I actually have a bunch of different versions of this because I was really proud of the original sketch, ahaha. The character is Linda. She's a doctor, wife, mom, and cannibal. She likes long walks on the beach and murder.

This is not writing-related in any capacity. I was experimenting with brushes. :) This is a sky with clouds, sort of? Clouds are actually hard when trying to find the right brushes.
I made this for my mom on Mother's Day. :)
Run.
In kindergarten, Rachel once climbed to the top of a massive playset in a restaurant and grew too afraid of falling. A girl who looked a few years older than her attempted to help; she told Rachel that you should never look down when you’re scared because that’s where the devil is. You should always look up because that’s where Heaven, God, and His angels are. Those words were little consolation, however, and Rachel’s mother had to come get her down.
Runrunrun.
Those words stay with her though, so Rachel cranes her head to look toward the sky. Nestled high in the branches, a barn owl solemnly surveys the land below. The first time she saw one, it reminded Rachel of the stout demon that eats dead people’s hearts in the Egyptian underworld.
Okay, I completely forgot to save the first steps under different file names. Oops! Anyway, this is something I drew over a month ago and just got around to coloring. :) I wanted to sort of experiment with a different brush. I considered adding a flower crown -- but relented. Maybe one day!
Rachel walks past Linda and embraces Marcus, her cheek resting on the flannel of his shirt. She’s taller than Linda, who doesn't even reach five feet. However, Rachel is far shorter than Marcus, who seems like a giant in comparison. He puts one hand on her back. She can lean into their hugs and act -- act and feel like a child again. She can feel like the preschooler who went on an Easter egg hunt with her mama.
This is a picture of Rachel and her birth mother -- who died when Rach was eight years old. :c I really enjoyed using pastel Easter colors, but how do you draw teeth?? Also, Rachel has a black spot in her mouth because she lost one of her front baby teeth.
Anyway, happy Easter! uwu
She finds two dead crows in the late afternoon. The poor birds are almost lost amongst the hefty coat of leaves spread across on the forest floor. Once, Rachel buried a squirrel with its head nearly cut off, its body sprawled out in the spring-green grass. The crows’ bodies look like something trampled them. Next to one of them is a bent black feather. If she were still a little girl, she’d imagine that they these two are Mommy and Daddy Crow and she’d wonder about their babies. She’d imagine a nest at the top of a tall tree with blue eggs. She’d fret.
She doesn’t have a shovel, and she doesn’t want to hear her parents’ questions if she goes to retrieve one from the shed. Linda would have a fit if she knew that Rachel was managing animal corpses. With no gloves on her hands, she digs two shallow graves, even if she’s certain that scavengers will come by and dig out the carrion later.
Also known as "American Horror Story: Hands."
The steps I did to make this piece. :)
What can I say that I haven’t already tried to show? They really do love me. I can’t just betray that.
This is the first time I've drawn all three members of the cannibal family together ... sort of. From left to right: Linda's hand; Rachel; part of Marcus. Also, this is me attempting to do poses besides a side glance of someone's face or them staring forward. I am trying really hard and, unfortunately, hands.
Here's the progression to the final piece! :) One of her eyes was off for a bit, but now it's all good!
Okay, so the one on the left was made sometime last year. I can't remember when; I want to say early to mid 2013. And I just made the one on the right. Click to enlarge. It's interesting, because her expression looks completely different. I decided to change the colors and have her wear a red dress and have the background be a mute blue-green for contrast. Also, the left one was made in GIMP and the right one was made in Sumo Paint.
Anyway, this is Rachel, the protagonist in Rabbit Red and the adopted daughter of two cannibals.
Lan again by Karen Kaye Llamas being brilliant as usual. :))) Not my art!
"Lan" by Karen Kaye Llamas. Not my art! Lan (whose pseudonym comes from "Ulan") is a Filipina character from Nadir. Her real name is Imee Dato. Also, her left arm is robotic. This piece does a great job of capturing the character. :)
"Rani" by Karen Kaye Llamas. Not my art! I really love this amazing character design. :) Rani is a queer desi character from Nadir who plays a major role in the storyline that takes place in Karaar.
A profile of Psyche, the hero of the story and Cupid's wife. The first picture was made last year, but I went back today and added some extra layers. I noticed that I made her paler than I intended and the layering of colors was so uneven (back then I didn't know how to adjust the opacity or use layers), so I decided to rectify those.
Her family leads Caelius, a kingdom where the founders were from north Africa. She is the youngest princess of three sisters and the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. Her beauty causes men to worship her and seek to court her, and that angers Venus.
This piece marks a small triumph for me because, after seven years of using digital art programs, I finally know how to use layers! Before, that stuff baffled me. Witchcraft, I'm telling you. I'm going to redo all of my old pieces and add layers instead of having just one.
I completed the first coloring of this a week ago, but then my drive lost all of its data and that one is lost forever with the seams of time. Instead of crying, I decided to try again and force myself to learn how to actually use layers, and I'm happy with the results. I decided that I liked the painterly effect, even though the coloring of the old one was pretty decent.
Anyway, this is Marcus and Linda Smith. I have trouble drawing male bodies, more than one person, and most postures, so I tried this and I'm happy with it. I really like how Linda's hair looks and the coloring of her blouse.
