Because there haven't been any updates to the Glitch Inn blog or website, I got inspired to make this. Wrote this in about an hour, so minimal editing and proofreading. I tried to avoid mistakes, but if there are some, oh well.
Anyway, feast on this ler!Pomni, lee!N story to tide you over. You're welcome!
Pomni glanced up from her digital cake. "You're still looking out?"
N sighed, finally turning away from the window. "I don't get it. We have lots of rooms, there's always a cozy fire, and I made sure to have lots of art ready to share!" He pulled a slightly-crumpled paper from his coat pocket and held it up.
The childish scribbles depicted a lopsided two-story building with colorful stick figures of Glitch characters holding hands in front.
"Do you think it needs more clouds?" N asked, staring at his drawing.
The jester girl set down her fork and hopped off her seat. "N, I think the drawing is...really something, but I don't think anyone's coming. The people that started Glitch Inn haven't been here in a long time, so no one really...knows...about us."
N's eyes hollowed for a moment. "So that's it? We're never getting visitors again?"
"I mean," Pomni said, tapping her pointer fingers together, "it's possible that the creators will come back. It's not entirely...hopeless?" She offered a weak chuckle.
The cinnamon-roll of a robot dropped onto the couch, yellow eyes staring at the floor. "I tried so hard to make sure people would like it here. I thought that..."
She patted his head. "It's okay. We all wanted this to work. Even Jax." Although the sadistic bunny just wanted more people to torment with extra spicy food pranks.
"Thanks for cheering me up, Pomni," N said, trying to flash a bright smile. But his eyes hollowed again; he was despondent.
She hated seeing her friend upset, but how could she make him feel better? Pomni racked her mind for any clues from N's show, Murder Drones, as to how to cheer him up.
Episode 1 had him chatting with Uzi, but the Solver Drone was "emo-ing out to some music" right now. Episode 2... well, Pomni avoided anything scary if she could help it, and that hook-worm-snake-crab thing creeped her out every time.
At least there was dancing in Episode 3, but she had no idea how to put on a school dance, and she'd really rather not ask Caine for help. And then back to the scary stuff in Episode 4. But Episode 5 was scary, too, so-
Wait. Pomni blinked as she remembered a particular scene part-way through. Her red-and-blue eyes slowly trailed to N, still frowning on the couch. Well, it couldn't hurt to try. And she found herself grinning as she tiptoed closer to the drone.
Slowly, she came up behind him. She then reached out a finger and poked N's cheek.
He squeaked, his tail straightening from the shock. "Ehehe, what are you doing, Pomni?" he asked, rotating his head to look at her, blush lines flashing on his visor.
"A little birdie thought you could use some cheering up," she said, a grin stretching across her face. She poked N's neck.
He instantly curled into a ball, giggling. "Heeheehee, no! Haha!"
Pomni reached over the couch and poked and prodded N around his neck and shoulders.
"BAHAHAHA! Pomni, heehee! Stop, hahaha!" N wiggled on his back, kicking his legs.
She stretched her arms until she could poke his belly.
His yellow eyes widened before he squeezed them shut. "AHAHAHA! IT TICKLES, HAHAHA! THE GOOD KIND, HEHEHE, BUT STILL! HAHAHAHA!"
Pomni's eyes did an anime sparkle. "Awww, so cute! It's great to see you happ-EEK!"
She had reached too far over the couch and tumbled over N and onto the floor.
"Ohoho, no! Pomni, you okay?" N rubbed away the tingles and knelt on the ground.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, her pupils just pencil scribbles from dizziness.
"Are you sure you're not hurt?"
Pomni glanced up - she froze when N's visor showed an X. "Uh, hehe, N? What's with the evil face?"
His chuckle was low and dark as he wiggled his fingers over her belly. "What's so evil about returning the favor?"
In seconds, Pomni's howls filled the inn lobby.
