1. You do realize what a side character is right? Like, Saphron and Ilia are literally not part of the main cast. They are side characters, family or friends or whatever they are, they’re side characters. (And considering how rwby we haven’t even seen some side characters again, i’m expecting they’re gonna get the same treatment.)

Like I do love that Saphron and Terra’s relationship isn’t seen as a weird anomaly, but fr, it took them SIX seasons to show an LGBT couple? Lest we forget the ball were every couple was m/f.

Also I LOVE Ilia. But as said before, she’s not a main character. And her whole introduction was SUPER GROSS. Angry revenge lesbian? Yikes! Yes she got better, but Rooster Teeth could do better also!

2. Not posting on youtube isn’t some pro-LGBT statement. It’s literally so people are more inclined to use the Rooster Teeth site.

3. Bumbleby has been used to queerbait before (THE WHOLE SONG ORDEAL), so until it’s confirmed canon, I’m going to still say its queerbaiting.

ALSO Like, As a nonbinary lesbian, My identity exists outside of being in a relationship. I’m not only gay when I’m dating someone. One of the main girls could literally just make a comment about finding a girl cute or talking about being gay. RT thinks only being in a relationship is how you express your identity. It’s not.

Like, Weiss, Pyrrha, and Blake have all fallen for dudes off the bat. They could make a comment about being gay or liking girls lol.

But It was the comments like “Is blake secretly a man” It’s a gross Transphobic joke. And Jaune being laughed at for being in a dress, though subtle, was one as well.

Though maybe RWBY jokes are harder to identify compared to the other gross homophobic/transphobic joke in Rooster Teeth’s other shows (IE DONUT FROM RVB)

I’d go as far as to say adding one-off extras who appear once maybe twice and disappear(or die) or revealing someone as gay in a side manga is par the course with queerbaiting.
