2020 Costume Wrap Up I ended up with a final count of 7 “finished” costumes this year. Now let’s be honest here, like many others, my motivation suffered pretty badly these past few months among many other things. The first 4: Felix, Hilda, Byleth, & Flayn, were all completed and worn in January while Aizawa and Acerola were October/Halloween and a casual Ochako was from this past week. There is quite the dead zone in between and you know what? That’s okay. There are more important things going on and my productivity as a cosplayer really isn’t that high on the list. Does it still kinda suck though? Of course. It’s what I love and have fun doing so without it, it does make me sad. Did I manage to work on stuff at all in the months of February-present? Yes, surprisingly. Here and there. I also have a few pre-made costumes I’m modifying and tailoring so there’s a lot sitting in my backlog just waiting to be finished. All in all, I had high aspirations this year and they didn’t happen 🤷‍♀️ but there is always next time and I eagerly await when I can safely see all of my friends again. 🐡🐠🐟 There are some minor things I’d like to fix on Flayn before I wear her again but overall I’m quite proud of all the details I was able to incorporate. I decided to follow through on putting the blue behind all of the gold on her dress which involved me hand cutting out each shape for it to show through. It was a lot.
