i had been considering giving shauna her own blog (as opposed to this sideblog), but i decided to make a yj multi instead and move her there. i'll follow people from there once it's set up.
it has been done! i've followed everyone who was following this blog. feel free to unfollow here.

“Not attending the reunion was the best decision you could have made. I don’t know if Tai told you, but Allie Stevens’ speech was painful—” Nose scrunches as she grimaces, reminiscing the way their former teammate had used their tragedy to draw attention to herself. How long had she been exploiting that for?
She takes a swig from the bottle in her hand before she speaks once more. “Did you ever think we’d all be together like this again?” she asks, a soft smile on her lips, bottle tilted in Van’s direction as she offers to share.
@doomdays for sc.
“I swear, if I read another paper that starts with ‘In this essay, I will…’ or ‘The Oxford English Dictionary defines…’, I will scream.” An exasperated sigh as she emerged from their home office. She had been grading papers for her Intro to Literature course for almost an hour now. A fifteen-minute break was much needed before she could resume sifting through the wreckage this assignment had turned out to be.
“We didn’t drink that Malbec we got for our anniversary last month, did we?” she asked, glancing at her wife. “I can’t do this fully sober.”

“Hey, how do you get an art major off your front porch? What? Pay for the pizza.”

what would you do if i posted a starter call? just specify if you'd like teen or adult and, if you're a multi, which muse you'd like it for. i might reach out if we haven't plotted and i can't think of something... i'm chronically bad with starters.

@rabbitqveen gets a plotted thing.
THE INVITATION TO DINNER HAD SURPRISED HER— it wasn't as if she and Shauna had been all that close outside of the obvious connection they each preferred to ignore. She was pretty sure Shauna looked down on her and in truth, Natalie couldn't blame her. Not entirely, anyway though she did feel as if some credit should have been given considering their history and even with some of the more recent events. Maybe that's what this whole dinner thing was about, Shauna's way of extending an olive branch. She'd take the free meal either way, regardless of the meaning behind it. ❝ Hey. ❞ The greeting was subtle and to the point once the other opened the front door and let her in. For whatever the reason though, the sight of Shauna's daughter did surprise her somewhat, but then no Jeff in sight. ❝ Where's the hubby? ❞ Not that she actually cared either way, hands still properly placed within the confines of her leather jacket's pockets. Chin rising in Callie's direction in silent acknowledgement which was met with nothing more than a feigned smirk before the teen went back to looking at her phone. ❝ K. ❞ Was all Nat said in regards to that, turning her attention towards Shauna again. ❝ So, this'll be fun, huh? ❞
❝ YOU MADE IT, ❞ she greeted, beckoning her to step inside and follow her into the kitchen. ❝ Oh, Jeff’s helping Randy tonight and won’t be home until later, ❞ she explained as she flicked the oven’s switch, allowing her to take a look at the meal that had been baking in there for the past 30 minutes. It was almost done, it seemed. At Nat’s comment about her daughter, she sighed rather loudly, as if releasing some kind of unearthed frustration. ❝ Don’t take it personally, she dislikes everyone equally. Don’t you, Callie? ❞ She wished Callie’s behavior were better, especially whenever they had guests over, but this was who she had chosen to be during her teenage years and there was next to nothing she could do about it, unfortunately.
She figured Nat could use a hearty homemade meal and had gone through a couple of options before landing on one she hoped she'd like. ❝ I tried a new recipe for you: butternut lasagna with mushrooms. If it doesn’t sound appetizing, let me know and we can order a pizza — I promise I won’t be offended,❞ she offered a smile. She grabbed a large wooden bowl full of salad and passed it to her friend. ❝ Do you mind helping me set up the table? ❞
-whispers to a very dead dash- i have tags & i finally got over my insecurities about writing shauna. i still owe one more reply, but i'm so very sleepy. catch me on dscrd if you'd like to plot or just say hi!
PROMPTS FOR SHARING A MEAL TOGETHER.
@rabbitqveen asked: thank you. that means a lot.
With a small easy smile, he looked to her and gave a little nod. "Of course, honey," he breathed, reaching over to pat Shauna's leg before his attention returned to the television. "Well, what time do you think our darling daughter will come home?" Jeff asked after a moment as their show went to commercial break. He wasn't expecting her to come home at all this evening; figured that she would sneak back in sometime in the morning. "Have...have we failed as parents? I mean...we were never this bad with our own right?"
“Honestly? I doubt she’s coming home tonight. We might as well start paying child support to Ilana’s parents,” she joked. Shauna pondered on the next question for a moment as she plopped a popcorn kernel into her mouth. “She’s just going through a phase.” She hoped. All through high school, she had been a model student; straight As, early admission into Brown, a great soccer player. She had never attempted to extort her mother, tried drugs, or gotten heavily intoxicated. Yet, Callie was choosing to rebel by doing all of those and who knew what else. “Well…” Head tilted, pursed lips twitched to the side. “We did drink at parties and… there’s the sex we were having in secret, but I don’t think we ever did any of it to spite our parents.”
❝ hey, uhm... you wanna go maybe get some food? ❞ it was getting late when Desi quietly let herself back into the room she shared with @rabbitqveen. she was supposed to be spending the night with Iris ; but after only a couple of hours, she’d returned without explanation — only the offer of food to her new roommate. ❝ and maybe a milkshake... because i could really kill for a milkshake right now. ❞ Desi added, offering Shauna a barely - there smile.
anxious about the history exam, she had been poring over her notes and textbook for the past two hours. how had she managed to do it before? study, get excellent grades, do well in soccer? the unexpected gap year had crushed everything she had once been and she wasn’t sure how to feel about it. maybe it was an opportunity to reinvent her former self. who could tell really. ❝ food, ❞ she repeated, bringing herself back to the present. she didn’t expect her roommate to be back until much later. she turned to look at desi and noticed the slight change in her usual demeanor. something must have happened. but what? she'd find out soon enough, she imagined. ❝ sure. i could use a distraction and some sugar. —mickey d’s? i can drive us there. ❞
Closed starter for @rabbitqveen.
The world seemed tilted on its axis and following that angle was Callie as she unsteadily found her way to the bathroom and shut the door locking it behind her. Her first real experience at a frat party wasn't what she had expected and all she wanted was her mom.
Hands unsteady as she hunkered down close by the toilet, the sixteen year old pulled her phone out and slowly searched for Shauna's contact information in her phone, but before she could hit send, Callie found herself leaning over the toilet. Never again. She would never do this again.
With a cold, sweaty arm run across her mouth and her breathing faster than normal, she finally managed to call her mom, "Mom...please pick up...please..."
She had been folding laundry when she heard her phone ringing. God… she hoped it wasn’t Misty again. Why couldn’t she take a hint? She had spent more time with her the the other day than she ever wanted to for the rest of her life. She grabbed it up and instantly picked up, realizing it was her daughter.
She sounded terrified. “I thought you were at Ilana’s,” she spoke into the phone. “Where are you?” Her tone was soft, she the teenager didn’t need a diatribe right now. “Are you in danger?”
She couldn’t remember the last time Callie had actually asked for her help. Since she was allowed to walk home from school on her own, she had quickly become so independent. Soon, the little girl who had once needed her food to be cut up into tiny pieces was gone, replaced by a willful teenage girl.
“You will be spending your Friday nights at your dad’s sad little apartment eating cold pizza on the sofa you know your dad cries into.”
