Russell stared back at Parker, his cheeks nearly going as red as his uniform at his reaction and how he had managed to scare Parker as well. He awkwardly rubbed at the back of his neck.
Misty, who had been sitting across Russell’s shoulders, only looked up and meowed. It seemed that none of the situation gave her any concern at all. She then went back to lounging around Russell’s neck once he moved his hand.
“Yeah, ehehe, it’s me,” he replied, fidgeting where he stood. He breathed deeply in an attempt to seem a bit calmer than he felt, “Ehehe, I’m glad you are, I, I guess I am, ehehe, I think?”
He looked down at himself, the look on his face suggesting that he still didn’t believe what had happened.
“I, uh, got autobalanced, to RED, ehehe, by a Magic Anon, ehehe, it’s not that I hate it, I got a lotta good friends in RED, but, ehe, it’s just, I’m still getting used to it, you know, ehehe…”
He looked away and then looked back.
“Like, it still feels I’m on territory I’m not welcome in, ehehe, and that I’m surrounded by people that would gladly kill me if they got me alone, ehehe,” he said, shaking his head, “I know it’s only because I’ve been in BLU five years and it’s not an easy thing to let go when it’s been drilled in and all… ehehe…”
He sighed and briefly wrung his hands together. The nails were chewed down almost halfway.
“Shit, sorry, I rambled, ehehe, I’ll be okay, ehehe…”
Parker glanced between Russell and the cat on his shoulder when it meowed, shifting his attention momentarily before looking back at Russell. “W-Well, a-ah, g-glad youre okay t-too-” Or that he thought so, at the very least.
The redhead quirked a curious eyebrow at his words, looking at the red uniform once more before back at Russell “Ah, greyfaces again huh..?”
It was odd, Russell seemed to get the more harmless ones, while Parker got, well... Either heaven or hell with them. He quickly told himself it was best not to think too hard on it.
“Aw, Russ, I think you’re always welcomed here, i mean- I can’t speak for- for everyone, but you’re a great guy, any team would be lucky to have ya.” Parker gave a smile, sincerity in his tone “If anyone gives you trouble, let me know, okay? Aint no one messes with my friends, and- well, my now teammate, albeit temporary, you still are one for now.”
He caught himself rambling and bit on the inside of his cheek, giving an awkward lopsided smile.
“Ah, i- kinda did too, ah- n-no worries.” He paused, trying to think of what else to say “Is- Is the uh.. Cat part of the change too?”
