Age regressors with the ""bad/naughty"" childish habits deserve love too.
Age regressors who pick their nose/bite their nails.
Regressors who eat play-doh or lego bricks. Who need reminders not to chew on things and certainly not to swallow them. Who are always looking for something to put in their mouths.
Who don't play by the rules, who play "wrong", who don't use their toys the way other kids use them.
Regressors who jump out of swings or climb up slides. Who spin the merry-go-round too fast.
Who are flight risks and tend to wander away from their caregivers to go look at things, or who are so clingy their caregivers have to remind them to loosen up their grip a little.
Regressors who break crayons. Who color too hard with their markers and press the ends back into the tubes. Who ignore the lines and scribble in their coloring books.
Who get cranky or weepy or sick when they wake up, or who get angry and stomp their feet when it's bedtime.
Regressors whose bodies hurt them, and who are stressed and angry because of it. Who use mobility aids, or who need mobility aids but cant get them, or who don't have the right mobility aid. Who get rightfully angry when told they're faking or that their disability isn't actually that bad.
Regressors who sometimes forget that we use nice hands and inside voices, and need help being reminded.
Just because you experience kidhood a little more aggressively doesn't mean you're any less deserving of it. Don't let anybody make you feel like you don't deserve to heal like the rest of us just because they don't want to see the sick parts. Your regression doesn't have to look perfect, and we hear that a lot, but part of that is that it doesn't have to look like the "ideal" of how an actual kid behaves either. Actual kids misbehave all the time because theyre stressed or cant regulate or cant explain themselves properly. Age Regressors are no different!! And however best helps you regulate, do that, not what everyone else says is "normal".
Hurting others is one thing. We should never use our hands, voices, or actions to hurt people. But kids (and regressors) who are misbehaving aren't hurting people on purpose or to be cruel, theyre regulating, and they deserve safe and healthy ways to do it as aggressively as they need to.
