Sam Reid on Expectations vs Storytelling
Muses appeared in my mind and in the now around me.
I love how the trick-or-treating scene implies that not only do the neighborhood adults and children feel comfortable interacting with Lestat on a nightly basis (despite his eccentricities), but that Lestat has made an effort in becoming such a member of the community. Like, bro was going full Regina George, but he had the decency to pause, go out and buy candy, and answer the door for trick-or-treaters. And not just any amount of candy, but a full-on bucket.
I like to think the neighborhood children view him as like a crazy uncle. Like, "Yeah, that is our neighbor Lestat. We've never seen him outside during the day, Mom swears she saw a coffin being delivered to his apartment, and I'm pretty sure I heard him sobbing into his pillow the other night. But he plays some sick piano bars and gives out the on-brand candy, so he's cool."
#also like we hear one of the band members going ''is that our neighbor?'' after he burst into their rehearsal #like they KNOW who he is #he didn't leave candy out on the stoop #he grabbed the bucket and opened the door and was fully prepared to give candy out despite his turmoil #it just so happened that well. the children weren't in typical halloween costumes #but somehow were tailored to his current fears and struggles #like if they were dressed up as like a cowboy or alien or whatever he'd probably have been nicer #probably
i do love how Lestat is like "I NEVER had a fuckass bob! NEVER!"

Jacob Anderson for EW cover story
As the show explores what makes Lestat tick, Louis will get a new story, one that strays from the source material. Jones felt he had to give Anderson more to do — and the same goes for Delainey Hayles, whose Claudia is back this season, though the "how" is being kept in a locked coffin. (Jones will say that the haunting of the muses is coming "like a f---ing freight train.") What we can say is that Louis isn't quite done grieving his daughter just yet. "Claudia is playing on Louis' mind a lot, and that's something he'll never heal from," Hayles says. "The grief is part of him." "I feel like they so beautifully encapsulated Louis and Claudia's relationship [in season 2,] and I felt like I and Louis got a really definitive sense of closure. And Rolin kept saying to me, even while we were shooting season 2, he was like, 'No, no, there's more there.' And I was like, 'I don't think there is, Rolin.' It took some convincing to get me on board. "It could be a real reboot," he says. "But when we looked at the last image of season 2, we said, 'Seems kinda cute and cuddly, doesn't it? It seems very neat.' We were always looking for, 'How do we drive him back to Lestat?' So we had to put him through something." What exactly they put him through, we can't reveal. But as Anderson adds, "I was shocked. He's having a really, really rough time."
Sam 😭
it’s so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!

Daniel was very lovely. He was like, "Do whatever you want, be you."
"It's nice." - Louis de Pointe du Lac
i can't stop thinking about the parallels between iwtv 1x1 and 3x1 and how in both episodes we see both characters living unhappily, lonely even when surrounded by people, without proper support system and spiralling. and then at the end when they are at their lowest one of them has the right person walk in and the other the wrong one
