Last week I was in Philadelphia, celebrating my brother Chris’s graduation from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. It was great being back in the city! I used to go and visit Chris, and explore the city solo while he was in class. Good times! We all had a great time spending time together as a family, and having a big dinner with his closes pals, with endless amounts of wine at a delicious Mediterranean restaurant called Figs. The food was amazing! We also visited the Reading Terminal Market, where we wolfed down Amish cinnamon rolls, and a mediocre Philly cheesesteak. A redo on that is in store for next time. We walked a lot of the city, and it was neat walking through places that I remembered from my previous explorations. We stayed in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania with the elderly couple (Sara and Bill). It was an Airbnb stay, and they were lovely. I tried scrapple (basically everything but the squeal ground up into a weird colored mush and formed into a brick) for the first time, when Sara made me breakfast one morning. It was a horrific experience, but I’m proud of myself for bucking up. She was great to talk to, and I enjoyed her company and quirkiness. The houses in the neighborhood were Victorian style, which some of them were magnificent! You could take the train right to the city within 15 minutes. It was perfect! It was a great weekend! I plan on returning this summer!
Look! It’s my Lovely London Ladies! (Plus Jer and I!)
Spitalfields Market
Harry Potter Warner Bros: The Making of Harry Potter
Visiting the Warner Brothers Harry Potter studio was EPIC! They had all the costumes, props, creatures, masks, set pieces, and much more. It was truly a magical experience, taking me on a journey to Hogwarts in an exciting and breathtaking way! I would highly recommend visiting this place if you're a Harry Potter fan. Great butter beer too!
More of my time in Oxford. I found a place called "The Rose" where I had afternoon tea. It was all delicious! A selection of tea sandwiches (smoked salmon, cucumber with cream cheese, and egg salad with watercress), delicious lemon cake, and scones with creamiest of butter and fresh strawberry jam. YUM!!!! I also visited the indoor market, where I bought some henna. My hand and arm is now covered with my own designs.
Oxford was breath taking! It was nice to get out of the busy city, into some different air. I felt as if I was walking through a fairytale, as I explored the town and snapped pictures of the amazing ancient architecture. It was a wonderful day!
The good life.
Took myself on a date to Yo Sushi. The concept of grab and eat sushi, as it passes on a conveyor belt, is genius! It was a delicious and fun way to enjoy one of my favorite foods!
I couldn’t ask for better roommates! Our personalities meshed so well together, which when you’re living in jail cell tight quarters, it’s a definite plus. I will for sure be keeping in touch with these ladies! ❤️
I said goodbye to my lovely classmates at dinner last night and this morning, the Generator Hostel (gooood riddance), and to my favorite Italian bar tender, Dario. Now I'm all snuggled up in my hotel room at the London Riverbank Park Plaza, ready to take on this city solo dolo...after a nice nap :)
Well said.
Portobello market was a fun time! Overwhelming amounts of jewelry to pick through, scarfs, unique clothing, hand painted shoes, street eats, and my favorite of the day, live music! The saxophone guy literally was the highlight of my day, playing along with a track bumping today's greatest hits, such as Sia. He was awesome! We had to stop for a dance break!
The style here in London is on point. Here’s a peek at some of my favorite looks thus far. More to come!
You’ll see yours truly dressed in an outfit I put together from Top Shop, Piccadilly Circus. A black onesie, pleather ruffled skirt with an angled zipper, and feather shoulder accent piece. It’s the perfect outfit for a night out at one of London’s posh clubs.
My lovely friend @thehannn is rocking her Euro inspired outfit of track pants paired with a black and white floral tank, and the star of the look, Tommy Hilfiger tennis shoes purchased in London. Get it girl!
Lots of tubing, busing, and walking on this trip. The tube and bus systems are key to getting around the city cheaply. They've been a big part of my adventure here. Did I mention that my feet are killing me???
The walk to globe radio had some great photo opps on the way. I loved the Chinese lanterns! It's an area that I plan on exploring more of in days to come.
