If you ship Lucius Spriggs x Izzy Hands, why?

This is a genuine question to all the sprizzy shippers, because I sincerely never understood the appeal. In the first season they only ever had hostile exchanges, yet already then, people would ship the two.

I would often see the image of a deleted scene, where Izzy was violently grabbing Lucius by the hair and the latter had a painful expression on his face. The image was used as a sort of example of their ship, but why? One party was being violent towards the other and the other seemed uncomfortable/pained by it?

Sure, they were a little less hostile towards each other in season 2, but once again, they didn't have many 1on1 conversations, only 2 that I can think of. During one of them, Izzy smoked a cigarette that was in Lucius' mouth and then proceeded to put it back there, but Lucius slapped it away in distress. During the other, Izzy gave Lucius a wooden shark and told him to let go of his trauma, which was somewhat sweet.

In conclusion, I just can't see the appeal of their ship. Can someone who ships them explain their view of why they find the ship so appealing? Why do you ship them?

After letting the ending simmer a little, I feel my thoughts on it have changed. While I don't hate the ending we got, I'm starting to like it less and less.

A part of it may be because I am a long time fan, watched the show almost immediately after it released and screamed my lungs out when they announced season 2. I wanted nothing more than a good ending for them, one, where they could live together for the next 6000 years in a lovely cottage, own a cat and a dog and go around meeting new people. It would have been beautiful, but the ending we got was far from it. I tried to be satisfied with it, but truth be told, as a fan, I am growing a little disappointed.

I don't think them turning into humans was a bad decision, nor the destruction of heaven and hell, I don't like how they destroyed the entire world and started over from scratch, everyone died, all the characters that we loved. If I were to rewrite the ending, I'd make it that they destroy heaven and hell and release all the angels and demons into the world as humans. Perhaps they could have done it in a very season 1 key and given them all an empty sheet, where they could create a sort of human identity for themselves. Take charge of their life, be free.

Or they could have become these neutral guardian spirits or mysterious creatures that roam the earth, but that's a lot more fantastical and may have not fit the overall vibe.

They way I'm starting to see it, is that God and Satan made countless mistakes maintaining the world and now almost everyone had to die for their mistakes. I understand having to fundamentally pick everything apart to start over, but that was more scrapping everything and starting over.

The positive I saw to the ending we got was that yes, Aziraphale and Crowley died and the humans that looked like them were just that, mere humans who looked like them. As it meant to symbolize them sacrificing themselves so two humans could live a better life. It's a beautiful message, it was a very them ending, but it just didn't feel like the entire show was building up to that. Had it been a different show from the start, it would have been fine, I suppose, but this just wasn't it.

Goodness, I don't think I have never had this many conflicting thoughts about a piece of media before.

Maybe the reason so many people are upset with the good omens finale is due to our own fear of mortality?

I mean, Crowley and Aziraphale finally got to be together without heaven and hell stepping on their heels all the time. They finally bought that cottage, got married and enjoyed the rest of their mortal life in each other's company. That's exactly what so many fans wanted, just without the mortal part.

Do we think it's because the idea of death is just so tragic to us? The idea of them one day dying, just sounds so tragic, when that is the end all of us will one day see.

And I truly understand that fear. However, I think this ending was actually a good one. In fact, immortality to me sounds so much more scary than dying after living a fulfilling life with the one you love. I think this ending was truly ideal. The idea of going to heaven or hell has been eliminated from the world.

The whole system was broken and needed to be destroyed and rebuilt. I think that too is very symbolic.
