Raya hadn’t been back at the Paragon long, but it had been enough to hear about all the madness that had gone on here. Freak storms and a weird mist that sent everyone off the rails? midgard was an adjustment for ivar, he’d been there for a couple months but there were definitely things that were hard for him to completely understand or get used to. because of this, the asgardian mostly spent his time in the surrounding nature - trees were universal and much quieter than their ‘common rooms.’ during his first week in midgard, he found his favorite tree. it was a rather large one, the name of the species he didn’t know but it had a nice indentation that fit him perfectly near the bottom so he could comfortably sit while he wrote. the journal in his hands was half way full which was funny because he got the journal at the beginning of the week, at this rate his room was going to end up a library of his own writings. it was a pretty relaxing day so far, the sun was just at the right position against the leaves where he had the perfect amount of light to write with, that is - until someone stepped into his light causing the entire area to grow a bit darker. instinctively, ivar used his telepathy to speak to the person who had interrupted his writing. “ can you move? “
the one benefit manon had found of her current schedule ; working late nights and sleeping in till mid-morning, was that by the time she was up and out, the sun was reaching it’s daily peak. it was still a few days till the spring equinox was going to hit, an important day to all fae, yet for a winter day -- she could barely fault the weather. she’d chosen to walk in the park, stretch her legs, feel the light breeze through cropped magenta hair and on iridescent wings. for a moment she paused on the path, eyes taken by a small flower growing on the verge. she was preoccupied in and of herself with little consideration to anyone nearby, but that’s just who manon was as a person, they were conceited and selfish to their core. though she was bent over, their spine straightened up they heard a voice in their head -- not unusual for growing up at xaviers’ but unwanted all the same. she stood her ground, oddly crimson eyes glancing around to try and spot the telepath. ‘ ever heard of boundaries? perhaps something called manners? ‘ manon announced, blindly, still unable to spot the asgardian beneath the tree.

“You don’t like it?” Dinah didn’t actually care much for the taste of red bull but it was the type of thing that she could get over easily. “Two pairs of wings might, like, help you stand out more than the one pair already does.” She said with a shrug. “Is it, like, questioning existence? After too much caffeine, that’s the first thing I, uh, think about.”
‘ i have standards, dinah.’ fake tone of disgust to her voice to disguise the actual disgust she held ; she was picky with what went in her body -- or at least, she didn’t consume something if it wasn’t hashtag instagram worthy. ‘ that just makes it worse ; what you need to do, is breathe; eat a portion of chips, or a slice of bread if you wanna be rustic about it, and then punch something. i think it’s rather effective.’

‘ oh, ew. redbull.’ manon’s frown of disapproval contrasted with the somewhat genuine look of concern in magenta hued eyes, ‘ i heard it gave you wings so i never touched the stuff, because no one wants 2 sets of wings -- but you know what i do when i drink too much iced coffee ? other than ugly crying and screaming. ‘
Stretched out on the hard wood floor, Nikki slowly unwrapped the ribbons around her legs. She loved her worn out slippers, but after several hours’ work it felt good to relax their tight grip on her feet. Shoes discarded, she flexed her toes and slowly stood, stretching out each muscle as she did so. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted someone hovering in the doorway. She smiled gently, nodding them forward. “Class is over, if you wanted to use the room. Unless there’s something I can help you with?”
‘ oh good, the timetable did say that the room was free -- ‘ not that manon was much of a dancer, perhaps she could with knives, or for ulterior motives, but she was far from professionally trained ( unless professional included weekly jamming to vintage top of the pops ) ‘ -- not that i want to intrude on your stretching -- important part of dancing, oui ? ‘ spoken as if she knew anything about dancing, ‘ you’re ah -- what, ballet teacher ? ‘

she could have guessed that manon was VAGUELY british, even before she opened her mouth, telltale accent spilling out. it was a particular skill of the irish, honed over years of dealing with the united kingdom as a whole, to be able pinpoint those that came from across the channel almost by look alone. with the english, that meant almost immediate distaste. with the SCOTTISH, a degree of camaraderie. with the welsh… well - they were the ones allotted a kindness reserved for few others. something about the two of them having IMPOSSIBLE languages and a ‘funny little accent’ ( how many times had she heard that one? ) meant that they deserved the kinship. “i’ve got a selection from home,” she wasn’t talking about her own, for once - like ANY good irish bar, gráinne had made sure she could serve a variety of drinks from the ISLES. “and not to sound a bit big for my boots, but i’d wager a guess that the food we have HERE is the closest a girl like you can get to home.”
manon nodded along , pauses in gráinne’s words marked with a small ‘ tidy . ‘ she was clearly somewhat out of it today, or more accurately, in the thick of things. letting her jacket slide off her back, letting her wings loosen with a deep breath that shook the fae to the core. ‘ oh ? any cheesy chips on the menu ? ‘ an innocent question, the number one comfort food that couldn’t be replicated across the pond -- and manon couldn’t count the times they cried and begged for their mum to ‘port them across the ocean to hit all their favourite swansea spots. ‘ ‘s a bit low brow i know but, that and just a pint would be tidy.’

He doesn’t usually resort to drinking to make himself feel better - mostly because it doesn’t always work - but it’s worth a shot today. “You bring a clothes and alcohol with you wherever you go?”
‘ of course; you don’t ? ‘ manon returned, her eyebrow challenging - taunting, nadir, as if always being ready to go out on the lash was something to brag about. she pulls out the alluded to clear bottle of questionable contents. water bottle? vodka bottle ? it is anybody’s guess. even on the best of days. ‘ help yourself, you seem like you need it.’

Felix gets excited immediately when he hears Manon’s familiar signal of their arrival; whipping around to face them. Felix probably could have already guessed before he was even prompted, but he doesn’t even bother. Instead he simply strikes a dramatic pose with his leg stuck out. “Ice cream! Ice cream ou la mort!”
