Natsuki dreaming about Satsuki headcannon list
* Natsuki has a reoccurring dream
* This is before he knew about Satsuki, but still unconsciously felt he was there
* He dreams that he’s opening his eyes
* The room he’s in is sun drenched
* it’s impossible to tell the time from the position and color of the sunlight
* There’s faint, peaceful violin music wafting through the air
* When he listens closely, he can hear it’s a duet
* There’s someone holding him from behind
* He’s sitting in between their legs, his back against their front
* Their arms are wrapped lovingly around his waist, their hands cover his
* Whoever it is, they’re bigger than he is
* Their chin rests on his shoulder
* Natsuki’s whole body shivers
* The voice is so painfully familiar and yet he cannot place it
* He’s had this dream so many times the voice is all it takes for him to know he’s actually asleep
* The person behind him refuses to tell him their name, so he calls them Sirius
* Sirius hums along to the music, the rumble in their chest reverberates through Natsuki and calms him
* They both speak at once
* Natsuki chuckles quitely
* “Sirius, why are you here?”
* “I didn’t mean in general, I already knew that. I mean right now.”
* “Orion, I love you so much, but I can’t talk to you while you’re awake. You’re waking self can’t know about me.”
* “Why? Why not? Please Sirius, I want to know you.”
* Their arms tighten around Natsuki’s waist
* “Because I can’t. I’ll make you unhappy.”
* The music in the background has risen in volume and it sounds near desperate
* Sirius’s chest is shaking
* They don’t speak for several minutes
* The sunlight nudges against Natsuki’s toes
* “Orion, tell me about the stars.”
* Their voice is quiet, head tucked against Natsuki’s shoulder
* He guesses they really do just want to spend time with him
* “You’ve already heard all my stories a dozen times over.”
* “But I love how you tell them, and they’re always a little different each time.”
* They take a deep breath
* He decides to drop it. He loves them, even though they’re so insistent on keeping distance from him
* “Y’know, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky. It’s called the North Star because it’s been used for finding north for years.”
* “Please, Sirius. I want to see you.”
* They let out a long, pained breath, then-
* Suddenly, Natsuki’s eyes open
* He’s really awake this time
* He doesn’t remember what he was dreaming about...
* As soon as the thought crosses his mind he’s hit with an wave of yearning so strong he curls into himself and has to bite down a sob
* Ah, he was dreaming about Sirius again
* He whispers against his pillow in the hope that they’ll hear him somehow
* “We’ll meet one day, Sirius. I promise.”
