AVENTURINE β HE/HIM β ADULT
Friendly reminder that the most well known professionals in the DID and trauma field are conspiracy theorists. Colin A. Ross has been documented to have been abusing patients and forcing them into "remembering" past trauma concerning SRA. The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation/ISSTD has a slew of controversies regarding their own staff members promoting inaccurate information and conspiracy theorists. There has also been documented abuse by their clinicians. They use trauma survivors as a means to promote their conspiracy theories instead of actually helping them.
This post is not to undermine the good they provided. Kluft and co. helped to provide voices for many. But, they are not your friends. A lot of their well known works are outdated by today's understanding of the medical model of DID. This isn't to say the entire understanding of DID and trauma is inaccurate and shouldn't be trusted, just make sure to be critical of your references.
