The night sky has just come out, bringing along with it a sea of stars- or so a poet would say. There’s barely a speck of a star against the black night, she can’t even see the moon from here! From here as in, in the city with blinding bright streetlights and a hand clutched firmly around her arm, dragging her further away from the Inazuma Caravan, one step at a time.
Touko is, frankly, more than a bit tired at what her good friend is willing to drag her out into the city for at this time of night. She was having a good conversation with the rest, too!
“Rika! Where are you taking me!?” she succumbs to her exasperation and asks. Her borderline shout is in no way ladylike, and she has a feeling she’s gonna get a lecture on being ladylike yet again after they get back to the Caravan later.
“The supermarket, of course!” Rika turns around to face her, holding a v-sign up with her other hand and winking. “Didn’t you hear about the amount of different products they have in that big place? It’s going to be amazing!”
Somehow, Rika’s grip on her tightens. She lets out an obvious sigh, the exhaustion in her bones turns two times worse at the stars that were practically visible in Rika’s eyes. She’s said countless times before that she isn’t into the super girly stuff, but here they are.
Sometimes, she questions how they became good friends in the first place, with the large gap in their interests. But she never gets the answer, because friendship is a forever-changing puzzle to her that she will never figure out.
“Didn’t you buy like, a bunch of stuff last time we went to one?” She vividly recalls having to help her hold her stuff, because apparently it was just simply too much for her to hold with her two thin arms. Really, how much money did she spare for their fight with the aliens?
“Yeah, but that was last time. Who knows what this one will get us!” Rika sounds so cheerful, and it makes her wonder how she still had the energy to spare after the turn of events they had went through yesterday.
Rika continues to drag her into the supermarket with too bright lights, seemingly without a care in the world. Touko can do nothing but follow her as they went from display to display. She doesn’t have the energy to match Rika’s, but she still has the energy to question almost every single one of her purchases.
“You don’t need a new bottle of conditioner, Rika,” Touko says as Rika stops to grab a bottle out of one particularly colorful display, flipping it around to read the labels. She’s pretty sure she didn’t finish the bottle she had gotten a while back yet.
“Hm,” Rika hums as she grabs another similar bottle off the display which was of a different color. “this looks good too... but maybe...?” she completely ignores her as she mutters to herself, looking between the two bottles for a moment. She puts the two bottles back and walks away without warning, and Touko scrambles as she catches up.
“Don’t suddenly walk off like that!” She shouts once she’s walking beside her, but Rika doesn’t seem to be paying attention, because she was muttering away with a hand under her chin. It doesn’t bother Touko, so she lets her continue whatever she’s doing and just follows her lead.
The third time Rika walks away from a display she was previously engrossed in, Touko finally gets concerned enough to speak up.
“Hey, Rika?” No response. “Riiika? Hello?” No response yet again.
“Hey!” She shouts, and jabs her in the shoulder. It seems to work when Rika stops muttering and actually looks surprised. “What the heck’s up with you?” she asks, paying extra attention when Rika averts her eyes.
“Well, er,” Rika tries to start, but all she does is stammer. Oh no, she can’t just drag her to a supermarket and yet keep her out of whatever she wants to do here. No way she’s taking that laying down. Whatever is making her this nervous, she’s gonna have to share the burden.
“Just spill it.” She cuts in with her arms crossed. She will not let this go unless she gets an explanation, and Rika knows that, judging by the sigh she lets out. She even lets her arms drop down in defeat along with it.
Rika takes a look around, turning her head this way and that, then leans closer to Touko as if sharing a secret. “I’m here to buy a gift,” she whispers, then leans away while Touko blinks once as she processes.
“Wait, a gift?” She had completely thought that Rika was here for herself. Looks like she got it all wrong this time.
“Yeah,” Rika pauses for a moment, and that’s certainly a first for her. “For Aphrodi. You know, since he’s in the hospital and all.”
“For him?” She lets out, still a bit dumbfounded at this new information that has suddenly been thrown onto her.
Rika nods, then looks away. When she looks back, she seems determined on something.
“Okay, truth is,” She looks back, leaning a bit closer too. “I’ve wanted to talk to him for a while.”
“Like, his hair is so smooth and pretty! His skin is practically flawless, and his face doesn’t have a single pimple on it!” She talks quickly, like she’s forcing herself to spill. “I want to ask him about how he does it, maybe even become buddies if we can!”
Touko doesn’t do anything but listen intently as her best friend rants.
“But, I don’t really know how,” She shrinks a bit while her previously raised hands fall back down. “Talking to other girls about skincare and stuff is easy, but I’ve never talked this stuff with a boy before. What if he thinks I’m crazy or something!”
“Whoa, calm down,” Touko says first, and Rika closes her mouth. She doesn’t really know how to comfort her, but she’ll try her best even if it kills her. “First of all, I completely agree with you on his hair. It’s a miracle how smooth it looks.”
“Second of all, I’m pretty sure it’s completely the same as talking to any other girl about it,” She continues, and uses her hand to close Rika’s mouth when she opens it to interject. “I don’t know him well, but I don’t think he’ll judge you like that, even if it’s girly stuff.”
“Anyway, you’re just thinking too much.” She pulls her hand back from Rika’s mouth. “Just get out there and talk to him like you always do. I’m sure you’ll become friends as fast as I did with Endou. Maybe even faster, who knows!”
“Just get out there and try,” She says, smiling for the first time since she was dragged here while she tries to end her speech in a not so awkward note. “Stop worrying so much, we have enough mother hens with the managers around.”
Rika giggles a bit at that, and seems relatively more calm than before. She considers that a job well done.
“Okay okay,” Rika replies, grabbing Touko’s arm again. “but you’re still helping me in picking out a gift.”
“Aw man, really?” She whines, making Rika giggle again.
“No escaping! We’re not going back to the Caravan unless I get this gift!” Rika shouts, full of energy as she goes to another aisle.
“Fine, but can’t you just get like fruits or flowers or something?” Touko says as she accepts being dragged. Wouldn’t normal ordinary hospital gifts do?
“Nope, no way am I going to get something that normal!” Rika completely pulls her right pass the aisle of fruits and heads towards what she can see as a bunch of mashed up colors on a too tall shelf.
“What did I expect!” The previous bone-aching exhaustion slips into her voice, but she starts laughing a bit right after she says it.
They ended up staying a bit too long, considering between two wildly different things. But at Touko’s suggestion, they buy both of the things and head back on their merry way to the Caravan. Aphrodi’s going to be surprised at the gift, and Touko can only hope the first impression gives him enough mental preparation to deal with the storm that is Urabe Rika.
Everyone is panicking over TOS-es right now as they find a new home as Tumblr gets flushed down the toilet. I don’t like those random TOS breakdowns because the analysis is always wrong.
Anyway this is what people pay me to do and I will now do it for $0 because I’m tired of everyone spreading misinformation. This post is not a substitute for legal advice etc. Reblogs are appreciated because I literally see TOS nonsense on my dash every day.

Google Drive (TOS)
Google doesn’t have rights to do whatever they want to files you upload to Google Drive
Their TOSes are annoyingly broad in drafting but essentially boilerplate clauses that they need to host your work, use google translate on it, make it searchable etc. They cannot steal your fanfic. They cannot modify your art and use it for whatever.
Your work MAY be threatened (that is, deleted) thanks to FOSTA/SESTA, which imo is a clown provision signed by a clown that sent safe harbour down the toilet. This and this has more information (I’ve skimmed but not perused both), but the tl;dr is: similar to Tumblr, there was a ham-fisted attempt to protect victims of sex trafficking and all it really did was make cloud based services start deleting user files whether relevant or not.
deviantART (Submission Policy) (TOS)
Uploading work to dA doesn’t give them a license to sell it to Hot Topic. This post is incorrect. Debunked here and corrected by the artist himself here. Your art is safe.
There’s a breakdown of the TOS in there that’s pretty much wrong on most points, if someone wants me to do a not-wrong version, ask. This may help.
All you really need to know is that like Google, I checked it over and nothing in there puts you at risk for dA asserting ownership over your work or selling it - they need those rights for thumbnails, search functions, resizing etc.
Sexually explicit fanart is not allowed, as well as “obscenity”, which is an oddly broad term covering things like “sexually orientated commercial telephone messages”.
I’m not aware of any content purges.
AO3 (TOS)
Yum. I like this one. Easy to read and clearly explained for most people with basic reading comprehension. Section G - What We Do With Content will tell you everything you need to know.
Basically, they have the same clauses about you granting AO3 a license to modify/apart/etc you work, but they take the trouble to explain to you exactly what that means, and how they use it to improve accessibility etc.
No history of content purges as far as I know. Explicit content is allowed with limits eg. no child porn.
Wordpress (TOS)
Same deal - you’re looking for 1. Wordpress - Responsibility of Contributors, with the exact same thing as everybody else. They also do a decent job of explaining what they use the license for (though once again, it’s standard), albeit not as beautifully as AO3.
However, images of sexual acts (including fanart) are against TOS.
I found no history of content purges.
Dreamwidth (TOS)
Same old standard licensing clause, again doesn’t let them steal your stuff.
Incredibly…open content policies…you can basically do whatever you want so long as you don’t break laws or commit fraud it seems? If I’m wrong, feel free to correct.

Pillowfort has clarified that art containing pre-pubescent children in sexual situations is not allowed. However teenagers/anyone who could be confused as being Of Age at a glance are treated Of Age for the purpose of art.
They do allow sexual content and are working on moving to a domain that allows more freedom with regards to porn.

It’s not like a personal or small business site where you pay $25/mo for a shared hosting package and knock yourself out
You need multiple, dedicated, high-performance servers to handle a service like Tumblr or AO3, or Facebook, or what have you, to keep up with the insane amount of bandwidth and unfathomable amount of data.
Shit cost thousands of dollars a month. And those costs only go up the more users you have. Into the tens of thousands of dollars a month. Someone has to foot the bill for it. And that doesn’t include the salaries of the developers who pour hours of their time into making things function the way they need to.

No, they didn’t “just get greedy”. This is how free services work. They aren’t magically able to sustain themselves. At any point. Ever.
Investors see proof of concept during the infancy of a project, and they pour their money– hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars– to 1) help fund the project into maturity. (Maturity = stable performance and a large, growing userbase) and 2) have a seat at the table when big decisions are made
Until that point, you won’t see ads, or be nagged to donate, or forced to pay a fee to access your content. That’s no accident.
Investors eat the cost of running and developing the service, because they know that once that userbase has been established, they can– you guessed it– SELL YOUR DATA TO ADVERTISERS.
They can’t do that until after they have users for advertisers to sell their shit to!
That’s how the investors make their money back, that’s how the service becomes profitable instead of being a giant cash pit.
So for the love of God, can we PLEASE stop slandering sites like AO3, Wikipedia, and now Pillowfort for having the audacity to ask for donations, or for having tiered/paid membership options for additional, non-essential features??

[Orion Ep 7] A couple of thoughts with Kidou being “caught for doping”
Just a couple of thoughts and info thought I’d share about the whole Kidou and doping situation during the latest Inazuma Eleven Orion match.
I previously used to design for anti-doping national sport related stuff am somewhat familiar with anti-doping rules, process etc. both locally (New Zealand) and internationally (for world sports) due to having to design and research regarding this area for work - which has why these thoughts have been stirring in my head and I wanted to write them all out before I forgot.
Obviously this is an anime and they’re just gonna do whatever suits the plot / not be realistic, but thought this might be interesting to anyone. Also generated a lot of ideas for fanfic content xD
As obvious, doping serious offence to sport, not just to post-school professional athletes (whose main career is their sport) and national athletes, but also includes casual sports, and school level sports.
That being said Aqua of the Gods cough*
Most likely, during the first night at the training facility or prior, the Inazuma Japan team would probably be briefed in some way about doping and drugs.
For anyone competing at a National level (e.g those participating in the FFI) would have to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE) which is required when a prohibited medication is needed for medical reasons.This can include Inhalers, certain antibiotics and Narcotics such as Morphine.
For example, if Nosaka comes back onto the team but is still on certain medications from his illness, he’d have to apply for a TUE so that if he is tested for doping that he won’t get caught out for violating anti-doping laws
Certain drugs can stay in your system for years and could get caught out. Looking at Zeus and Aphrodi who took Aqua of the Gods the year prior, if we compare AotGs with Steroids which can rid within a person system within a few weeks, it wouldn’t ruin their chances of joining Inazuma Japan (but hey they won’t bring this up lol)
Their are 10 core rules regarding anti-doping sports internationally:
Possess prohibited substances or methods
Traffic or attempt to traffic a prohibited substance or method
Use or attempt to use a prohibited substance
Administer a prohibited substance or method
Refuse to provide a sample for drug testing
Fail to file accurate where-abouts info or miss a test
Tamper with any part of the doping control process
Test positive for a prohibited substance
Cover up an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV)
Associate with someone found guilty of an ADRV
Regardless of whether or not Kidou has done anything, he has been found breaking Rule No.1 Possess prohibited substances or methods.
Not even getting to having consumed it, Kidou has still be found possession of having drugs and there is no proof of Ichihoshi or anyone placing the drugs in his bag / him just not having drugs at all (I doubt they’d have cameras in the changing rooms themselves).
The only ways for him to be proved of innocence is if a third party saw Ichihoshi putting the drugs in his bag or Ichihoshi admitting himself that he placed them there.
In World Anti-doping rules could result to him being banned from soccer for a minimum of 2 years.
As a third year junior high student, that would mean he would not be able to play or practise soccer for a school or local team till the end of his 2nd year or start of third year of High School.
Could potentially mean he would not even be allowed any association with the sport to even stop him becoming an advisor or manager to a team as well.
Will damage Kidou’s long term goals as a soccer player being stunted two years within his career
Kidou would not be able to play with Endou or Gouenji anymore, but only be able to watch them. That would include Sakuma, Genda, Fudou :c
This in turn will damage his reputation.
Even if he is found out to be innocent and not guilty, the damage has been done of Kidou already being painted in a negative light on a national level (e.g being printed on the news)
Potentially prospect high schools may reject him because of this?
The random thought that Ichihoshi could frame another member of the team because of Rule 10: Associate with someone found guilty of an ADRV
(but hey this is Inazuma and I doubt they’d ban one of the main characters
which everyone loves for two years xD)
(If this was irl they would not deem him suspended instantly in front of everyone and a sports official would not grab a 15 year old boy as roughly as that - but hey, you know the anime dramatics inazuma pulls lol)
Testing for anti-doping
Any athlete whether a national level player or a casual / school level member can be tested at any time, anywhere.
In international events there will be a Registered Testing Pool with chosen athletes competing to take part in the test. There’s normally a criteria and a number of athletes who match that criteria would have to take this test.
It is often the event-holders (can’t remember the name) - in this case the people who are running the FFI would be in charge running these anti-doping tests.
Potential manipulation of Kidou’s test results could be because of FFI secret people who potentially are involved in orion
They’d work together with the Japanese anti-doping agency and world anti-doping agency within each case.
The process (obviously would have variations especially in Japan to other countries). I won’t go in depth with the process, but here are a few things:
Kidou must stay in direct sight of the anti-doping official at all times
He’ll be asked to take either (or both) a urine or blood sample.
Yes, an official will have to watch him pee to assure that the sample is legit and not tampered with.
He is the only person allowed to have a hold of his test sample, he will be the person to seal it in the tamper proof kit and watch it be sent off to a World Anti Doping accredited lab for analysis
For further analysis, Kidou’s sample may be frozen & stored for 10 year which totally could mean someone could steal his sample and make clones of Kidou xD
There’s so much more about this topic if it wasn’t 1AM for me.
Again, obviously this is Inazuma Eleven and they wouldn’t put too much of the irl stuff into the anime, but it’s rather fun to think of it in this context or irl anti-doping + what would kidou go through + just some neat fanfic material.
