Today I visited the Book Loft in search for my usual zombie books, but I decided to read a play as well. I usually hate plays, mainly because of the format they are written, but I really enjoyed this one. "All My Sons" is a play about a business man who sold airplane parts to pilots in World War II, which turn out to be faulty. Despite being aware of the fault, he falls to greed and sells the parts in order to prevent his company from crumbling. Not only does this result in the death of twenty one pilots, but the death of his own son. His greed and denial eventually turns into the guilt that consumes him, leading him to kill himself. I love this play's message. Everyone encounters crossroads throughout their lives. People are faced with the decision as to whether they fall to humanity's flaws, or do they over power them despite how society may view them? Not only do people have to face these crossroads, but the consequences that may lay on down the road. People must decide if they will allow these consequences to destroy them, or if they will over come them? To make this play even more amazing and powerful, to me at least, I realized that it's the origin of my favorite band's name.
