The townspeople experience winter almost all around the year, thanks to the vast mountain range which drops the temperature to sub zero.
Sadly, you never seems to get used to the cold like the other residents. Your hand would freeze when exposed to the air. You get frostbite when you spends too much time outside. In severe cases, you develops a harsh cold when your body can't withstand the town's plummeting temperatures.
Your parents took you for medical examinations for it, and the results revealed that you has a lower count of red blood cells compared to people who live in cold climates. Your body lacks the necessary resources and immunity to combat the cold. In short, your body is not suited for cold conditions.
Which is a sick twisted joke for someone who were born and raised in one.
Your parents solution is to send you away to a warmer place. You attended an all-girls high school on the opposite side of the country, near the sea, where you also ended up spent your college days. You couldn't say you hated it; you cherished the freedom of spending your days outdoors without constant worry about frostbites—you still wary of it and you will always grateful for everything your parent did—but as lovely as it is, nothing’s lovelier than home.
Home. Yes, this place which’s constantly threatened to kill you is ironically your home.
The snow was already starting to sprinkle down as you drove your car from the local grocery store to the town’s diner. You have been in town for 3 months now. You was running low on heat suppressants, another thing you pick up after coming back from Welmore.
Most time you spent on Welmore was filed with scent blocker and heat suppressant. It was quite a cultural shock for you—not like it was a cultural thing—, the people in your village never really care for who you are—this, or they just good at controlling their dicks—as long as you’ve done your part, no one will cross your path.
But You-unfortunately or fortunately- had a model body for an omega. Your face is as pretty as an actress. Your frame is soft and your hands tiny, and it is not easy living in a big city as a village hottie. Alphas flocks everywhere you go. Even the adults when they clearly know you’re a minor.
Shitty pricks. You hate them so much.
But that’s just how the society works, being a woman is bad enough but being an omega is even worst. It means you are in the last hierarchical system. Nothing you do would make that much difference. You hate it. You hate the idea of submission to a human being because of something against your control and you constantly raging and fighting against your nature.
Unfortunately, this mindset drove you to develop quite a character, though in your defense you can blame it on your alpha mother. You inherit every fiery aspect of her, excluding the most important one—her alpha status.
Despite being an omega, You had the personality of an alpha and you had yet to find an actual one either patient enough to put up with your shit or powerful enough to actually make you submit. In other words, you are a difficult omega, and that was an extremely unattractive thing.
The world want a pomeranian, too bad this one is a pitbull. Now you are blooming 28 and still single, unmated, and seriously frustrated.
All you want is to be treated and seen as an equal, not just a sextoy or baby maker. But no one seems to want that from you.
Ignoring your misery, you park your car and went to the diner where your favorite duo in the world has been waiting for you. Ace and Deuce waving their hands upon seeing you enter.
“Good day, lovely lady.” Tease Ace.
“Oh, shush.” You playfully brushed him off before attacking him with a bear-hug, which elicited a pained sound from Ace.
You give Deuce’s cheek a quick peck before taking your seat. “How's your wife, Deuce?” You begin the conversation.
“We just got our ultrasound yesterday and found out about the gender. Expect a gender reveal party in the near future, yeah?”
“Shit, we're gonna be aunt and uncle.” You hit Ace’s shoulder lightly.
“Gonna prepare myself some tricks for the baby.” Ace chirps in.
“Please don't do that—” Deuce complain. “—Enough about me, we're here for Ace.”
The man in question lean on his chair with a smug expression.
“Goodness, so much arrogant for a single win.” You roll your eyes.
“Excuse you, this is our third?!“
You and Deuce laugh.
That's right. They were all gathered here because Ace, who was usually away due to his basketball games, finally had some free time to visit his hometown. His team had just secured another victory in the national tournament, marking three consecutive years. Their coach granted them a month off, and Ace decided to use this time to catch up with his friends, especially after you had made the decision to move back to your hometown, Cesterfield.
Chitter-chatter filled the table, as they shared updates on their life events. You take a moment to look at your friends, dearly. Who would've thought they would ended up like this. Two losers who used to be the teachers favorite for discipline now can be considered as having a successful lives. One being a professional basketball athlete and the other one–albeit small in comparison–landed himself to be a town sheriff. Something he always dreamed of.
As for you, after being a corporate slave and found yourself nowhere for over 6 years you decided to quit and chase your dream to be a writer. Your first book surprisingly did well and become one of the best seller, earning a shock from people around you and even yourself as you never suspected yourself for being a good writer.
You were currently in the process of writing the sequel and had made the decision to return home, considering your work could be done anywhere now.
“I heard there would be a blizzard soon.” Ace rubbed his face. “And just when i finally have time to came home.” he sigh. Feeling defeated.
“What can you say, the town is not that merciful to not give us any trouble.” Deuce replied.
Ace divert his eyes to you. “Do you still experiences cold on blizzard?”
You shrugged. “Sometimes. Not as bad as when i was kid, though.”
Ace let out another sigh.
“Oh, come on. It's not like it is the first time for me. I'm used to it.” You tried to reassure your friend.
“Yeah, but do you really want to be like that forever?”
Of course not. But what choice does you have.
“Are you sure you don't want to do the other option?” Deuce ask.
The other option. Yes. A Mate.
All you problem will be solved if only you had a mate.
The rules of this world allow mates to share each other’s intense pain and emotions when needed. This was possible because mates shared a bond stronger than blood. In other words, you could share the cold to your mate, granting more immunity for yourself.
But you have several problem for that.
First, how could you possibly share this excruciating pain with others? How could you make your own mate suffer when you could barely endure this relentless cold yourself, despite dealing with it for 28 years? Imagine being happy to finally finding a mate only to be revealed that you only needed to share pains. You can't bring yourself to do that.
Second, you rather freeze yourself to death rather than having a possibility to marry a disgusting Alpha who smoked cigarettes and rambled about masculinities when they can’t even differentiate between 5 and 11 inches. With their head shape like lightbulb.
“No.”
“Come on. Think about it again?”
You look visibly annoyed. you don't understand why Ace is so persistent. It is your problem. You got his worry, but it wasn't something he should be meddling in.
“Please don't talk like my mother.” you complain.
“I'm just worried about you.” Ace replied.
You furrowed her eyebrows in annoyance. “Why don't you marry me then?!”
You words briefly took Ace aback before his eyes widened. “Shit, do we really need to?”
“We don't need to truly perform any marriage duties. We can just coexist.”
“You know damn well that's not how it works.”
There have been ongoing discussions about a potential marriage between your families for quite some time. The fact that you are an omega and Ace is an alpha who hasn't yet found a mate made both of you perfect candidates for matchmaking. People believed that the reason you two hadn't mated was simply that you hadn't realized your feelings for each other and just needed a little push. In reality, you both fully recognized your feelings, but those feelings were never romantic. Both of you understood that being together wouldn't work, no matter how much time passed. You were too fearful of the idea of mating, and Ace was too emotionally detached for a long-term commitment.
You two are a ticking time bomb.
“Fine. If we haven’t settled with anyone when both of us turn 29, we’re getting married. How’s that?” Offer Ace.
You look at this man like he grow a second head.
“Deal.” And you shake hands.
Because when you think about it further, it’s not a bad offer. You both can go on with your merry life without constantly getting bombarded with question about marriage AND you don’t have to deal with a stinky Alpha. Either that, or deep down you know that this is just a drunk deal and they would never get married without a chaotic rejection show where you shave his hair off.
“As someone who's married and perform my duties seriously, I am very offended by this conversation.”
Both of you laugh at Deuce comment.
Deuce is a happy beta with a beta wife who he’s been head over heels for since high school. A wonderful high school sweetheart. You wish you could be that happy.
“Speaking of, someone new recently settled in town.” Deuce add.
“Oh? New face~ who’s the unlucky guy?” Ace asked.
Deuce sips his drink. “Remember the old Warner gramps who sells flower down the street? Yeah, someone will re-open the shop.”
You gasp. You always loves flowers and greenery. Sadly, the town is too cold to grow many. Growing up, you are one of the shop’s frequent customers and you even befriended the old grandpa. Sometime you help him out on his shop as well. The grandpa jokes to build you a bedroom there with how much you visit.
But the shop closed when you were 12 because of grandpa’s decreasing health. He moves away with his son to another city and that’s how you lost one of your good friend.
“So we’re gonna have our one and only flower shop back?” You clasp your hands excitedly.
Deuce nodded. “Apparently, he’s old Warner’s nephew. Not just that, he want to open a cafe with it as well. The man came to my office yesterday for the permit.”
“A cafe? What kind?”
“Dunno, a small cafe he said. Just to accompany his flower shop.”
“Oh, so like a flower cafe!”
Ace clicked his tongue. “Enough with the boring question. That’s not what important—” He scooted his chair to be closer to Deuce. “—Tell me, what kind of man is he?”
“Uh.. He’s..tall?” Said Deuce, confused.
Ace clicked his tongue again. “Like i care about that.” He wave his hand. “Tell, what kinda guy he is? An Alpha? Beta? Omega?”
“Oh he’s an Alpha.”
“What kind of Alpha?”
“What kind? How many kind of them there?” Deuce protested. “How am I supposed to know, I’m not an Alpha.”
Ace rubbed his face. “Sheriff, aren’t you supposed to know every face in our area? What i mean is what kind of dude he is? Is he a jock? A himbo? An arrogant, or what? What first impression you get from him?”
“Oh.” Deuce take a moment to think. “He speaks in riddles.”
“Perfect!” Ace beamed. He turn himself to you. “That is the perfect Alpha for you!”
“Excuse me?” you ask, both confused and offended.
“We need to get there now.”
“What are you talk—sit down!” You pull him down after he tried to get up.
“The store hasn’t even opened yet, you idiot!” Deuce smack Ace’s head with folded newspaper.
Seriously, you really can’t believe this man. He’s 28 but act like 5 over a new toy. You’re rethinking your choice to marry him.
You sighed.
To be honest, Ace is not the only one who’s curious about the shop. It’s been a while since you’ve been there and you wonder how everything is after all these years. Does it still have the window seats in the back of the shelves where you used to take a nap in? Or does they still have the secret shelf behind the chasier counter where you used to hide your candies?
You are so excitedly curious. You hopes the new owner will let you reminisce your childhood memories.
Petals and Pastries.
That’s what the sign says.
You have been staring at the shop sign for 3 minutes and if the shopkeeper found it weird, he hasn’t say anything.
Initially, you only intended to take a brief stroll around the neighborhood to clear your mind. You have been confined to you room for a full day, attempting to write your book, but inspiration had eluded you. It was your restless legs that ultimately guided you to this place.
You had been so curious to go yet you have no idea what to do when you’re actually here.
The door swung open and startled you, but you did a good job hiding your surprise.
A guy popped out from the shop and asked “Have you decided to come in?“
He had a short turquoise-green hair with a black stripe on its left, an intriguing color combination but what made you even more astonished was the fact that this man had heterochromatic eyes.
Black and yellow look at your eyes and give a little deja vu.
“It's delightful to have a lovely lady appreciating my shop, yet it would be even more pleasing should she opt to bestow me with a visit.” Those enchanting eyes radiates a playful gleam.
HE SPEAKS IN RIDDLES. DEUCE WAS RIGHT.
You always been good at putting up a facade that you’re able to recover quickly from you shock. But that’s not your fault, okay? This man is gorgeous!
“Are you the owner of the shop?” You tried to keep your tone nonchalant while still maintaining friendliness.
He smile. “Jade Leech, at your service.”
“Not Warner?”
“Warner is my mother’s name.”
“Oh.”
You entered the shop and took a moment to observe your surroundings.
The place had undergone a remarkable transformation, yet the essence of the old building you once knew still lingered. The window seat, which had retained its place, was now repurposed as one of the cafe’s seating options.
You smile.
“Is the shop to your liking?”
Jade asked. “I used to came here a lot when i was kid.”
“Did you?” Jade smile, only now you realized how he looked. He’s wearing an apron with ‘Petals and Pastries’ print on top of a baby blue sweater with pale white pants. He looks.. cozy. And cute.
Oh, screw that.
“How’s the old man doing?”
“Are you asking about my uncle? He’s doing great. In the pink of health, despite the confines of a wheelchair.“ Jade answered as he walked towards the counter. “Would you like a drink?”
You only planned to buy some flowers and head home, but perhaps it's not a bad idea to reminisce about old memories for a while. You chose the window seat, allowing you to sit and gaze at the view outside. “Yes, please.”
“Alright, what would you like?”
“Recommend me.”
“Today’s menu would be Vanilla Almond Hot Cocoa, I highly recommend savoring it alongside our delectable cookies.”
‘our’ who.
“Sounds great.” You allow yourself to immerse in the soothing melodies emanating from the speakers, while Jade busied himself preparing your order. ‘Mindy Gledhill’ you think. ‘A good choice.’
“So, where did you come from, Mr. Leech?” You ask him while he serve your order.
“Please, feel free to address me as Jade. And to answer your question, I am from Welmore.”
“What? You’re from Welmore?”
“Yes, is there any problem?”
You furrowed your brow. Why have you never crossed paths with him in Welmore? You spends 70% of your days outside due to your work, yet you’re absolutely certain you’ve never encountered him. Why, you may wonder? It's because you would never forget a handsome face if you ever see one.
“No, it’s just— I spent 10 years in Welmore and I never run into you. That’s why i am a little startled, that’s all.”
“Well, Welmore is a pretty big city. There’s always a possibility to meet someone you never met.“ Jade answered with a smile on his face.
Can’t argue with that.
“So why did you come to Cesterfield then?”
Jade placed one hand on his chin and the other cross his chest. “Oh? Never knew this would be an interview.”
You flinched. “Um, sorry. I didn’t meant it like that. You don’t have to answer me if you don’t want to.”
Jade chuckles. “It’s alright. No specific reason, I just feel a little suffocated in the big city and it always been my dream to explore the mountains. Lucky for me, my uncle has a house in Cesterfield and he offer me to take care of it so here I am.”
You sipped your drink to calm your nerves. You couldn't determine whether your uneasiness was due to his captivating chuckle or the peculiar idea of exploring a snowy mountain for your trip to nature.
By the way, the drink was exquisite.
For some strange reason, Petals and Pastries now becoming your second office.
Whenever you found yourself stuck on your writing, you would come to the shop and take your work there. But you did it nearly everyday, people think you are the co-founder of the shop. The window seat is unofficially your throne. It’s even weirder not to see you there at some point.
You loves the cafe. The ambiance is so cozy, the smell of flowers and freshly brewed coffee calm your mind, the music choice is great, the menus are exquisite and Jade is a good conversation-ist.
Oh, that man.
You get along really well. Too well, in fact.
He knows what he’s talking about and you loves clever speakers. You discovered more and more about him as you talked to each other.
He said he was born and raise in Welmore. He major in botany and has a strange obsession over mushrooms, one of the reason why he loves nature and want to explore the mountains. He used to be the deputy head at the famous Mostro Lounge, a fancy dining spot in Welmore that you couldn't have dreamt of affording back then. It's no wonder you never crossed paths – you was basically a nobody in those days and based on how he talk and behave, he must be a pretty big shot.
Anyway, lucky for him, those experiences turned him into quite the cook. The other day, he whipped up something off the menu when you mentioned you hadn't had lunch, and oh boy, it was an incredibly delicious meal.
Dad couldn’t even make meal that good, sorry dad.
Also, he is very different from any other alpha you ever met. He is soft spoken and well-mannered. He knows how to manage his house and business. He take great care of the flowers, he cooks, he cleans and more importantly, he likes to wear pastel colors!
On one of those days you found your inner omega squeaking in your head.
/A soft alpha! A good alpha!/
/Good mate!/
Sometimes you wonder how it would feel to be embraced by him. Where he pick you up and sit you down at the counter and be kiss and caress carefully like you made of porcelain only to be ruined senseless when he—AAAARRRGGGHH STOP THAT!!
Stupid animal instinct!
You banged your head on the table and made a loud bang.
It startles both Jade and the customer who just got her drink. She hurriedly exited the shop while passing you a judging eyes. You might hear a little mumble “Weirdo.” there.
Jade approached you with a worried look on his face. “Are you alright?”
He reached out his hand to your forehand but you immediately jumped up.
“I AM ALRIGHT!”
Oops. That comes out louder than it should.
But you can’t think clearly right now. Your face is as red as a tomato and your whole body is ablaze. He is too close to your liking and you needs to get out before you lost your mind completely and jump him right here and there. He gets finer by each breath you takes, you even imagined a halo around his head.
“S-sorry, that was unnecessary. I-I gotta go right now. See you next time.” You grabs your belongings and bolt out the room before Jade has a chance to say anything.
God. You are such a dick-hungry omega.
Fuck you and your life.
Fuck your destiny and fuck the higher power for always challenging you.
You are currently trapped in your car, stranded in the middle of the road, as the blizzard raged down from the sky. It was supposed to start tomorrow, which is why you’re hustled to get everything ready before locking yourself in the comfort of your house.
It was partly your fault. You hadn't checked today's forecast, and clearly, you hadn't managed your time properly. You had only gotten the opportunity to prepare a day before the blizzard.
“Ah, fuck.” Your parents were out of town, Ace had returned to his matches, and the only person you could think of was Deuce. However, your phone had run out of battery, and you had forgotten to bring your charger.
Your hands began to freeze. Your whole body is shaking and the car’s heater doesn’t do much to fight the cold.
This is it, it would be the end of your life. You began to pray to every single god out there and you swear whoever got your voicemail today is the one you would start believing on monday.
As you started to lose consciousness, you spotted someone attempting to open your car door in your blurred vision. They were knocking on the door frantically, and you could hear them shouting. You felt yourself pressing the unlock button with what little strength you had left.
In your hazy state, you caught a whiff of a familiar ocean scent and a voice urging you to stay awake, or perhaps it was just your imagination, before finally slipping into unconsciousness.
“She is currently asleep. I will take her home after the blizzard end.”
You heard a faint voice as you started to regain consciousness.
“Yes, Ma’am. I will tell her to call you back when she’s awake.”
You tried to get up from the bed and bunch of heat packs fell off of you. Pain start jabbing your head.
You heard footsteps approaching. “You’re awake. It’s fine, don’t forces yourself. Rest more.” Jade crouched beside the bed and adjusted your blanket.
Wait- Jade?
It was only then that you took in your surroundings. You are lying in a bedroom that was clearly not yours. Your shoes and socks were off, as were your coat, leaving you in just your jeans and sweater. You sat on a spacious, unusually warm bed – a heated bed, you realized, much like the one in your own bedroom.
“You were in my house, in my bedroom. Second floor of the shop.” As if answering your question, Jade said.
“You saved me.” You said with a hoarse voice. “Thank you.”
Jade smiled. "There's no need to mention it. Anyone would have done the same.”
No. Not everyone would have the time to save someone in the middle of a crazy blizzard. The fact that he was there was weird enough, but you weren’t about to start questioning you savior now, were you?
"I charged your phone, and your mother wouldn't stop calling, so I answered it. I just informed her that you had fallen asleep in my cafe. You'll need to explain the truth to her yourself. The sheriff also called, and I assured him that you were safe.”
“You are so considerate. Thank you.”
Jade smiled and tuck your hair behind your ear, a gesture that would make you scream under normal circumstances, sadly you’re too exhausted now.
"Rest some more. I'll make you soup when you wake up."
His words work like an enchantment on you, and you quickly drifted back to sleep.
You two are closer than ever now.
You started coming by even more frequently than you already did. You assisted him around the cafe and shop when needed and often helping him open the shop. You basically live there.
“Just date him already.” Deuce told you once.
You blushed.
It's not like that.. Their relationship is not like that..
Despite being closer than ever now, your relationship with him remained that of close friends. He was your savior, and you are his companion. You might exchange more than the necessary texts and fall asleep to each other's voices on the phone or gift each other trinkets but that's just the extent of it.
Nothing special.
You had grown so accustomed to his company that it felt strange for him not to respond to your morning texts. You decided to go to his place and was surprised when you saw the sign 'closed'.
Has something happened to him? Why didn't he tell you about any of this?
[Are you alright?]
[The shop is closed.]
You sent those messages 15 minutes ago and has been standing in front of the shop's door since, yet there is still no response.
He might just be tired or have some business to attend to that prevents him from opening the shop, but you feels somewhat uneasy.
“Jade.” You try to called out his name.
No answer.
You try to peek through a little gap on the blinds when you saw a feet popped out. It seems like Jade is standing on the opposite sides of the door.
“Jade? Are you alright?” Still no answer. You start to get worried.
Then you heard an unlocking sounds, and the door opened slightly. You immediately stepped in.
As you entered the shop, you were hit by an overwhelming wall of scent.
It was a scent you used to smell every day, but now it is ten times stronger than it used to be. A familiar blend of freshness and salt, with a subtle hint of musk that transported you back to the days you spent by the sea in Welmore.
Jade’s pheromones.
He’s standing 1 meter away from you and his appearance is so different from how he usually looks. His clothes looks disheveled, his hair messy and his eyes—
The eyes! They are glowing.
Shit.
Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit.
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t able to open the cafe today. You can comeback tomorrow.”
You knew you should run away immediately after hearing those words. Every nerve in you brain urged you to leave before he changed his mind and chasing you down like the vicious beast that alpha was. Yet, your whole body refused to move, while your inner omega screamed at you.
/STRONG ALPHA/
/BIG ALPHA/
/MATE MATE MATE MATE MATE/
Curse you primal instinct!
You felt something dripping from your lower area just as Jade covered his mouth and nose. He stumbled down the steps and had to lean on the counter for support.
“Please.. You need to go.”
His rut start affecting you too. You can feel your vision goes blurry and your mind goes blank.
Jade is kind. Jade is good.
He’s good alpha right?
And he saved my life before. Shouldn’t I return the favor?
You don’t even know if that is really your right mind talking. Everything feels so hazy and you’re so high you think you’re drunk.
Jade still trying to stay as far away as he can from you. He let out some grunts and groans while still trying to cover his nose.
Suddenly, you found herself reaching out to touch his back. You couldn't even remember how you got there. Jade turned his head, and he didn't even look human anymore. You’re not sure if your eyes were playing tricks on you, but you could have sworn his pupils sharpened like a snake's for a split second there.
Are alphas supposed to be like that? You couldn’t remember anything anymore.
“It’s okay, Jade.” You really have lost your mind. “I-I’ll help.”
Jade turn himself to you. You placed both of your hands on his upper arm. Eyes looked drunk and sober at the same time. “I will help.”
Your brain continued to scream at you to run. Jade was not in his right mind now, and he wouldn't be able to control himself. Sleeping with an alpha was dangerous enough for an omega, but an alpha in a rut? He wouldn't be able to resist the urge to bite you, and both of you would regret everything when you were sober.
Yet the thought of being marked by him doesn’t seem like a bad idea for you.
Jade slammed his mouth to you and kiss you like his life depended on it. He sucked your breath out of you and turn your knees to jelly. Your kiss was so messy drools coming out from the gap between your mouth. He pick you up and place you on the counter only to continue devouring your mouth with his fiery kiss. He start to move his kisses to your jaw and neck, lingering a little longer on the neck as he drown on you scent.
He groans. “You smell so good.”
You felt one of his hand roam around your body before stopping at your pants.
“Lift your hips for me, love.”
And how could you say no to such endearing command?
He removed your pants and underwear in one swift motion. You nearly faint when he suddenly touch your folds. You jolted and your entire body shook.
He chuckled. A rumbling voice that vibrates through his chest. “Sorry, dear. I am afraid I can’t be slow today.”
He continue to play with your folds and you can’t hide your moans any longer.
Fuck, that feels so good.
You hadn’t get laid with anyone for over a year, you thinks. The last man you had laid with was a beta you randomly met at a bar. You left only a round after he hadn’t manage to make you come.
A pretty unsatisfying ending.
But, this! Oh, yes. This!
This is heaven!
You always know sleeping with alpha would be so different from any beta no matter how good they are. They simply cannot compete with them. Especially if you find the right one. Your omega friends always describe it as ‘not only satisfying but also blissful’. You never consider to sleep with an alpha before as you’re afraid of the risk of getting marked but now you found yourself questioning you past self and wondering why you hadn't done this sooner.
He inserted his finger and start moving it in and out of you. You let out a loud moan. He hadn’t even put it in yet but you’re already on cloud nine.
Is it because of the pheromones? Or is it because he is Jade?
You don’t realized that your top was long gone along with your bra and now Jade’s sucking on one of your nipples.
"So sweet." He purrs.
It’s dizzying. You can’t think. Jade is attacking you from every nerves you have. He’s touching everywhere like he trying to remember your body and left a blazing trail in every area he touch.
He let go of your nipples and looked at you seriously. “Once I start, I won’t be able to stop. My love, are you sure about this?”
You’re shocked at how he manages to ask a sober question in the middle of this. But you’re too far to back away.
You reach out your hand for his face and kiss him softly. “I’ll be in your care for the next twenty four hours, then.”
Jade’s entire demeanor changed and you jolted. His pheromones got so much stronger all of a sudden. It makes you thrashing and shaking out of control. If his scent is overwhelming before, it is on a whole new level now. His presence alone is too much for you. You want to run, and you want to stay. Your friends always told you that alpha’s pheromones can be too powerful but you never thought it would be this much. You felt delirious.
You don’t even realize the pressure that currently pressing your opening as you’re drowned in his scent. Allowing Jade to put it in a single thrust and you bit your hand to prevent yourself from screaming.
Too big.
Too much. Too much.
/TOO GOOD/
He’s pressing in all the right place. Exploring every area you never knew you had.
Jade put your hand away. “Don’t cover your mouth. Let me hear your voice.”
But you are in his shop right now. Everyone who passes by the street will hear you.
Every thought in your head evaporates when Jade start moving. He set his pace fast, you felt the counter rattles below you. You throws your head back and roll your eyes.
So good. This is so good.
You wish you could tell him that but you can’t find your voice to speak when he continue ramming you.
Jade keeps his mouth busy as he thrusts his hips forward. Your face, your chest, your legs, there is no area escape from his sight. Now he is dangerously close to your scent gland and it makes you nervous. He seems so drunk and he keep licking and sucking there. You could saw his shark teeth—huh?— grew sharper as his move began to go faster.
A little piece of your rational mind knew you need to stop him but you’re too far from reality. You can’t even form a coherent words. This is it. This is going to be your last day as a free omega. You are fated to be obedient to your alpha in the future. You close your eyes and braces yourself for the pain and horror you might have to face.
But the pain never come. Only pleasure from his continuous thrust that still goes through your body.
You opened your eyes slowly to see what’s going on. You saw blood dripping to your shoulder and stained the counter. But it wasn't yours.
Somehow, Jade still able to control his right mind and bit his own hand. He bit it quite hard from the amount of blood streaming out of his hand. You has to applaud this man for every self control he had on himself.
But most importantly, you had to calm down your inner omega.
/A CONSIDERATE ALPHA/
/WHAT WE WANT/
/WHAT WE NEED/
Oh god help me. You lose your mind you can’t handle it any longer. He continue to shock you with every move he does.
He pick you upstairs after the steamy cafe scene and you will be forever grateful because you don’t think you can cover your mouth any longer.
Moans, screams and shouts filled the room that day.
You do not remember how many times you two did it. What you did remember was how you saw stars after stars and visit galaxies after galaxies with him. Every time he had an urge to bite you, he will bite his own hand and draw more blood. You never knew your first experience with an alpha would be quite bloody but you will never regret your decision as it is the best experience you ever had in your life.
If someone asking you what you’re thinking right at this moment, The answer would be a plan on how to end up being caress by those hands again.
Hmm.. Look at you, acting like an animal that you are.
You don’t really care though, he’s hot as fuck.
After that juicy day, your life went as if that day never happen. It makes you quite annoyed but also glad things does not turn awkward between you and him.
He have a lot more costumer today than usual. Probably because the weather is getting warmer and people can go outside without the need to worry about blizzard anymore.
What you did these past few days you ask? Glaring at every woman—or man— that is openly flirting at him.
A woman tried to get handsy with him, and you gave her the deadliest glare you could muster. Perhaps the woman sensed the ominous aura behind her, as she immediately left the shop.
This pitbull is quite territorial.
/OUR ALPHA/
/OUR MATE/
Your inner omega barking.
“You might ended up scaring my customers away if you keep those glares.” Jade speak.
“And yet you didn’t seems to mind.”
You’re not joking; instead of being uncomfortable or angry, this man keeps smiling, nonstop. He's even beaming, to the point that the girls and gals get even more flirty. And you, even more antsy.
“How could I not?” He said.
You lower your gaze at his hand that covered in bandages with a duck drawing—your masterpiece—on it.
“How’s your hand?” You ask.
Jade pointed at the drawing. “The duck makes it better.”
“I am glad it help you get better.” He chuckles.
“Yes, though it’s a shame that it has to heal, it seems I can’t see your amazing bandaging skills in action anymore.”
You blushed slightly. “Well, you can’t have the injury forever.”
“I don’t mind having bandages if the reason for such bandages is an act full of bliss with you.”
You coughs on your coffee.
Why don’t I give you a bondages instead, sir?
Memories from that day began to emerge in your head and you turn red.
You can vividly recall every scene but also can’t. You remember that you passed out at some point in your activities and you kinda glad that you did because that man is a beast. He has inhumane stamina and strength. Good thing alpha rut only last for 24 hours or you could’ve died back then.
You stood up and gathered all your belongings.
You had an appointment with Deuce's wife regarding the gender reveal party today. You decided to help her prepare for the party—an act to get closer to her since you weren’t around when she were in high school, and you weren't particularly close during middle school either.
“Alright then, I hope you get better soon. See you next time.”
You hurriedly walked to the door, your hand reaching for the handle before it slammed shut in front of you. Jade's hand prevented you from opening it.
A hush fell over the room as you stood there in silence. Jade moved his hand, wrapping it around your body, and now, he hugged you from behind, pulling you closer until your back met his front.
You can feel his hot breath against your neck as he pressed open-mouthed kisses along your neck and ear.
“You seems to have a habit of running away when something did not go your way.” He whispered. His low voice successfully sent shiver down your spine.
Is this man crazy? They are in front of the transparent glass door. Everyone who glances this way would see them.
“Tell me, love. What should I do to make you stay?”
“I-I can’t. I have an appointment with Deuce’s wife to shop for her baby’s party.”
He sucked your most sensitive spot, which is an area right behind your ear and you lost your footing.
He really remembered every part of your body and how to turn your head into mush just with a few touch. Jade’s continue to leave trails of kisses on you. He play around your ear and playfully blow air to your earlobes. But what you loves the most is when he pressed his nose against your skin and take a deep breath.
The groan he makes always succeeds to make your legs quiver.
You felt an odd satisfaction when he act like he just takes on powerful drugs and now high from your scent.
Screw your appointment, you won’t even remember why you need to go in the first place at this point.
“Alright, I’ll see you tomorrow then.”
… huh? Sorry?
Jade release his hand around you and fully withdrawn.
Leaving you dumbfounded.
You are speechless.
What the fuck is wrong with him?
After getting you all rile up now he just gonna leave it like that?
An annoyed expression might be clearly shown on your face because the man titled his head innocently.
Fine, if that what’s he want, two can play the game.
You stomp out of the shop with a very visible sour mood.
Unaware of the biggest grin that follows you.
“Hehe, cute.”
“Ah..”
How you ended up in this position, again?
You didn't want to come initially, but you are petty and wanted to be spiteful, so you headed to the cafe as you usually did. Your plan was just to order a cup of hot chocolate and return home.
Then why does you found yourself bending on the wall as Jade ramming you from behind?
He reach out for your lips and you cannot deny his kiss.
You are both fully clothed. Jade only shove your legging down your thighs and your panties aside before shoving himself in you.
You let out a loud squeak and Jade’s hand immediately cover your mouth.
“As much as I love your voice, we need to keep it low, dear.”
You shut your mouth. Suddenly aware of your surroundings. You are currently in the storeroom. A little place behind the counter. Again, don’t ask how he successfully seduce you here because you don’t know.
Jade pick up his pace and you bit his hand—why there’s always biting when you are doing intercourse—. Your moans muffled by his hand but you’re not sure if the sound of skin on skin can’t be heard from outside the room since it’s quite loud.
Fuck. You can't keep this up forever, right? A customer might walk in at any moment, you better speed things up.
“Hurry, Jade.” You whispered. He move faster and harder, it makes your eye rolled back in ecstasy.
Holy god, you would never grow accustomed to his size. It’s painful and delicious at the same time.
You came with a hard thrust. Jade followed after few more thrusts. You slumped down as you cannot handle your own weight and Jade catch you.
He planted several kisses on your hair when the doorbell rings.
“Excuse me.” A woman’s voice rang from behind the door.
You tensed. Jade give you a quick peck to calm you down before he gets out. “Wait here for a couple minutes before going out, okay?”
And here you stand. Dumbfounded. Bewildered. Confused as to just what the hell happened. But also satisfied, yet again.
You know what, you don’t care anymore. The customer went some time ago and you can get out so that’s what you did.
You cannot bring yourself to see him and avoid his direction at all time. Preparing to run from the cafe as soon as possible.
“Ack-“ you let out a surprise yelp when he hugged you tight from behind.
“Where do you think you’re going?” He ask with a biggest smile on his lips. He sway your body left and right playfully.
“I want to go home.” You try to wiggle away.
“Why don’t stay?”
“I never intended to stay long.”
“Why~”
You are the reason, you stupid. Look at those stupid grins. He looks way too happy for your own liking it’s turn your face even redder.
“Let me go.” You protested.
“No~”
Ugh. No hope. No matter how much you resist, you cannot wiggle your way out of his grasp. He’s way stronger.
“Fine. You win. Now let me go, it’s suffocating.” He released you immediately and you stumbled forward.
Annoying prick.
“Have you had lunch?”
“Yes.”
“You’re not good at being a liar, love.”
You flinched. “I am not lying.”
He pointed towards the clock. “The clock just turned 12, and you came in an hour ago. You ordered a hot chocolate instead your usual coffee. You opt to go back home immediately and that’s how you haven’t had lunch.”
Curse this man and his functioning brain.
“Fine, I haven’t had lunch.”
He smiles. "Excellent. Please allow me a moment to prepare your lunch. It’s my treat.”
“You gonna go bankrupt if you keep giving me free stuff.” You scowled.
Jade laugh. “Trust me, my love. I have more than enough money to feed you and our family for the rest of our life.” He said nonchalantly as he went to the kitchen.
You froze.
OUR family?
Did he just say OUR family? *
OUR, WHO.
You held your scream as much as you can. Lord knows how much you restrained yourself to not banging your head on the wall and kick your feet in the air and rolling and giggling on the ground.
All of a sudden, you heard a loud bang from the kitchen, effectively pulling you back to reality. The noise sounds like something falling to the ground.
“Jade, are you alright?” You tried to ask.
“Y-yes. I am alright.” He sounded nervous and it does not convinced you a bit.
You strolled to the kitchen before stopping in front of the door.
“Jade, I am coming, okay?” No answer.
“Jade, please answer.” Still none.
You brace yourself for whatever happens inside and open the door. The sight that welcomes you was never in your wildest imagination as a writer could ever dream of. Jade, or rather, something resembling Jade, except his entire body was green, is looking at you. Spikes protruded from his ears, and his appendages, resembling hands, desperately tried to hold his body in place. Where legs should have been, a shiny, elongated tail (?) was visible.
It took a moment for you to register the sight, but it seems like your silence make Jade grew more anxious. Panic and surprise visible on his face. His breath grew faster.
You did something that comes to your mind first. You move to shut the door, close all the curtains and windows that can be seen from outside and crouched down to his level.
“It’s okay. Don’t worry, no one’s around. What can I do?”
He look at you with surprise. “You’re not scared?”
“Should I be?”
You was more taken aback than scared, your hands trembling out of nervousness.
“There’s a purple potion in my bed drawer. The one on the left. Could you get that for me?”
“Sure.”
You bolt out of room as fast as you can. You ignore the feeling of familiarity you felt briefly when you look at his frame and frantically look for the potion. You opened his drawer and spot a few bottles with different colors. White, green, yellow, purple.. PURPLE!
You went back to the kitchen as fast as your legs can take you.
“It this the right one?” You ask Jade and handed the potion.
“Yes.” He replied weakly.
You observed him drinking the potion, witnessing his body gradually transform into a human. It was only then that you had the opportunity to truly examine his appearance. His tail is so long he’s probably around 3,5 meters combined with his top. He has fins scattered around his body and tail plus some few strips you think is a… gill? Is he a mermaid? A merman?
You don’t have a chance to finish you thoughts before Jade slammed you with a tight hug. You could hear his heartbeat thrumming through his chest. He must be quite shocked himself so you patted his back slowly.
“Thank you.. thank you for not leaving.”
You smile. “How could I do that?”
He decided to close the shop early that day as Jade explain everything to you.
Apparently, he is indeed a merman. A merfolk, is what he calls himself. And he’s not just your ordinary merfolk, he’s a moray.
A FUCKING MORAY.
You needs to stop a squeak threatened to escape your mouth.
No wonder his tail is so long. If a moray can be that long, how about the sea snakes?
“Is grandpa a merfolk as well?”
”Yes, he is. That is the reason why moved back to Welmore, where he originally from, to live near the sea.”
“Holy shit.”
Jade said they regularly drink potions to be humans and that their kind have been around for a very long time and have married humans.
"We merfolk originally didn't have a second biological sex like alpha, beta, omega, but due to our liaison with humans for generations, we've evolved into the same hierarchical system. Although we still have some differences depending on our merfolk types, in general, it's similar to humans.”
Jade told you further about his world and you listened to every single word. He told you about his twins, his house down the sea, his parents and everything seems like a dream for you. You even considered the possibilities of you consuming a hallucinogenic drug.
You couldn't stop thinking about it when you returned home that night. The mere existence of mermaids among us, moving about the land without anyone noticing, was unbelievable. Your thoughts kept circling back to the earlier events—the way his face shifted from shock to panic to sheer horror.
And how he looks so familiar.
BANG!
You slammed the shop’s door open. Startling Jade and all the customers inside.
“Goodness. What’s happen?” Jade ask.
You glare and point a finger at him. “You.” And then points at the customers. “All of you, out! We’re closed!”
“What?” They’re looking at you, confused.
“You can’t just kick us out!”
“Yeah, we’ve been here before you!” They began to protest.
BANG!
You slammed your hand on the counter and everyone jolted. Your glare intensified as you got more irritated by the second. “I said. Out. Now.”
The customers ran away from the shop within seconds. It’s better to lose their leisurely time rather than confronting the notorious You who’s famous for your temper. Leaving Jade and you alone.
“Normally, I would request compensation for any damaged items," Jade said with a slight scowl.
You goes back to pointing at him. “You!” You take a little pause. “You are that boy!”
Jade’s scowl turn into furrowed. “That boy?”
“You are that boy who keeps looking at me from the reef!”
Jade’s eyes widen in shock and then his face turn red.
Yes. You remember everything now.
There was this ‘creature’ who keeps looking at you when you first move to Welmore. You said ‘creature’ because you realized it’s not a human after some time passed.
You didn't have many friends when you moved in. Your classmates and dormmates all had their own circles or knew someone from their previous middle school. It was hard for you to settle in, especially coming from across the country, where everything was so different. Seeking some peace, you often went to the sea.
You would find yourself sitting on the beach, gazing at the vast ocean. And often times you did, you would sense a faint presence, as if something were observing you. Even when nobody’s around, you would feel something watching over you. It wasn’t ominous, but it’s not friendly either. They never caused any trouble for you so you don’t really mind them.
Lies. You did mind them, but you don’t want to recognize them. The horror movie teach you the importance of being ignorant to avoid catastrophe. They usually chase their prey only when they acknowledge their existence.
And it was now that you remembered.
Those black and yellow eyes, and the greens. It’s Jade!
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Jade, still with a little blush on his cheek, answered. “W-well, you were freaked out and ran away when our eyes meet.”
You smacked your own face.
Oh, my foolish young self.
"You never returned to the beach after that day, even though I waited for you every day.” He sounds so defeated.
You grab the counter for support. Your head hung low.
“I am really sorry, I should’ve told you beforehand. I’m just—too scared you will run away again.” He approached you slowly, trying to be as careful as he can. “What should I do to make it right?”
Oh, he thinks you’re mad.
You are far from mad.
You want to scream.
“The reason you come here.. is it really because of the reason you told me?” You ask.
Jade took a moment before answering. “Yes.. for some part. The main reason is because of you.”
You banged your head on the counter.
“Dear!” He shouted. Surprised. But you cannot hear him.
So this man has known and watched you for over 10 years.
In normal circumstances, one would find this situation problematic. Especially if you have a sane mind.
You are not.
And you do not find it problematic.
In fact, you LOVES IT.
(A/N: someone please smack this girl’s head)
You. An author. Who’s writing about love stories and so used to make a perfect man in your book. Dreaming about the day a man who’s obsessed and madly in love with you appear and take you away like a knight in shining armor.
You told yourself you would sell your soul for a man like your fictional boyfriend to show up at your front door. And not only a fictional boyfriend just show up in front of you. This boyfriend comes with being a merman as well.
Don’t you understand the weight on that?
Can you imagine the thrills coming down your body right now?
Do you know how many scenarios and stories popped on your delusional head right at this moment?
You really need to start believing in god for responding to your voicemail that day. Not only did they’re responding, they give you a package deal.
Oh, you are such a monsterfucker.
The day arrived for you to attend Deuce's baby's gender reveal, but this time, you didn't arrive alone; you came with your partner.
This marked your first unofficial announcement of your relationship to the public, although it seemed unnecessary as the entire town was already aware by this point. You are the only one who makes yourself difficult.
The party’s going really well. The baby’s gender is a boy. We would have mini Deuce running around our little town soon. You already know that though, you’re the one who prepared everything.
A smile bloom on your face at your successful work.
You felt a tapped on your shoulder when Jade’s gone to get you more drinks.
“Peek-a-boo.” Someone whispered in your ear.
You stared at the man with a dull expression.
“That does not work one me anymore.”
He laugh. “It was once.”
Ace stood by your side, looking at Deuce and his wife who was still surrounded by so many people.
“I still can’t believe we are all grown up. Deuce even got a kid.” He said.
You smile at his direction. Watching Deuce getting hugged by one of his uncle. “Yeah.. time flies by so fast.”
A comfortable silence fall between you both.
“I will move to another country next season.”
You never turn your head so fast in your life.
“What?” Ace turn his head to you. A calm smile never disappears from his lips. “I’ve been transferred to a warmer climate. A tropical country.”
You felt a pang in your chest at his words.
The next season would be in November when you turn 28.
Wait— You turn your gaze at him so fast once more.
He chuckled. “Finally catching up? Yes, I plan to take you with me.” He pause. “I might not be your greatest alpha but I at least can give you that much comfort if you ever need one, right?”
He diverted his attention to the far mountains in front of them. “But now you don’t need it, don’t you? You found someone.”
Ace shakes his body playfully, pretending as if chills run through his body. “Your alpha has been glaring ever since I entered the room.” His gaze shifted to Jade, who gripped the glass tightly, shooting a fierce glare in the direction of you and himself.
But you don’t look at him. Your attention is focus on Ace. “You really plan to take me with you?”
Ace crossed his arms. “Yeah. To the warmer climate. Even if we don’t mark each other, you won’t suffer that much. And.. if we did mark each other, you don’t have to worry about the possibility of hurting me since we don’t need to deal with the cold.” He smile. “Though I need to ask your willingness first.”
You are lost for words. So it’s not an empty promise? All this time? Ace.. your friend since you are in your mother’s belly. Your very first best friend, who you’ve been consider as your own brother, the man who’s ego skyrocketed through the roof he never talk about his true feelings to other, even to you, just tell you the most unselfish thing for the Ace Trappola to ever said and is willing to give away his own freedom for you.
“You’re lucky we’re in Deuce’s celebration, I cannot cry.”
Ace laughed. “I pick a good spot then. Oh look, another vein just popped out on your man’s hand.”
“Why do you keep teasing him?”
Ace shrugged. “It’s nice to have a show of competition. I like the idea of him getting riled up over the possibility of me snatching you away.”
“Do you have a romantic interest towards me, Ace?”
Ace’s face dropped and he give you a deadpanned look. “Not in the slightest, keep dreaming.”
“Fuck you.”
He patted your head affectionately. “I’m serious. I’m glad you find someone to spend the rest of your life with. Now i can leave in peace.”
“Don’t speak like you’re gonna die!” You smack his hand away.
“Ouch, you’re still so cruel.” He pouted.
“Excuse me.” A voice interrupted your banter.
“Here’s your drink, love.” Jade handed you a glass of champagne. Subtly emphasizes the word ‘love’.
He turn his attention to Ace. Ace straightened his posture, refusing to lose. And you look at both men with deadpan expression.
Unbelievable.
“Jade, I haven’t introduced you properly to Ace. Ace is my close friend.”
“Closest. You missed an emphasis there.” Ace returned his bite.
You give him the ‘are you serious?’ look.
“It's nice to finally meet you, Sir Trappola. I've been hearing about you a lot from the townspeople.” Jade said politely.
Ace just shrugged. “Nice to meet you too, new guy. I haven’t had a chance to visit your cafe because someone keep finding ways to prevent me from going.” Ace looking at you, you quickly diverts your eyes.
Jade look at you with glee. “Is that so?” Ace sneers at you both.
“Yeah. Anyway, I don’t want to see you both start acting lovey dovey in front of me so I’m gonna go. Goodbye to both of you, text me if you ever need something.” He pointed his finger at Jade. “And don’t you dare try something funny. You might be taller than me but i got hands and experiences.”
You step in between them. “Enough, Ace. You’re embarrassing me.” You give apologetic glance to the surrounding people.
“Hmph, fine. Call me if he ever kick you out for your snoring. OUCH!” You kick him in the shins and he ran away.
“I NEVER SNORE!” You shouted.
Jade laughing behind you. And he pull you into his arms.
“Did he tell you anything you don’t like?”
“Let’s talk after the party’s over.” You sighed and leaned on his chest.
“So that’s what make you sad.” You nodded.
They are curled up in Jade’s room after coming home from party. Your mood turn a little sour after talking with Ace. You told him about Ace’s transfer but left out the promise details, you think it’s not the right time to say yet. Maybe one day you will tell him, just not now.
“I never knew Ace would care about me that much, he’s a man with a few words even to me, his friend since baby.”
Jade kiss your forehead and you buried your face on his chest. You tightened your hug on him and let out a deep sigh.
“This place gets colder and colder every day, I really don’t know what to do.”
Silence filled the room. You can hear rustles from the tree outside and the sound of the wind blowing its leaves. You shut your eyes, savoring every peaceful moment as your heart turns blue.
“Share your pain with me.”
Your eyes popped open.
You raised your head to look at the source of such words.
Jade look at you seriously. “I lived in the northern sea, the temperatures are far colder than here. My body can withstand almost any level of cold. Share your pain with me, love.”
Your heart beat up faster.
He took your hand and kissed it. He look you straight in the eyes and gaze with a tenderness you always see every time he looks at you.
“I love you.”
You slammed your lips to his. Kissing him, trying to show him all of your emotions. Caressing his lips softly. He doesn’t know how happy you are upon hearing those words. Butterflies fluttered in your stomach, your heart almost burst out of your chest. You change your position to be on top of him.
You looked him in the eyes. “But you will need to drink that shady potions for the rest of your life.”
Jade laugh at the word ‘shady’. “My dear, I am willing to do anything to stay with you.”
You returned his laugh. “Very well, only I wish you would not call me ‘my dear’.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s what my father always calls my mother when he crossed about something.”
Jade titled his head. “Then what endearment am I allowed?”
“Well, let me think—” You pretend to think. “—‘Love’ for everyday, ‘my pearl’ for sundays and.. ‘goddess divine’. But only on very special occasions.”
He chuckles. “And what shall I call you when I’m crossed..” He gave you a playful look. “Mrs. Leech?”
“Oh no, no, no.” You shake your head. “You may only call me ‘Mrs. Leech’ when you are completely, perfectly and incandescently happy.”
Jade give you the warmest smile he ever showed at you. “Then.. I am willing to do anything to stay with you, Mrs. Leech.”
You continue to kiss his lips, even more passionately than before. You let all of your emotions go in that moment. Letting him have his way with you. When he swapped your position to be on top, when he draw your moans by drinking your love juice. You presented yourself at him. Once again, letting him to have you whole, and he did the same. Completing your bonds.
You never feel happier, and you knew he felt it as well as you transferred your feelings to him. The whole world covered with rose-tinted glass. It’s never look more beautiful. You cannot shut your eyes. Wiping sweats away from his face as he continue to move on top of you. As he lock himself in you, over and over again.
“Please look at me, only at me.”
And he was happy to oblige. He handled you like you was made of glass, changing your position several times. Bossa nova playing from the speaker as you move in union. It was the most soft and romantic day. Taking every inch, try to savor every feeling you offer to each other.
“I love you, too.” You whispers.
Jade strode into the restaurant, his head held high, taking in the familiar surroundings he knew too well. Despite the numerous glances directed his way, he remained unfazed – a scenario he'd grown accustomed to, except when it involved her. Just her, and only her he will ever care.
“Here comes the main character.” Said a man who’s look identical to Jade. Accompanied by a white-haired man who sits next to him, sipping his drink with grace.
Jade take a seat in front of them and chuckles. “Nice to see you too, Floyd.”
"Goodness, you're shining even brighter than when you find rare mushrooms. I can't stand it." Floyd said with a disgusted expression. “That one funny shrimp. She knew you’ve creepin' on her everyday yet she let you did anyway.”
Jade only respond his words with a smile.
"So, may I assume that your plan is complete?" asked the white-haired guy, setting down his glass. "Though I must say, I'm surprised it took you this long.”
Floyd clicked his tongue. “I bet he purposely make it longer so he can spend more time with his beloved little omega. Don’t be fooled, Azul. Double—no, Triple his work.”
“Oh my, I never knew you had such perceptions about me, Floyd.”
Azul doesn’t even fazed by the twins banter, he’s so used to it. “I assume you can continue your work, now? You’ve been absent from your post for too long.”
Jade give him his signature smirk. “Of course.”
He opened the book he'd been carrying, adorned with intricate patterns and a beautiful cover. As he turned to the first page, a laugh escaped his lips upon seeing the letters.
Admittedly, running away from your problems wasn't the most mature way to deal with them. But you were frankly, upset and so, running away wasn't exactly not an option for you.
You decided to leave your phone at home, only planning on staying out for a little bit to clear your head. The cold winter air did wonders in easing your mind. Or perhaps the cold was numbing you. Regardless, that ache in your chest was slowly less burdensome.
You had been here for quite a while, looking over the frozen lake, having long since finished the warm beverage you had bought on the way. The empty paper cup still sat in your gloved grasp.
Your eyes glazed over the field of ice and at the setting sun. It reminded you of your dream. A field snow as long as your eye could manage to see, with the sun hovering near, the source of warmth.
The only thing that was missing was the blurred sound of Khaslana's voice.
You shook that thought off, a melancholic cloud dozing over your head when you thought about him. You truly wished you could spend time with him, you really did. But the idea of being surveilled by nosy fans and an ever-hovering Caenis made your stomach twist into undoable knots.
Thinking about the dream made you feel calm. Even if the mysteries surrounding it were endless. The more you thought about it, the more this scene before you felt like one you'd seen countless times before. Even if the sight of the warm sun had only been a recent development.
You heard faint rustling from behind. You looked over your shoulder, catching the brief sight of a squirrel running past into a tree. You let out a small breath of relief into the silence, glad there was no one here. You wanted this time alone.
Or maybe you wished for someone else to be here, to get your mind off the hurtful things that were currently being hurled at you.
You look back at the frozen lake, noting how the setting sun was casting a glow over the ice, making it shine like a beautiful gold color.
Gold.
Gold—
Your thoughts were interrupted the moment you heard the sound of crunching snow coming from behind. You tensed, looking over your shoulder from behind.
And as if your silent wishes had been fulfilled—
Your eyes widened.
“...Khaslana…?”

The snow around you felt like a warm blanket over your body. Was it really the snow that felt this warm? Or was it the feeling of the sun that hovered above you, so close and radiant? Has the sun always been so close.
The snow hadn't always felt this pleasant, no. Usually, you would feel this sting of the freeze that inevitably came with it. Despite your proficiency in working in the cold, you would still feel the numbness that entwined itself with your figure each time you encountered it.
Then—
“■■■■, you're ■■■■.”
“I ■■■■■■ you.”
“The ■■■■ ■■ ■■ dawn”
Was the sun speaking to you? The voice sounded clearer than before. You could almost recognize it from the few jumbled words that were understandable.
When your hands reached up for it, the shadow that had cast over your face snapped you out of the trance that the snow had enveloped you in. The shadow seemed to wake you from your slumber, and when you blinked, you were reaching up for your ceiling in the bedroom.
You sat up, thinking for a moment before burying your face in your hands and slumping back against the bed.
“Why is the dream changing?” You whispered to yourself.
(...)
After warming up, you were ready to get back on the ice. It was Friday, so you were expecting the ice rink to gradually fill up later in the day. So you went early today. Mostly in hopes of clearing your mind.
Yesterday, you had been joking about going for that man, who you found out was named Khaslana, but unfortunately, your brain had decided to be a little bitch and bother you with your weird dreams.
The ice rink was barren, and it made you happy to have the whole place to yourself, it was morning.
…Doing laps wasn’t clearing your mind, admittedly. But what could you do? Perhaps you should’ve asked Cipher or Hysilens to join you here. However, neither were available for the day. Neither was Hyacine, unfortunately stuck at home with a nasty cold.
You were distracted with just doing idle skating, that your thoughts suddenly broke off at the sound of the gate to the rink opening. You swiftly spun around automatically to track the source of the sound.
And sure enough—
There he was.
Tall, blond and gorgeous indeed. Dressed plainly in a warm fleece and pants matching, he stepped on to the ice with grace. Khaslana. The figure skater you had met during your last visit and the one you had seen several edits of on your phone just a while ago.
His sharp golden gaze met yours and he seemed to have frozen up the moment he realized you were staring at him. There was a moment of awkward tension before you moved forward and greeted him.
Your distracted mind seemed to have temporarily been put on hold the moment you saw him.
“Hi, again.” You said and for a moment, something flickered in his gaze.
“Hey.” He said, voice even. The sound was very attractive, and nice on your ears. “It's in the middle of the day, not a lot of people come here.”
“I noticed.” You replied. “Yet you're here.”
“I suppose so.”
Silence…
“I didn't get to ask—”
“You never told me—”
You began speaking at the same time as him. A second of awkward silence before he gestured politely for you to speak before him.
“I didn't get to ask you last time we met, but your name?” You said, carefully. You knew his name already, and for some reason you felt a little bad for asking him either way. But it is hell of a lot better than outright calling him by his name and calling out his fame.
Mostly because you refuse to admit to yourself how many edits you saw of him.
“Oh, right, I was going to ask the same.” He said, skating a bit to the side. You followed, the pace slow. “My name is Khaslana. What's yours?”
“Khaslana…” You spoke it and he nodded. The name was certainly unique. And it definitely sounded attractive when he pronounced it. “My name is [Name].”
“[Name].” He repeated your name as well, looking forward, matching the skating pace as you increased it ever so slightly. “That's a pretty name, I really like it.”
Oh he was blunt.
You didn't know how to respond. It was common for people to compliment you, yes, you were skilled, good at what you do and that came with endless scrolls of flattery during interviews and competitions, not to mention social media. But getting complimented like this felt different, somehow.
You couldn't explain why.
“Thank you.” Your smile brightened and he mirrored it with a subtle smile of his own when he looked over at you briefly. “I like your name as well, it sounds very nice.”
“Really?” Khaslana spoke, voice a bit quieter. His hands found their way behind his back, eyes forward as you two skated in circles around the large rink. “If you say so.”
“I do say so.”
“Then I don't want to argue, especially with someone as talented as you, [Name].”
Help what the fuck.
You were almost panicking from the sheer bluntness of his flattering words alone. He seemed to have a knack for complimenting, something you were weak against.
But a small part of you felt a twinge of familiarity in the gentleness of his voice.
You couldn't quite place it. Not yet.
“You do this as a hobby or a job?” He then asked, as if he hadn't just killed you on the spot. “Competing or just a hobbyist?”
“I do this professionally, actually.” You replied and he looked at you. Khaslana seemed more curious now.
“I should've guessed.”
“What about you?”
“Me? I suppose I do this professionally, but I haven't really been into it lately.” He replied, turning to skate backwards to talk to you face-to-face easier. You slowed your pace to make the conversation easier to hold, even though you doubt it would affect either of you.
“Really, why not?” You asked, blinking. It was surprising to say the least, given the sheer volume of edits there are of this man. You assumed he was active on the scene.
Khaslana seemed contemplative for just a few seconds, a look of tiredness in his eyes, from what you could tell.
“Guess I'm just a little bit burnt out. You know?”
You knew that well. That was one of the reasons you weren't competing this January like every other year.
“I know that feeling.” You said, your tone solemn and he nodded. He put some distance, shoving his gloveless hands inside his pockets.
“Yeah, I just wanted a break.”
“I see.” You said, and he sighed. He schooled his expression back to neutrality. Then you spoke again: “I guess that's why I'm also here.”
Khaslana perked up at that.
“Im usually away for all sorts of reasons related to my work this time a year, but I suppose this year I wanted to spend it at home.” You explained.
“That explains why I have never seen you here before.” He replied, a bit thoughtful. You were slightly taken aback by that comment. As if reading your brief expression of surprise, he continued— “I come here all the time. And never do I see any figure skaters.”
You slowly nodded. You clearly remember that these ice rinks here are used mostly by hockey players and for schools nearby to visit during winter sports days. At least that was how it had been when you were younger after the club holding classes was shut down because your coach mysteriously only wanted to train a few.
“Well, guess we are the only ones.” You spoke, your tone lighthearted. A brief laugh escaped his lips. “A bit of a shame.”
“Is it though?” He asked, half-jokingly. He did a turn to skate by your side again, and you decided to skate faster. “There are more days where the rink is empty if there are less people who are interested.”
“...That's one way of putting it.”
(...)
It was late by the time you were done. You had been distracted with speaking to Khaslana about, well, everything.
He was a little bit closed off, but that shell slowly peeled off as you began talking about your experiences as a figure skater. He added on his own as well. Then you moved on to speaking about personal lives, just discussing it lightly.
Honestly, you hadn't expected to click with him so well, so much so to grab something to eat afterwards.
You didn't feel like eating out, so you just bought something to take back home. He did the same and you parted ways.
After waving goodbye under the snowfall, you came to two realizations;
You knew why that gentle tone of voice was familiar. The same voice that you had heard more clearly in your dream vaguely resembled his. Perhaps it was a coincidence, your mind molding his voice into your dream randomly because he had been on your mind since the day you first met him?
The second realization was—
“Fuck I forgot to ask him for his number!”

in which he rescues you from your very short-lived wedding.
SUMMARY: due to a massive misunderstanding, a prince from royal sword academy is set to wed you at sunset. thankfully, your un-princely crush is here to save the day and crash this lovely wedding.
PAIRINGS: everyone x fem reader (separately)
WARNINGS: they're being a bit dramatic, characters are 18+, makeout (cater)
NOTES: this is echoes the ghost bride event, but listening to this prompted me to write out this scenario instead. i made this for shits and giggles, so have fun with this!
There was no way you would be able to say 'no' now, not when there were hundreds of Royal Sword Academy students and even more members of a random royal family whose last names you cannot recall waiting outside that door. Aside from a completely oblivious Neige and Che'nya who was nowhere to be found, there was no one you could really ask for help to get you out of this mess.
You turn to your supposed betrothed with frantic eyes, shaking your head wildly. "I already told you, I'm not the one you danced with at the ball!" Your hisses fell on deaf ears. That damned prince from Royal Sword Academy was too busy making the 'goo-goo' eyes at you to even register what you were saying.
"I just happened to have the same shoe-size!"
Damn it, why did you have to agree to fitting some missing girl's shoe?!
Pierce Charmant, possibly the most delusional guy you have ever met in Twisted Wonderland, clung onto your calf with a stubborn expression. He had no intentions of letting you go, and neither did his five other guards that had blocked your way.
"You have to be her!"
"You don't even know my name!"
You were really counting on Grim to get someone, anyone, to stop this wedding. Yet, as you are walked down the aisle by the fair Neige, you are already planning out a divorce settlement plan. Based on the number of guests here, who had filled this entire venue from top to bottom, you would have guessed that this prince was rather rich. If it was to be an unhappy marriage, at least your wallet would be more than compensated.
You managed to convince this prince to send invitations to Night Raven College, but that didn't matter. He was so excited and in a hurry to marry, that your friends barely had any time to rescue you! There must have been so much traffic with the mirrors that they couldn't even use them! There was just no way that they'd make it in time now.
And so you consign yourself to readying some divorce papers within the next few weeks, and planning out how to avoid any more interactions with this guy while you were married.
You stood at the chapel's base, your expression exasperated than ever as you kept darting your gaze to the door. You've already tripped over the aisle a few times, fumbled the scripted vows, and even called for a bathroom break or two to stall.
And now comes the big moment that you were so desperately trying to avoid.
"Would you, Pierce Charmant, take the Ramshackle Dorm Prefect, as your lawfully wedded wife?"
The prince smiles so sickly sweet, and its the look of a man who won't change his mind.
"I do."
You grimace as the officiant faces you, just as blind to your annoyed expression.
"Would you, the Ramshackle Dorm Prefect, take Pierce Charmant as you lawfully wedded husband?" They didn't even use your name!
You pause, the image of your crush flashing before your eyes.
You would never see him again if you let yourself get married. Defiance returns to your face as you suck in a deep breath, ready to deal with the consequences of rejecting this delusional prince in front of hundreds of people.
"I—"
"I object!"
RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS
"Grim, please explain to me why I received an invitation to the Prefect's wedding... I am calm, Trey. I would just prefer to know the details before I go and fetch her myself... and may I ask one more thing? Yes, hoW IN THE WORLD DID THE PREFECT GET KIDNAPPED LIKE THIS?! DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO CALM ME DOWN, CATER. I AM PERFECTLY CALM."
Riddle calmly asked about your whereabouts, and it does not take him long to immediately get to work. As one of the better respected housewardens among the roster, it was easier to ask for a few favors that could get him to that damned cathedral fast. However, as the traffic did pile up to get to this accursed wedding, Riddle finds himself on horseback.
He does have this awful crush on you, but it never really crosses his mind. Even as he holds certain feelings for you, it's at the back of his mind. Riddle values your autonomy, and this marriage was a massive red flag. Surely, you cannot have possibly agreed to such a thing. It was just not in your nature. You would have protested, and the fact that you are not back in campus means that something is preventing you from speaking your mind. Riddle really respects you in this aspect!
Still, the idea of you marrying some prince who barely knew it was absolutely absurd. Riddle won't allow it, he absolutely won't!
The doors were flung open with a loud thud, revealing a red-head in a suit. Much to your surprise, Riddle isn't burning red with a fiery rage and threatening to have everyone's head off. He's stomping towards you and your supposed groom, fist clenched as he throws out an arm out of anger. He doesn't seem too angry, but determined.
"ENOUGH! SHE WILL BE COMING BACK TO NIGHT RAVEN COLLEGE WITH ME NOW."
Okay, maybe you were wrong about him not being angry.
His voice echoes throughout the entire cathedral, followed by several flinches at his sheer volume. Immediately, the crowd by the rows inch back a bit further as he continues to march forward, ignoring the guards that seemed to hesitate to approach him. Pierce raises a brow, almost annoyed rather than fearful of this disturbance.
"There seems to be a misunderstanding. You see, the Prefect is going to be married to me. You can sort out your affairs after the ceremony is over." Well, that didn't seem to help one bit, judging by how Riddle seemed to fume even further at this statement.
The housewarden comes to a halt, sucking in a sharp breath to calm his temper. The last thing he wanted to do right now was to frighten you.
He breathes out your name, sending a stutter through your heart.
"Do you truly want to marry this man?"
It almost makes you swoon, the way Riddle looks at you so earnestly as he asks for some affirmation. Had it been any other scenario, you would've taken your time to bore your eyes into his and study his expression. Instead, you shake your head wildly, racing down the aisle until you have hidden yourself behind him.
Riddle has the nerve to smirk at the shocked Prince. "And here, I thought princes had a code of conduct when it came to their ladies." He turned back to you with an assuring look. "I'll take you home, Prefect."
Truly, Riddle had no intentions of playing around. He had only one objective, to get you out of here. Just as he turns around to escort you out of the cathedral, a pair of guards had blocked the exit.
"No, I cannot let you leave!" Pierce cried out, ready to give chase. "Prefect, please! Give me a chance. You cannot possibly be ready to leave me for... this guy!"
Riddle's eye twitches as he cranes himself to look at the prince. "You have some nerve!" He clicks out, clenching his fists once more. Everyone feels the cathedral heat up, those closer to the aisles feeling beads of sweat form upon their temples. Even as you looked at Riddle so gently, a part of you was somewhat grateful that he was sticking up for you.
Just as his top was about to blow, you muster the will to tug on Riddle's sleeve. As quickly as his reddened face came, it disappears when he glances back at your soft expression. Huffing out a heavy sigh, Riddle clicks his tongue and marches towards the exit.
"Let's be on our way, Prefect. We shouldn't waste our precious time on these trifles."
Needless to say, no one really wanted to test the housewarden's patience as he escorted you out of that Cathedral. Riddle certainly doesn't waste time hoisting you onto his horse and galloping away, not giving the prince a second to try and retrieve you.
He grumbles about the entire ordeal, mostly questioning the absolute ridicule of the marriage. What kind of prince thinks he can get away with it? Riddle is certain to send a complain to Royal Sword Academy regarding their lessons on conduct if no one tries to stop him.
You could easily see Night Raven College from afar as you peeked from behind his tuft of red hair. Riddle is still rambling, a preferable alternative to losing his temper entirely. "That ruffian dares to marry you and has yet to learn your name! How uncouth!" He spat in absolute distaste, and he finds comfort in the way you giggle in agreement.
Riddle doesn't seem to take note of the way your arms are crossed around his middle, or maybe he does, and just chooses not to let his blush show. He cleared his throat, gripping the reigns a bit tighter. "You will find better suitors, Prefect. Just promise me that he wouldn't be so impulsive as that Prince."
TREY CLOVER
"Can you drive any faster, Deuce? No, I don't think we're late. Better safe than sorry! ... Suit, check. Speech, check. Myself, check. I've got everything in order, but... hah, I'd expect to do this type of thing a few years down the line, let alone object at a wedding at all. At least, it's the Prefect's wedding... That's such a weird thing to conceptualize at this point in time."
He really didn't have to be so dramatic about the entire thing, but Trey is really going all-out for this objection. Really, all he's done is seen movies where someone objects at a wedding and while he knows its entirely fictional, our boy here has to drive the point home; no one is marrying the Prefect today.
So that explains why he even bothered to dress up and rehearse a speech throughout the entire ride to the cathedral. He has Heartslabyul helping him out to secure an escape for you in case things went awry. Sure, Trey's Unique Magic won't come in handy but he's good with his words, and is relatively charismatic. He's earned that title of Vice Housewarden, after all.
All that preparation flies out the window when he sees you down the aisle, however.
"Trey?"
He's blinking profusely, almost flustered himself by how radiant you looked in that wedding dress. For a moment, Trey swears that he's had some sort of tunnel vision when all he seems to see is you. It strikes some envy in him when he reminds himself that this wasn't his wedding, and this wouldn't be yours either.
"Prefect..." Trey breathed out, struggling to recall the damn script he was supposed to follow. They are lost, just as he found himself lost in your sparkling gaze.
Screw the script, he was just going to have to wing this one.
He narrows his eyes onto the shocked prince, taking steps down that long carpet. "I've come to bring you back to Night Raven College."
Pierce raises a brow, glancing back at you and the intruder with suspicion. "On what grounds?" He questions snidely, uncertain of what to make of this new character. "If it is for anything trivial, then you may bother the Prefect later. You are obstructing a ceremony here, sir."
You recognize that dangerous glint behind Trey's eyes, and it only serves to make your heart race. Trey simply smirks, hiding away his hesitant exterior with a haughty farce. "I am afraid it cannot wait. I cannot allow the Prefect to be married without saying my piece."
He doesn't exactly know where all his bravado was coming from, but if he had to confess his feelings to you now, then so be it.
Trey looks at you, flashing a gentle yet sheepish smile. "Prefect, I fell for you. Hook, line, and sinker." You let out a dramatic gasp along with the onlookers, allowing a hand to fly to your parted lips. "I have harbored those feelings for a long time now, and I cannot bring myself to see you married without letting my heart be known."
Swallowing to himself, Trey's expression falters slightly, falling into one of softness. "Prefect, it is your happiness that I desire. No matter what happens, I will support your choice."
He didn't exactly have to tell you twice, not when you hurry yourself over to his side and latch onto his arm. You didn't have to feed his ego like that, but it isn't as if Trey had any room to complain.
Pierce is angered by the sight, glaring daggers at Trey with such envy and animosity. "Prefect, are you really leaving me on the altar?" As if to subtly annoy the prince even further, Trey hooks an arm around your waist and pivots you to turn. "It seems to be so, Prince Pierce. I fear that your beautiful bride will be stolen on this lovely afternoon."
You do not miss the way Trey smirks at your flustered expression. Just as he continues to walk you to the exit, you gritted your teeth at him. "Don't say such things!" You tell him as the heat rises to your cheeks. You hear him hum at your ear, followed by the slight press of his fingers on your hip.
"Why shouldn't I? You look beautiful in this dress," Trey murmurs in your ear, pushing the cathedral door open with his hand. "And I suppose that the prince hasn't coaxed this expression out of you. I almost feel sorry for him, that he never got the chance to see how lovely you are when you are putty in my hands."
Trey doesn't stop teasing you, even once you are back in Night Raven College. He wouldn't stop complimenting you either, aiming to have you as red as possible. He just can't help it. It's probably the high he got from confessing his feelings to you, or maybe it's the part where you're unsure if he was being sincere or not. Regardless, it was fun seeing you get all flustered because of him.
You are seated by the Heartslabyul's kitchen counter, snacking on some quick treats that Trey had prepared for you. He claims that it was a consolation for the fact you never got to taste your own wedding cake. Still clad in your grand wedding dress, you couldn't exactly care any less about the crumbs soiling the skirts. "You're no prince charming, Trey." You mentioned mid-bite, eyes glancing at the vice-housewarden who was seated across from you.
"What makes you say that?" He asks you with a slight smile, resting his chin on his palm as he shamelessly bored his gaze into yours.
You snort, rolling your eyes at his seemingly sweet disposition. "Prince Charmings don't tease the girls that they like until they're as red as Riddle." You huffed, digging your fork into the pastry. "You cruel man! You haven't stopped ever since you stole me from the prince!"
Trey chuckles, and you cannot keep yourself from gulping as he leaves his seat, sauntering towards you like a lion would his prey. "Oh? I suppose that I am no Prince Charming. I'm not a pure white knight either. If you think I am being cruel, I won't stop you, sweetheart."
Your heart stutters as he slides a finger underneath your chin, tilting your head so that your forced to look his way. Trey smiles at you, eyes twinkling with absolute mischief. "I highly doubt Prince Charmings steal kisses from their crushes either. For you, I will be kind. May I, sweetheart? I do not need your shoe size to know my feelings for you, at least."
CATER DIAMOND
"Gah, it just refreshed! They've just gotten past the walking part! Deuce, shortcut on your left! Sorry, I'm switching tabs between maps and the livestream! Prefect looks is such a cutie in that dress, it makes me so envious of the prince! Oh well, she really looks like she doesn't wanna be there anyways. I'm coming Prefect! I'll save you!"
There's just this image of Cater clinging onto Deuce on a blastcycle, raising his phone up for a signal as they attempt to maneuver their way through the streets. Everything just happened in such a rush, and Cater's scrambling to get to you. He isn't like Trey who bothers to prepare, but if anything, Cater will ramp up the dramatics to the maximum.
His real goal is just to get you out by any means necessary, and more preferably, without violence. So Cater will do what he does best; make a grand spectacle of the entire thing until the prince is forced to abdicate. Worst case scenario, he's going to drag you out the door and shove you onto the damn blastcycle.
If he has to play the part of your real paramour, then he hopes you'll forgive him. He's got the suit and the desperate look on his face ready to go!
Your jaw goes slack at the way Cater makes a dramatic run for the aisle, somewhat unused to that stricken expression on his face. You're almost concerned for him with the way he grips his knees, attempting to keep his balance as his eyes zone in onto yours.
"Prefect, you can't marry him!" It's too out of character of Cater, and you know better than to think he'd ever be this undone in public. "Is this what you really want?!" Before you could even reply, Pierce cuts in with a slight glare.
"And who are you to talk to my bride like that?" It is then when you catch wind of that mischievous glint in Cater's eye as he throws out his arm dramatically.
"I am the Prefect's sweetheart! Who are you to take my girlfriend like that?"
You have never heard the cathedral go so silent. You are utterly speechless, lips parted with absolute surprise. Clearly, judging by the way sweat had begun to form on the side of Cater's temple, you cannot help but think that this was all improv on his half.
Pierce turns to look at you, almost stricken by the ginger's declaration. "Prefect, is that true?" His voice trembles with fear. "Is that truly your... sweetheart?"
A part of you feels a bit sorry for what you were about to do, but you had to remind yourself that you had been dragged into a wedding on the same day you met this prince.
You are running now, sprinting to Cater's side as you clutch his hand in your own. Turning back to the scandalized prince, you nod firmly, playing along with the farce. "We've been dating for a long time now! And I'm in love with him!" You declare, sending gasps throughout the entire cathedral.
You glance up at Cater, mustering a smile across your features. "You came to save me!" He's almost surprised by the way you cling onto him even harder, but it only serves to sell the act even further. Cater smiles in return, holding you closely. "I'd never let you go, cutie. I love you too much to let you leap into the arms of another man."
Maybe the act is too good, too calculated. That is exactly what goes through your head as Pierce raises a brow in suspicion, narrowing his eyes onto the pair as if attempting to spot a mistake. "Is that so?" He murmurs until he crosses his arms, disbelief on his skeptical expression.
"Prove it."
Cater and you freeze up simultaneously, heads turning to glance at one another. He looked so caught off guard by Pierce's demand, and there's so many eyes on you both.
"You're both longtime sweethearts, right? I wouldn't want to split apart such a happy couple..."
Cater is staring at you, attempting to read your expression. It's difficult, especially when you look at him as your gaze gets even more glossy. He wouldn't want to do anything you didn't want to, and he's already readying himself to sprint out the door with you in tow.
"Prefect, you don't have to—mmph!"
You wasted no time in snaking your arms around his neck, pressing your lips against him with such boldness. He could feel you pour all your wants and longings into the kiss, the plush of your soft lips melding into his own. How could he not deny you his own affections, not as he cups your cheeks with his slender fingers and presses back against you.
He dares to go even further, pulling back for a slight gasp of air before diving back into you. Much to his delight, you aren't pulling away either, choosing to even entangle your fingers into his hair for leverage.
Then you hear a groan from the prince, followed by his pleas for you two to stop this display. It seems that he got the point now, at least.
Even as both of you exit the cathedral, Cater still maintains the image that he was your boyfriend. You don't exactly protest, and even then, it didn't seem to different to the way Cater had been treating you as a friend. He is still as clingy as ever, closing the physical proximities by having you hang onto his arm.
And you best believe he's snapping as much photos of you to commemorate the event. He's already updating his MagiCam account on his success, not to mention the pretty girl on his arm.
"Cater, what are you doing?" You asked, unable to hide the grin on your face as Cater sets up his camera against the tire of the blastcycle. You could see yourselves on the reflection of the device, followed by the grand beauty of the cathedral behind you both. He grins at you as he shifts at your side.
"What? It isn't everyday a cutie like you gets to look like a bride. We got the perfect backdrop!" He sings, sliding an arm around your waist as he strikes for a pose. You follow his lead, matching his energy with each shot.
"Careful! People are going to think we're dating for real!"
Cater smirks at you, leaning in closely to your ear with a sickeningly sweet tease. "Wanna make it official then, cutie? Can't have any random princes asking for your hand, not when you're dating me." He is not stranger to the way you blush, letting out a chuckle at the sight.
"Aw, cutie! Are you still thinking about the kiss? I didn't think you would be so bold about it." Pressing a quick peck on the cheek, he rests his chin on your head as he prepares for another pose. "Don't worry. CayCay's gonna initiate it next time!"
DEUCE SPADE
"Grim, which way?! I can't see the GPS! ... Don't I just have to go in there and yell 'I object'? It looks easy! I'll say it then drag Prefect out of there... Ha?! I need to prove that I have a good reason to get her out? Fine! I don't care, the Prefect needs me!"
Possibly the closest we will get to a legit Prince Charming. Perhaps Deuce is a bit on the rugged side, but he's possibly one of the most earnest and noble students from Night Raven College. He cares about you more than he cares about getting his feelings across, but that is not to say he won't be honest about it either in this confrontation.
He's not exactly sure on how to break up the ceremony. Grim and Ace are coaching him through what to say, and admittedly, the process seems too complicated. All he knows is that he has to run through those doors and convince the prince to not marry the Prefect by any means necessary.
"Deuce!"
He is the one to always come running at the sound of your name. Deuce had been someone you trusted during your stay here in Twisted Wonderland, and you never seemed to stop and think about just how attached that boy was to you. Sure, you held him closely as a friend and held affections for him, but the way he sprinted towards you was a testament to how much he cared.
"Prefect!" You are racing to meet him halfway, launching yourself into his chest. He catches you barreling into his suit, immediately wrapping his arms around you in a protective manner. Then he takes you by the soldiers, looking down at you with such concern and worry. "Are you hurt? Are you okay?" He fusses, earning a shy smile from you.
"I'm okay, Deuce. I'm okay."
"And what is the meaning of this?"
Catching sight of the infuriated prince, Deuce beckons you to stand behind him. Cerulean eyes narrow onto the groom with animosity, accompanied by the way his hands are itching towards his wand. "I can't let you marry her. The Prefect will be returning to Night Raven College with me." You can sense the nervousness in his tone, but Deuce remains firm in his words.
Pierce's eye twitches, and he scoffed in disbelief at Deuce's protective display. "I am afraid that cannot be possible. I am marrying the Prefect, and that is final." Clicking his tongue, Pierce rolls his eyes and holds out his hand for you to take. "Come, darling. I am not surprised that you have garnered the affections of an admirer, but I fancy you more than this one ever could."
Something in Deuce snaps as he lets out a cry.
"But I love her!"
You stiffen against his back, taken by surprise by Deuce's sudden confession. And the boy glares, and it almost so painful for Pierce to keep his stare, not when there was so much conviction and certainty behind Deuce's voice.
"I've loved her longer than you have, and known her much longer than that!" His voice cracks underneath the emotional turmoil bubbling within him. "Did you even stop to consider what she wants? Did you wonder if this wedding would make her happy in the first place?!"
You take note of how Deuce's fists are clenched pale, how his breaths had suddenly grown haggard. With a soft expression, you curl yourself onto his back, arms hugging him from behind in an attempt to placate him. His body stiffens against your hold, but he reaches to clasp your hands onto his own.
He is just thankful that you aren't seeing the way his eyes had begun to water at the thought of losing you entirely. "So please," He chokes out, expression twisted with a sort of agony.
"Please don't force her to marry you. She deserves so much more than that."
Thanks to the waterworks that Deuce had caused, the wedding was called off. There was just no way that the prince could marry you after Deuce poured his heart out to deter him from wedding you.
It's almost sweet, the way that Deuce lifts you onto the blastcycle and fixes the helmet onto your head. He encourages you to hold onto him tightly as he speeds away from the cathedral, all the more determined to settle you back into NRC.
By the time he's dropped you off at the Ramshackle Dorm, only then does he take the time to bask in how radiant you appeared in a wedding dress. Thinking about his crush in a wedding dress had never crossed Deuce's mind before, but this definitely gave him something to ponder about for the next couple of nights.
You are handing him the helmet, a shy smile surfacing across your features. "Thank you for saving me from that awful wedding." Deuce clears his throat, shifting his gaze as he takes the helmet from your grasp. "I didn't want you to do something you weren't willing to. It just isn't right."
He doesn't realize just how dry his throat as gotten when he cannot bring himself to keep his thoughts to himself. "I love you. I really do, and I wish I said it at a better time." He swallows to himself, letting the embarrassment burn into the back of his head as he recalls his declaration. It was only natural that 'like' would turn into 'love' after being your close confidant for this long, pining quietly during the months spent with you.
You cannot exactly blame him either, not when his feelings were entirely reciprocated. You shift on the balls of your heel, biting onto your lower lip.
And in a swift motion, you lean in to press a chaste kiss against Deuce's warm cheek. You pull away to bask upon the stunned expression on his face, only to give him a shy smile of your own.
"Would you be down to try confessing again tomorrow?"
ACE TRAPPOLA
"BAHAHAHAHA! THERE'S NO WAY THE PREFECT IS GETTING MARRIED. WHO WOULD EVER WANNA MARRY THE PREFECT? PFFFFT, GRIM, YOU'RE SERIOUSLY PULLING MY LEG HERE. YOU EVEN BROUGHT ME A FAKE INVITATION! AIN'T NO WAY THAT SHE— Oh... Wait, really? The wedding is happening right now? ... Oh."
Ace thought you were just messing him again for that one time he said that no one would ever be interested in you. He simply said that to discourage you from trying to pursue a relationship with anyone else, but he didn't mean for you to prove him wrong like that! He never believes Grim until Deuce, Riddle, and the rest of Heartslabyul receive invitations to a wedding that was meant to start in 3 hours.
This is the absolute worst time to be in denial about his feelings. The Prefect wearing a wedding gown is one thing, but another is the fact that the groom is some pompous prince from Royal Sword Academy. Does that guy seriously think he was your type? No way! Ace knows you better than anyone on this campus, so this guy can buzz off!
A part of him did think that you were serious about marrying this stranger. In all fairness, Crowley's allowance pales in comparison to whatever Mr. Money-Bags had over there. He wouldn't blame you if you were marrying the guy for money.
Still, the last thing he wants is for you to be whisked away to who knows where. Ace would never see you again, and as embarrassing as it sounds, he did get very attached to you. Yes, a part of him wants to keep you to himself, but he also values your autonomy here. And if he knew you that well, he knows that you wouldn't want to be married off like this.
"Prefect, I'm here to pick you up."
You are actually surprised by how princely Ace looked in that moment. Dressed in a suit befitting a groom, you could help but feel your breath stolen away once his scarlet eyes were pinned onto yours. You could have been fooled then, and perhaps, Ace did turn into a prince as he marched down the aisle with his arm outstretched for you to take.
Ace never realizes the way a victorious smile creeps onto his face when you break out into a grin, taking the skirt of your dress as you make run for it. The crowd gasps as you crashed into Ace's chest, and he does not hesitate to take a protective stance in front of you. With a haughty laugh, he smirks at the baffled prince. "Who are you?!"
The redhead's arm wraps around your waist, pressing your body closer to his own. "Sorry about that, but I'll be taking your bride indefinitely! Trust me, you'll be severely disappointed after spending one good day with her!" He snickered, much to your horrified expression. You lightly smack at his chest, glaring at him with that pout that he adores so much.
"Hey!" You whine, and Ace simply beams at the prince who hesitantly steps forward. The redhead snorts, rolling his eyes at the crowd that are offended at his immature display. "I'm doing you a great favor here! If you kissed those lips, she'll turn into an ugly green ogre by sunset!"
"HEY!"
Pierce's eyebrows are furrowed as he looks at you, as if pleading for you to return to his arms. "You'd best return her, boy. We can settle this maturely." Ace does not like the way that these bodyguards are eyeing him, shifting closer and closer as he backed you both towards the venue entrance. He never falters, and neither does that shit-eating grin on his face.
"Sorry, buddy. The clock's struck midnight and all your magic tricks are fading!" He barks. Now, he knows that an escape must be made. The last thing he wants is to have another Eliza-episode. He looks down at you with a wide grin, clasping you arm with a firm squeeze.
Ace sneaks into his pocket, still looking at you. "You know something, Charmant? Maybe not all the magic has gone yet." His hand reveals the Ace of Cards, and it is immediately thrown up into the air.
As the card reached its peak in height, a burst of smoke filled the air, obscuring the magician and yourself from view.
You don't exactly need a signal to start running when your feet began moving on their own, dashing towards the door followed by the Ace's laugh and the prince's demand for guards.
Ace has no white horse, but he has Deuce with his blastcycle! Who knows how the three of you managed to fit on that bike, but you made it work! The guards couldn't exactly catch up in their cars, not when Deuce was dodging vehicles left and right to make this escape. Ace did take one final look back, sticking his tongue out at the defeated prince before you all disappeared around the corner.
Ace gives you his shoes, despite how oversized they may be. You complained about those glass shoes on you, and to 'shut you up', he's given you his runners.
When you make it back to Night Raven College and all the adrenaline has died down, Ace stays by your side the entire time when you explain the entire situation to Crewel and Crowley. He acts so nonchalant about things, even as you both walk all over the campus like groom and bride.
It's a rather odd sight; you in your wedding gown, and Ace right next to you as you both sit on the bench by the Great Seven's statues. Students wandering about at night had given both of you puzzled stares, but no one is ever surprised when they realize it's you and Ace, however.
"Wow, Prefect. Not even a thank you?" He glances at your slightly annoyed expression, throwing his hands up defensively in response. "I was kidding about the ogre stuff! Really!"
You could only roll your eyes at his words, huffing as you crossed your arms across your chest. When you refuse to speak, Ace sticks out his lower lip into a pout as he leans his head onto your shoulder. "Come on, don't be like that. Are you actually that upset about it?"
There is no response from you, not even a glance as your nose is turned away from him. Then Ace sighs, practically clambering over your lap just so that you are forced to look at him. "Prefeeeect, I said I was sorry! What? Do I have to kiss you to make me apology authentic?"
Only then do you look back at him with a raised brow, almost expectant. Ace blinks with surprise, a slight blush creeping to his ears. "For real? You're serious?" He exclaimed, much to your agitation. You sigh even louder as you shove him off your lap, hastily getting up to your feet to leave him behind.
"Wait! Prefect, I said wait!" You feel a hand on your wrist, twirling you back to face the redhead. Ace bites onto his lower lip, unable to keep the red from flooding his cheeks. "I really just said all that mean stuff to get the prince off your back, you know? I didn't think you'd take it so seriously."
And when he sees that smirk creeping up onto your features, he groans as he leans in closely into your space.
"Now look at what you've done! You had me all panicked over what?" You feel his breath tickling your lips, followed by the way his hands crawl up your neck to cradle your jaw.
"If you just wanted a kiss, you could've asked..."
There's a ring on Ace's pinky finger that Cater doesn't know how it got there.
There's a ring on Deuce's pinky finger that Trey doesn't remember showing up.
There's a ring on Jack's pinky finger that Ruggie can't steal because he guards it with his life.
There's a ring on Epel's pinky finger that Vil didn't give to him that he wears despite how much he hates jewelry.
There's a ring on Ortho's pinky finger that Idia didn't make and he doesn't know how it's staying on his little brother.
There's a ring on Sebek's pinky finger that Silver knows could be a liability in battle yet he wears it anyway.
There's a ring on Yuu's pinky finger that they mess with when they're anxious that just showed up there one day.
There's a ring on all of the freshmen's pinky fingers and there's a story behind those rings.
There's always been a hidden promise between Ace, Deuce, and Yuu.
No one knows about it except for them, because they don't talk about it. They've never even mentioned it to each other aside from quiet nights in Ramshackle that they'll never talk about again.
It's hard to believe, sometimes, when they wake up from nightmares of red and black and rose bushes and sand, but they remember it, would remember it even if they forgot everything else.
Because the world is harsh and it's dangerous in Night Raven College, so they cling to the promise like it's a life preserver and they're drowning.
Because maybe they are drowning. Drowning in fights and bad grades and the endless dreams of red and black and the water pressing in and they were so close to death in a place where they should have been safe.
So they remember their promise. The promise that they never speak of, the promise that they'll always remember, the promise that's the only thing keeping them afloat.
It started one night, not a quiet one, but rather a loud one. One with a mine and a phantom and a monster that no one will ever know about except for them.
Ever since then, they've been terrified to leave each other's sights, because last time Yuu let Ace out of their sight, it ended with a collar around his neck.
And before that, it ended in a broken chandelier.
So one day, when Yuu's sent out on an errand to the town in the foothills by the Headmage, they bring some of their precious, hard-earned money with them. They buy three rings, three simple, steel rings.
They take them back and give one to Ace, one to Deuce, put one on for themselves, and never take it off again.
Because it's a reminder of their promise, the hidden promise that they'll always be there no matter what happens.
Jack arrives next. He's let in slowly, carefully enfolded into the group so that no part of him, not even his tail, is sticking out. He's let in and he's informed of the promise on one of those quiet nights that they spend staring up at the moon and trying to push away the thoughts of red and black and sand and water.
Yuu slips off to the foothill town with Ace and Deuce in tow and buys another ring.
Jack never takes it off and keeps a careful eye on it to make sure that Ruggie doesn't steal it, because it's worth more than the hyena will ever know.
Epel comes next, a good portion of the way into the school year. They've already set up their dynamic and his arrival throws it all off, but they let him in the door and he settles in with his hands shaking more than he'd ever admit.
The promise would seem cheesy to him at any other time, but right now his eyes are red-rimmed and his veins look darker than before because of the poison still in them and he needs that sense of reassurance.
The ring is offered to him with a smile and no words are exchanged, but they all know what it means. No one else does and no one else ever will, not even Rook, but they know. They know it like they know nothing else.
Ortho. His ring is different, made of magnets so that it'll stay on him, but it looks the exact same. He doesn't wake up from nightmares like the rest of them do, but sometimes, his eyes are like haunted tragedies.
After all.
His very existence is one, isn't it?
Sebek. He comes last and he finishes the puzzle off like they never knew they were missing the last piece. He's hesitant to wear the ring at first but-
But sometimes, he wakes up and he's not sure that he's awake. That Malleus hasn't put him to sleep again. That it's actually finally over.
The ring is never there in his dreams where the thorns take over and the briar roses linger. It's never there because it wasn't there in the past and it's his way of telling that he's awake.
If any of their upperclassmen ask about the ring that they didn't see show up, the ring that just appeared one day and looked like it belonged, they'll just smile.
"What are you talking about? It was always here. You're just seeing things."
After all, their promise is for their ears only and only on those quiet nights full of red and black and rose bushes and sand, of water and snakes and poison and blue fire and thorns and endless dreams.
No one else is to know of their silent promise, the one that says:
"Together, forever, and no death will do us part because we'll all jump into the open maws together should one fall."
Reader gets angry during an argument with Crowley and starts swearing in their native language
People my age swear. People at school swear. People swear. My people swear.
It's been rubbing off on me and for every time I stub my toe on the side of the table and say "fudge! Shoot! Crap! Darn it! " there is a 20% chance I'll instead say **** in my language
but i dont like swearing but also it's... kinda, cool
Also these may be veryyy OOC because it is my first time writing a post with them like this 👉👈
Riddle
Letting your emotions take hold of you can make you act in a way you'll regret later. -Overblot flashbacks-
However. Once he realizes/is informed of what you've been saying, his eyes widen.
Being angry and/or frustrated does not mean you are allowed to use such vulgar language!
says the guy who nearly beheads people
Definitely scolds you for it. But afterwards, he invites you for some tea to try and calm you down.
Trey
Can't tell what words you're saying or language you're speaking, but you certainly look pissed.
As soon as he realizes that the words you're saying aren't just any type of words in your language, but particularly swear words, he waltzes in to try and stop you.
Stands in the middle of you and Crowley (not a good decision) and tries to calm down the Prefect who's throwing more bleeps by the second
Trey tries, tries to bake something with you to take your mind of things. He says he wouldn't mind hearing more of your native language, in a different setting, that is. Don't swear kids
Cater
Starts recording. He hypes you up even if he isn't entirely sure what your words mean.
Adds some heart emojis on the video and like, idk:
" Look at our little prefect go (off)! 😍🔥 #stanTheprefect #cantunderstandawordtheyresaying #stillsupportivetho! 🤪👍 "
" Bestiee, what did you say? Spill the tea, please~ "
" I cussed. "
" O. Well it didn't sound all that aggressive with you saying it. "
Ace
Hell. Yeah.
He may not understand what you're saying. But he can tell you're real angry. And that means shit's 'bout to go down.
He was right.
Kinda laughs, some of your words sound a bit silly, ya know?
He's never heard someone sound so pretty when cussing out their headmaster.
Man has fucking heart eyes 💀 while you continue to spout some very colorful words, he admires you and sighs lovingly
Deuce
Heck. No.
Hey may not understand what you're saying, but by the looks of your furious red face, that'd put Riddle's to shame, he can tell it's no good.
The art of cussing is universal
Will come up to you and try to stop you.
Man is strong, he will hold you back if needed.
Look he's just worried, okay? You can't just- show the middle finger to your headmaster, verbally, thinking no one will notice.
Leona
He lazily opens one eye, thinking whatever type of fiasco could've interrupted his nap.
The Prefect is dropping an f-bomb (in their native language) at the Headmage
Suddenly he's not sleeping.
Man he's gotta see this. This is like a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Doesn't say anything to you but low key grins the next time he sees you. You've just earned yourself some more respect from him.
I mean, what you did sorta counts as standing up for yourself. ..Not in the best way, sure, but still
Ruggie
??? he is confused
Before it all clicks
o h
Fu-hell yeah, bring in the popcorn, this is gonna be fun, shi shi shi ~
Compliments you on your dictionary of words.
Does he know what you were saying? No, but is it important? All he needs to know is that your language has some nice words in it
Jack
No
Why do you all always get yourselves in trouble? This, this is why. If it's not Ace and Deuce or Grim breaking something and just in general being up to no good. Then it's you using profanity in your language.
Just because it's your mother language, which supposedly no one else / most people don't speak, doesn't make it any more okay!
It's still bad.
Tells you to not do it again.
Feel free to say random things in your language to him, just not, that
Azul
Oh, my.
Is shocked.
He didn't expect you of all people to start cussing all of a sudden??
Sure, you may have had your reasons for it, but still????
It's a questionable experience which leaves him sorta avoiding you till the end of the day.
Then he's back again normal tomorrow trying to get you to sign a contract with him, as if nothing happened.
He just won't address your outburst of emotion
Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss
Jade
Well isn't that strange and unusual.
The normally happy-go-lucky Prefect knows some choice words and decided to use them on our dear, poor Headmage.
Fascinating
can the octavinelle trio use this as blackmail? no
will they anyway? yea
Floyd
lol
Laughs
He's just here for the drama
Picks up on one word. One. Singular particular word and will not stop saying it.
Do not tell him what it means, because he will use it even more often.
But doesn't use it on you ofc <3 little shrimpy, after all, is the one who gifted him with this knowledge
He sure is looking forward to more of your outbursts and learning experiences of fucks and shits in different languages
Kalim
. Huh
Can't tell what you're saying, yet, but you sure do look distressed! Before he gets the chance to discover what you're saying, someone else does it before him and covers his ears.
(That someone being Jamil of course
Kalim understands you must've felt really distressed to have used that type of language and so he later invites you to chillax at Scarabia's dorm.
Jamil
sighs deeply
It doesn't take a genius to discover that a furious teenager shouting words in a different language at a person they've been annoyed by, is most likely swearing.
Covers Kalim's ears, as stated previously.
The last thing he'd need is one for those words getting stuck in Kalim's brain and him repeating it over / look at Floyd's case
One time, one day however, he finds himself in a situation where he very accidentally uses one of the words you said. He didn't even think he'd remember it. Then his brain lags
Vil
Oh noo
You are- why. Why would you do that.
Yes, he could tell you were swearing, anyone with a brain could tell that, potato.
And, no, he does not need nor would he want to know what words came out of your mouth.
If you were in his dorm he'd tell you to wash your mouth with soap. But you're not. But he will tell you to wash your mouth.
Honestly, the next time you're feeling so stressed, maybe come to him instead? He has some face masks and other things that would help make you feel better.
Anger harms beauty, or something, this sounds better in my language
Rook
qu'elle
Alternatively~
que diable
Nono he wouldn't say that, non.
And neither should you, chére Prefect!
For such crude words to come out of your mouth, oh it is so cruelle!
Can and will hold you back down to make you stop, while also whispering thingies in French to make you calm.
Epel
Oh. Oh!
Fuck yeah!
He is cheering for you until Vil catches him doing so and glares at Epel.
He is still cheering but in spirit. As if the huge apparent grin on his face wasn't telling enough.
Afterwards, he says you looked cool badass and asks if you can teach him a few of those oh so nice words.
Let's hope Vil doesn't catch you or Epel saying anything of that sort ever, again.
Idia
Well he wasn't there, buuut he may have seen this situation from some camera footage.
Whaat, it was an important moment. Plus, you looked pretty cool in that situation!
Idia pulls up a translator and once he understands what you were saying, he spits out whatever candy he was gobbling down like popcorn.
Almost chokes.
Holy.. Can't believe you had the balls to do that.. That's awesome. Reckless. But awesome...
Ortho
You cover his ears.
Malleus
Ch-child of man?? Calm down??
He doesn't understand what you're saying to a T, but, he is able to comprehend some of what you said.
Isn't sure whether Crowley knows what you're saying, so he takes you and storms away.
Tells you to be careful with throwing around words like that. Also expresses his interest in your mother language.
But now you will have to suffer consequences for your reckless actions, get ready for 2 or more hours of Gargoyle knowledge!
Lilia
Oh? You don't say? Uh-huh... Interesting
What. Did you really think you were the only person on campus who could speak this beautiful language? No.
he fuckj, flipping joins in as if it were a normal conversation.
Crowley leaves at this point, kinda scared to even ask
But Lilia tells you to not be so reckless with your language. Next time, swear under your breath, so that it won't bring anyone's attention and-
Silver
I think he was sleeping
* laugh track *
Or trying to fall asleep. When your choice words had woken him up.
He heard Lilia use that language a couple of times, so he was able to pick up on some of the nicer words you said. None of the blasphemy made its way into his ear.
Although wait, maybe he had heard a few of those word when fa-Lilia was playing some games
Sebek
???
he's not really sure what you're saying, but_
N O T IN THE PRESENCE OF THE GREAT MALLEUS DRACONIA
He's actually more angry than Crowley, holy sh-.
Will not want to hear you ever speak that language again. Thank you.
... Okay that was harsh. Maybe he will like to hear it one day. BUT WITHOUT THE BLASPHEMY, OKAY??
Bonus!
Grim
Ya he's used to that
No, doesn't know what yer sayin', but he has his suspicions
If the boys pay him via Tuna Cans he will translate -to the best of abilities- what you said.
Better pay up! Less you wanna miss out on the hot gossip and drama 'bout our not so innocent Prefect!
Crowley
He doesn't understand what you're saying
? can you not ?
He was kind of in the middle of something, now he's in the middle of your toddler tantrum
He knows
inhale

hi there! platonic aventurine, jing yuan, sunday, blade, welt, dan heng, boothill, argenti and dr ratio with a teen reader who is like fischl?
Hi anon <33 I really wanted to finish this in one part because i loved this req in specific (i love fischl) but idk why I’m lacking sm motivation,,, so I decided to split this into 2 parts (hopefully) i hope you don’t mind,,, thank you so much for requesting <33 if you’re unsatisfied just tell me and i’ll redo it !! <33
notes 𐙚 gender-neutral reader — "you" + "royal" + "they/them" used to refer to user ,, reader is a teenager ,, user is based off of "fischl" from the game genshin impact ,, platonic relationships ,, mention of fu xuan in jing yuan’s part ,, not my best work i’m sorry ,, mention of robin in sunday’s part ,, not proofread ignore typos
⭑ When he first met you, AVENTURINE was a bit taken aback with your speech and eccentric character in general. You claim to be royalty from a far away world, and while Aventurine didn’t quite believe it at first there was a small part of him that was lowkey kind of convinced.
⭑ He was a bit concerned that someone like you was so high ranking in the IPC because he knows the IPC is probably exploiting you especially because you seem to be a bit naive, so he’ll start watching over you.
⭑ He’ll gradually get used to your persona and understand what you say. He might need a second to process if you drop a huge paragraph of dialogue on him, but with every conversation and interaction he gets faster.
⭑ Takes one to know one — AVENTURINE can tell you’re trying to cope with something that’s happened in the past via roleplaying this character you put on, and he won’t be the one to burst your bubble. In fact, he’ll try to protect it for as long as possible.
⭑ Nobody’s going to make fun of you while he’s around. If anyone tries to reality check you, he’ll lowkey gaslight them into thinking that everything you say is real. Yeah, you’re a royal. He’s also actually seen this far away land you speak of, so that person is just being an ignorant hater !!
⭑ If your character is based off of someone from a book like Fischl, AVENTURINE will find that book and read it to better understand your references and persona as a whole. Likes seeing how you get happy when he references something.
⭑ If you ever feel insecure because of your past, AVENTURINE will be there to comfort you. He’s good at picking up signs when it comes to you because he practically had your character memorized. He’ll try to distract you from your past but if you do want to open up and vent he’ll be there to listen.
⭑ Give him a role in your little world and he’ll play it scarily well. Would probably do best as a royal advisor or assistant.
⭑ Buys you literally anything and everything that could fit your aesthetic and world. Fancy gems to add to your riches because every royal needs to have riches!! Buys you clothes too that you think is fit for royalty of your world.
⭑ You practice archery next to him while he practices gun shooting and it’s nice bonding time,,
"I, [Name], [Insert desired title here], descend upon this land by the call of fate an— Oh, you are also a traveler from another world? Very well, I grant you permission to travel with me."
"They’re saying that it’s nice to meet you."
⭑ Was not in any way bothered or confused by your eccentric mannerisms. JING YUAN’s pretty used to the unique speech style due to Fu Xuan, so he understands what you’re saying or at least gets the basic idea.
⭑ Oh? You’re a royal from a far away distant land? Yes yes, how nice. But royals do need to complete their training as well, no? As a cloud knight, he’s impressed with how you easily climbed up those ranks. Praises you whenever you somehow jump up a rank quicker than the last.
⭑ He doesn’t really suspect too much of your personality and that you’re putting up a front until you slip out and go ooc which makes him do a double take mentally. When you get all flustered and a bit distressed, he’ll reassure you by acting like nothing happened.
⭑ It’s then that he really pays attention to the little story you have going on with the world you live in. If he ever forgets something important, he’ll apologize and tell you that he never meant to insult your highness.
⭑ Another one that would protect your little bubble. I don’t think anyone would really want to say something bad about a high ranking cloud knight but even if they wanted to if JING YUAN or Yanqing were to hear they wouldn’t know peace,,
⭑ He can play the role you give him should you give him, especially as a general. You tell him about someone trying to attack your kingdom and he’ll reassure you he’s got this !!
⭑ Keeps a piece of paper in his pocket that has details about your persona if it’s based off of a character from a book. Also probably has a timeline on all your 'historical' events — sometimes he scares you because it feels like he knows more about your world than you do,,
⭑ He finds your keen instincts and intuition a bit intimidating. Have you ever thought of learning a thing or two from Fu Xuan? He always trusts you whenever you feel uncertain about a plan or idea because somehow you’re almost always right in the end.
⭑ Becomes your archery mentor and will watch over you as you train. Your skills are impressive and he finds amusement in the way you pose after a full combo.
⭑ If you feel upset because of your past, JING YUAN will comfort you and tell you that you don’t have to grow up — you’re still young and deserve to enjoy what remains before you become an adult and have to face the world. He’ll always be proud and support you no matter what.
"I hear the voice of fate, speaking my name in humble supplication..."
"Hm? Care to share what fate whispers?"
⭑ The talk of an eccentric worker in the reverie hotel had easily reached SUNDAY’s ears, and wanting to see who this eccentric worker was, he decided to wander around during his free time to catch them in action.
⭑ It wasn’t hard to find you as you were a bit loud. Pushing the cart of luggage while speaking of your magical kingdom to the guests as they nod along, clearly invested and assuming you were a storyteller. Once you had brought the guests’ luggage to their room and left, SUNDAY made his way to you to talk with you in interest. You had quite the imagination and spoke in a very sophisticated manner for your age.
⭑ Wasn’t at all phased by the paragraphs upon paragraphs of dialogue you would drop on him, replying easily and holding the conversation well. He noticed you seemed happier the longer he spoke to you.
⭑ While some guests may be annoyed by your behavior, he’ll remind them — if he’s present — that penacony is the land of festivities and many different people visit. Plus, you’re young and free to be who you want to be. If you’re really get picked on though he’ll deal with them personally.
⭑ SUNDAY is scarily observant so he knows you’re playing a character. He doesn’t really acknowledge it too much or confronts you, though, since everyone in penacony is also technically playing the character they wish they were.
⭑ Because of that, SUNDAY will let you do as you please. He’ll indulge you and will play the role you wish for him to play. He’s good at acting, so he can play whatever you wish. It reminds him of when he’d play pretend when Robin when he was younger.
⭑ Has everything about your character memorized. However he knows what to say and what not to say so he doesn’t fluster you by knowing more than you. Will also cover for you if you accidentally go ooc.
⭑ Your ability to rise up in the ranks so quickly will eventually make you work directly under him at some point and when that happens trust that people will refer to you with a royal title. He may indulge you a bit too much,,,
⭑ When you open to SUNDAY about your past, he kind of just. . . Dodges the subject after that. Doesn’t mention it at all. May act like your father a bit and call you his [insert royal title here] — you never realize it’s him trying to reassure you that you needn’t worry about growing up and being mature because of the role you’ve given him.
⭑ Gets a bit worried for your safety when you practice archery, but he also appreciates the fact you can take care of yourself should you face any dangers (especially in the dreamscape.)
⭑ Takes your advice and warnings a bit seriously because of how good your intuition and keen instincts were. (He didn’t listen ONCE and he paid the price.)
"What does it take to rile a royal? ...If you must know, it is those who cannot recognize my true identity. But it is no great loss, for solitude is the noble's lot, so long as I do not lose the nobility of my soul..."
"How wise you are, your highness."
⭑ He has no idea when it happened, but one day BLADE became your 'knight' and he has yet to comment on it. Not really the best knight as he doesn’t really stay close to you on the daily however also a really good knight as he protects you during missions to the point where you don’t use a single arrow.
⭑ Can understand what you day, does not translate for other people. You’re the yapper and he’s the listener. Doesn’t reply like 95% of the time but when he does it’s really flat and monotone which you don’t mind because he’s the big scary knight !!
⭑ Gets teased by the other stellaron hunters for indulging you, but he doesn’t really care too much. He can’t leave you to die during missions, can he? You’re way too young to hold your own properly so he’s there to make sure the number of stellaron hunters doesn’t decrease (that’s his reasoning don’t ruin it pls.)
⭑ Said this in other posts: not the best at comforting so when you open up, he’s kind of just,,, there. He’s also a bit distant sometimes but after that he’ll try to put an effort into playing his role so you don’t get upset or feel like he’s ignoring you.
⭑ Nobody thinks of making fun of you or your interests because BLADE’s always standing behind you — even if you’re tall for your age it’s still very scary to have him just staring at the person with a dead look.
⭑ Doesn’t research your character like the others — he learns as he goes. He doesn’t even have the chance to mess up because he just doesn’t talk much so he can’t mess up.
⭑ Not much to say for Bladie he just goes with it,,
"Dusk and dawn but fleeting shadows are. Once more, the twists of fate have led you into my everlasting night."
Mysterious girl with beautiful golden eyes and star motifs, and guy who is stoic (but is actually a gentle sweetheart with trauma, and is associated with the military in some way) and has a teal colour palette.
when it comes to anaxa, i actually prefer imagining scenarios where you meet him waaaaaaay before canon time and are established by canon time.
chrysos heirs going to the academy to learn stuff and meeting you, their professor anaxa's wife! you're so kind to them compared to their harsh professor, a constant presence since you always visit anaxa's classrooms or labs or sth. with you, anaxa softens just the slightest bit, seeming less mean overall, but he's still a stick in the mud.
chrysos heirs seeing a new side of their teacher! their teacher actually softening his voice to someone!!! you sometimes bringing him lunchboxes with droma stickers and him accepting with a straight face and giving you a thankyou kiss on your cheek making you giggle!! you and him love each other a lot!
honestly, it's cringe. they feel like throwing up from all the rainbows and dog food they're forced to eat. who knew professor anaxagoras was big on public display of affection? anyways anaxa just treats them as background noise (ergo foolish students that need to focus on their studies instead of his wife) whenever he snuzzles his wife in front of them.
