At work we have some very large projects coming our way because our prospective clients got some huge grants and we will have to hire a bunch of new people for it. I went in to my boss’ office like “this is going to be so chaotic” and got threatened with a promotion

She was basically like “I know you probably don’t want it” and I was like “yeah correct but we both know I’ll be doing more anyway so if I don’t have a choice I might as well get paid more”

lol someone pulled all of the remaining radishes out of the garden and dumped them in the compost bin. I WAS STILL USING THOSE

Isopod sex is occurring

I picked one of the roots to see how bad it is and it’s fine. Tastes like radish.

And the sautéed greens are very tasty but the thorns reaaaally make it feel like you shouldn’t be eating it

We had a couple of heat waves that caused the watermelon radishes I planted in the garden out front to bolt (because I didn’t know anything and just went by the instructions I got on the library seed packet) and I just looked at one that was halfway out of the ground and guess what was eating the root? Native isopods!

I’m trying to grow fancy ones indoors and I’m already growing them outside

I broke down and got another poor quality isopod starter culture from the pet store in the hopes of getting a few more individuals in the colony now instead of waiting for the outdoor temps to drop so I can order them

What ended up happening was I got 2 live ones and 1 dead one, bringing my grand total to 5

These are NOT supposed to be $5 a piece there’s just no other way to get them right now and I want to get the colony going

I got some springtails too
