Ah, so there are more of you. Good. I feel safer around people who can fight. I haven’t come across any other Hecate kids yet, and quite frankly I don’t mind it. 

[quinn-mckenna]

I bet it'd be nice being the only kid from your parent. Lots of attention, yeah? Personally, I get pretty lonely, so it's nice having someone else to room with and stuff.

The only thing I can really do well is manipulate the mist. Although, I have seen some kids of the big three that are able to do it, too. I’m alright with potions and spells and stuff, still learning, though.

Sweet. Don't get me wrong, having the ability to beat people up whenever I need to is always a great skill to have, but I still think it'd be cool to be able to do magic. 

Strong? Yeah, I'd like to think I am.

[Quinn grins] I'll call you X, I think it's a interesting. 

Hecate, that's awesome. I've always thought the Hecate kids were really cool. What kinds of things can you do?

We haven’t. I’m- I’m X. What’s your name?

X.. Is that short  for something?

I'm Quinn, daughter of Ares.

Incredibly. I’d almost gotten used to having this whole place to myself.

I'm sorry, I don't think I know your name. Have we met?

Okay, so stiff but not too stiff. I can handle that. 

[quinn-mckenna]

Good. [she steps back, grinning] Do your thing then.

[seth-peterson]

[Seth does the best he can to copy Quinn precisely.] Okay, now what?

[quinn-mckenna]

Okay.. your aim's a little off. Here- [she walks over and stands sort of behind him, fixing his arms with her hands] Alright, now you're gonna pull the trigger. Don't try to keep your arms stiff, but don't give too much with the gun as it goes off.

[seth-peterson]

Just because I listened to you about the earring thing doesn’t mean I’m going to lose an eye. [He laughs.] Okay, what do I do first?

[quinn-mckenna]

[She pulls out a gun for herself and places her fingers on the trigger. Quinn spreads her feet apart slightly to stabilize herself, and aims the gun at the target] Copy me.

[seth-peterson]

You just have your kitchen drawers filled with guns? [He shakes his head and gingerly picks up the gun.] What if I shoot my eye out?

[quinn-mckenna]

Yeah. [she shrugs] Well if it helps, I think you'd look pretty good with an eye patch. [Quinn grins and leads him to the tiny shooting range she'd set up behind her cabin] 

[seth-peterson]

You did say that. So what are you waiting for? 

[quinn-mckenna]

Here, I've got a basic gun you can use. [she opens a drawer and pulls out a gun for him, sliding it across the counter.] It's loaded, be careful.

[seth-peterson]

[He bops her on the nose with his finger.] Indeed. Do you have food in here? [Seth gets up and starts going through the cabinets]

[quinn-mckenna]

I think I have some of those nobel prize cookies left, and some chips. [she watches him fumble around] Top left shelf.

[seth-peterson]

I’ll get it eventually. Just watch, I’m going to get a really high score that makes 32 look pathetic.

[quinn-mckenna]
