The Dungeness estate in south-east England is up for sale, and the residents are worried.
Not sure if this turns out to be rather an advert for the purchase of Dungeness than the intended voice of the residents in answer to the surprising announcement by the trust that Dungeness is up for sale. Personally, I still hope there will be an art and nature loving millionaire who wants to buy it to conserve and foster Dungeness in all its current variety.
Dungeness is so full of life at the moment! Not only the odd busload of tourists, but the sound of young kestrels in their nest and the sight of one of their parents heading out to feed them, two cheerfully playing weasels under the kitchen window while I made the first cup of the day and finally an evening visit by a swarm of starlings - chirpy excitement!
30 minutes sounds and poetry from and about Dungeness by London-based poet Kate Tempest, produced and aired by BBC Radio3. Combined with voices of local families and fishermen, sounds from the nuclear power station, Derek Jarman's words, read by Keith Collins.
Welcome to the analogue family, little Praktica!
Heavy Evening in Dungeness
Well, lucky us, we've got this 'spectacle' again, so far for the last 4 hours. Can't sleep, the mega steamer keeps me up, Could you all use lots of energy, please?!

An afternoon well spent at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill @ Dear Serge. Caught only the last bit of Graham Dunning's exciting performance, very much regret not having attended his workshop that day: Ghost in the Machine Music: Build an abstract music making machine using scratched records, turntables and keyboards!
Enjoyed and explored some more of the Pavilions architecture lit by the afternoon sun on a cloudless blue sky while listening to Oliver Coates' cello and electronics set until finally finding myself on the balcony of a dark room, listening to Soccer96 and gazing at the moving colours on walls and ceiling, created by Innerstrings Psychedelic Lightshow.
A very pleasant afternoon!
