Had such an incredible weekend at Crypticon Seattle 2016!! My first cosplay of the year: Newt from Aliens! 

I had the honor of meeting Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) who I have loved and grown up watching. I also got to meet and have breakfast with Lance Henriksen (Bishop) in addition to getting a photo with him, Michael Biehn (Hicks) and Alec Gillis from Aliens. 

I also was able to attend an Airbrush Bootcamp with Dutch Bihary and ended up getting a private lesson from him on body painting!!

In all, an amazing and unforgettable weekend.

Be  careful with some of these places when it comes to online  payments.   Make sure you’re buying from places that use reputable payment  vendors like PayPal or Google wallet, or at the very least don’t enter  your   card number into anything unless the transaction page url starts  with   an https.

Also everyone please please please do not use your debit card for your first ever purchase from some Romanian cosplay shop that opened three weeks ago.   Use your debit card to buy a Visa gift card at a drug store or ask   your  parents if you can use their credit card and give them cash on the   spot.

Credit cards give you many more options if the vendor   doesn’t deliver or ships you some busted ass dead possum wig from   Taipei. Not saying the above listed places are necessarily bad, but   these are still good tips for making safe foreign purchases online.

First Con Tips

-Bring lots of water

-Buying your tickets online can be a wise move

-Try to accumulate yourself to wearing wigs before the con

-NEVER USE ACE BANDAGES TO BIND

-Don’t cosplay shame

-Don’t let yourself be cosplay shamed

-Bring as much money as you can

-Eyeliner looks good on everyone, no matter what gender your character is

-Whatever can go wrong with your costume will go wrong

-Take a stupid amount of selfies with your new con friends

-Seal whatever body paint you may have on

-Try to avoid playing with other people’s props

-Ask before taking pictures of or hugging fellow cosplayers

-Be confident and have fun!!
