onto the girl. By the wording of her sentence an assumption was made as to her previous living location. ❝ Have you lived in the city before? Or perhaps somewhere where you can see the sky better? ❞
A Reunion of Old Friends ... Not Really
Szayel wasn’t much a fan for the winter months… So many living, breathing things stuck, frozen in time, beneath the layers of ice and snow. Albeit, it wasn’t a poetic sympathetic view on the world— rather he found himself comparing this momentarily dead world to that of potential experiments being stuck to wait in a freezer that had no intention of thawing anytime soon.
A disheartened sigh found its way out of the pinkette’s mouth as he ran delicate fingertips over the outcropping stems of what was once a blossoming rose bush. Fingers played and danced along the sharp thorns before gingerly plucking one of them off of the dry brown mother plant. Szayel turned it between his feminine nails, observing it with no real interest, several times before something much more… peculiar caught his attention.
Amber eyes widened, the noon sun sparking a momentary glisten along the golden pools.
That reiatsu.
It was unmistakable…
A grin lit up the male’s face before he turned, pivoting on his right heel, and started towards the source of the familiar sensation.
The walk was a brief one, whether because the distance was simply that short or because his steps were quickened, filled by an enthusiastic energy, was left for question. Regardless, his assumption did not prove in vain as a raven-haired male caught his vision.
Ishida Uryū …
Szayel wasted no time in closing the gap between himself and the back of the other where he sat relaxed on a bench (reading something?). A closed lipped grin manifested on the pinkette’s face before he leaned down, trailing the rose thorn, still in his fingertips, along the back of the bench with a long, sharp scraping sound. Szayel’s pink hair almost touched Uryū’s shoulder with how closely the male was leaning over him.
”My, my, my, finally a familiar face~” he groaned out as though with sudden relief at seeing an old friend.
A break. A five hour session of studying within his silent, empty room left the Quincy exhausted and slightly bored. Some sort of relaxation period was required. A walk. To clear his mind and give himself some peace he had decided on a stroll through a nearby park. Fine an appropriate seat for himself he breathed in the fresh air and people watched for a short time before losing himself within a book.
Uryū had become so deeply involved with the words printed across the page that little attention was given to the man closing in on him. He began to feel the figure sliding closer to him and gave no instant reaction. Blue irises still scanned over the pages of the novel, but he was now aware that someone was within his personal space. It had been so long since he felt the reiatsu he initially did not recognize. It was only until that exceedingly familiar voice chimed behind him did something click inside the boy's mind.
I-It couldn't be... not here.
As the boy feared the stranger that came into view as he slowly turned was very, very familiar. It was strange, outrageous even; a pink-haired man who had once been his enemy and, to his knowledge, presumably defeated now stood before him grinning. His legs moved quickly as he rose from his seat and twisted to completely face him.
❝ Szayel... What the hell are you doing here? ❞ The words hung heavy in the air. It was an instinctual question, yet without anything more to say he left it at that hoping for an actual answer from the scientist.
Nightlife -x- Open
The streets of Bunkyo were silent and dark as the sun had long past set leaving the city to rest and prepare for the next day ahead. Most shops that normally were busy serving enthusiastic customer after customer were now dark and still. Windows lacked light, doors remained locked, and the occasional passerby made their way to their own homes. One figure, however, did not remain on a path to any set destination and lingered the desolate streets alone.
Uryū's eyes flickered from structure to structure and rested on other figures momentarily before continuing their scan of the city. It had been the first time the boy had done any exploring of the city since he had arrived. He had become occupied with moving into his dorm and organizing the room, that lacked any kind of roommate, for himself. Studying the school's curriculum and a map he came across of the city had taken up much of his time as well. After studying the city he felt confident enough on his own to analyze the town for himself.
The Quincy noted that exploring the town during the day would have a different atmosphere altogether, but he needed a peaceful walk on his own. This routine was common for him back in Karakura Town; roaming the dark streets alone. Back then he searched for Hollows on his night trips, he hoped that problem was long behind him within this town.
For a good stretch of the journey the scenery remained the same while the other passing shadows ignored him completely. There was one person that caught the boy's attention. Uryū now stood at the edge of a park that he had passed previously. A single person stood in the center of the park and, from what he could tell, had been staring at the sky for some time now. With a flick of his falling frames he made an attempt to approach the stranger in question. As he grew closer and unsure of how to begin he made a simple statement.
❝ You have been staring at the sky for some time... ❞

So I realized that I haven't been doing much on Uryū and I'm trying to get him active. So if you want to thread with him please send me a message! Also, this account has been known to not receive messages so if you have sent me a message try to send me a fanmail thingy whatever too. If I don't respond to your message in at least a day then I probably didn't get it at all.
Also, I'll be posting at least one if not two opens later. I've never posted opens before so bear with me. Thank you!

The Painting of a Mercy Kill
Distant rays of the setting sun lit layers of soft white ablaze with shining hues of oranges, yellows, and even the occasional purple. Oceans of snow that rolled seamlessly, untouched by human or animal tracks since it had fallen earlier in the day, over the hills of Bunkyo. The only outcropping outline that managed to break the smooth waves of blazing snow was the thin frame of a girl, her hair as red as the sun-painted snow, who sat so perfectly still… so peacefully calm in the snow (that had reached well up to her waist by now) that one had room to question if she were human or if she was merely just a part of the natural picture that surrounded her.
It was a serene mystical event that had the girl momentarily forgetting that she wasn’t in a dream or another world for that matter. Silver orbs scanned the world before her with unblinking attentiveness as though she might be seeking an answer to an unspoken question in the landscape before her, or perhaps a secret coded message in the patterns that the dying sun left on the parchment of white before it.
She sat vigilant as a statue in her self-appointed position, guarding this place in her mind as though it were her own secret haven. The only flicker of movement that broke her stillness was a sharp gust of wind that blew her locks of hair about to the side and cast them into the illumination of the sun, making it as though a spark of fire had suddenly come to life on the tips of her strands of hair.
Only then did she blink and let out a small sigh, allowing her eyes to slip closed and her head to lax downward. As beautiful as it was, it was cold… and the snowstorm last night had left her small camp in ruins, leaving her to the bite of the elements with no compensation for its destruction. And yet, when the sun rose that very day, the storm prior having long since left, in the wake of the terror there was nothing left except the beauty before her, and ironic as it was, Kyumei didn’t mind paying her respects to the beauty that very well might have spelled the end for her by tonight.
A soft smirk graced her lips, allowing a chuckle to part from them. Nature was a mercy killer indeed…
The gusts of wind carried barely visible white specs in their midst that stuck momentarily to a moving smudge of raven-black. A single long bang and scarf end occasionally swayed in the moving air paths. The boy's face nuzzled into his scarf and with each hot breath taken his glasses fogged. He pushed through the frozen landscape with a bag connected to his wrists whilst both hands crammed into pockets in an attempt to keep them warm.
It took only a momentary glimpse for the Uryū to notice the presence of someone in the freezing cold. While it was the sudden appearance of a reddish hue in the distance, he now noticed a faint reiatsu stemming from the color. His curious personality brought him closer to the person in question and he now noticed how much the splash of color stood out in the surrounding white canvas. Something clicked within him causing him to suddenly rush to the stranger's side.
❝ Hey! Are you okay? ❞ The words flowed from his lips as his distance to them lessened. During the inspection of the person a memory had come forth. Something about not only the shade of this person's hair, but also the slim frame and quality of clothing rang a bell in his mind.
While the body beneath him began to shake he managed to continue his speech in surprise. ❝ K-kyumei-san? Is that you? ❞

Hello everyone. I am excited to start writing with Uryū again. It has been some time since I have written him so please bear with me! I will do my best.
As always, if you would like the plot/thread the little Quincy please do not hesitate to ask. Or if you just want to hop into his ask that is fine too.
Thank you!
Tch.
"So much commotion..."
"I wasn't even in that chapter."
Birthdays
The sound of a consistent tap that seemed to follow some unknown beat echoed throughout the room. The pencil that nearly cracked under the boy's tense fingers met with the desk repeatedly. The problem he faced was not a foreign one yet it seemed to still aggravate his normally calculating mind again and again. And it all was caused by a birthday. Not just any birthday, but one that held particularly great importance and caused great stress for the Quincy.
It was the birthday of Orihime Inoue.
Uryū set his pencil down to stretch both free hands behind him following with a sigh. What was he going to get her? Despite the fact that no matter what he presented to her, which is just the first stage of stress, her appreciation would be overflowing. The Quincy knew this and still... it was difficult. He was running out of time. This gift had to outweigh the last in both creativity and the unique factor.
"What does Inoue-san like..." It had been a turn-on switch for his mind; an idea sprang to him with an adjustment of his frames. "That might work..."
The boy leaped out of his comfortable position, snatched his wallet, and flew through the door of his apartment. Such a plan would require materials and time, neither of which he had.

Droplets of sweat crawled down Uryū's skin whilst sigh after sigh passed his lips. The finished product sat in one hand, the other knocking on the door to bring the receiver. This scene had been replayed enough times to leave even the Quincy guessing for a number. The door opened the same as it ever had and the nervous presentation of the gift was equally familiar. A rectangular, pink box nearly pushed into the hands of the orange-haired maiden. A single white envelope that contained something along the lines of "Happy Birthday. These are for you. Enjoy." had only her name scrawled across the front.
His typical small smirk that only show his nervousness in front of her presented itself. His eyes twitched behind glasses, watching her unexpectedly take the box that contained six freshly baked doughnuts that he made himself.
[/leaves him a new sewing kit as thank you for her doughnuts]
Hiiii Ishida-kun :3 how are you?
"Hello Anon."
"I have been fine. Although it has been rather boring lately… and very quiet. Which is unusual."
