Soar Spotlight: Spotlight!

Spotlight is a Velocitronian, and one of the rare fliers on the planet. He lacks speed and the inner drive to race (he can get competitive in foot races). He used to work a factory job before a hearing a stranger from Cybertron talk about Primus and the Primes. Velocitron in general doesn’t believe in the Primes, and all information on them is scarce. Spotlight found this information and became a devout believer in the Primes. He wanted to pursue a dream of creating a place of worship on Velocitron.

Spotlight ended up on the streets after leaving his job and ran into Crossroad, a famous spaceship racer. The two quickly became friends and Spotlight was allowed to stay with Crossroad. Eventually, Crossroad convinced Spotlight to join him and go to Cybertron (citing the fact that he had no competition left). They both left for Cybertron and where Spotlight could build his place of worship.

Both then were thrown from their ship in the Space bridge as the bridge was blowing up. They ended up on Cybertron with only what they had in hand. Crossroad later joined the Decepticons as a pilot and secured a position for Spotlight. Both were assigned to the Reaper, and they now serve on the ship for the rest of its days. Spotlight also now takes care of Jett, acting as a parental figure.

Jett the jet. He’s pretty young and acts his age. Spotlight is about the only one who can get him to behave.

Quick guide to the Soar Continuity

All transformers are inherently genderless. Pronouns vary bot to bot.

All things written about them are meant to be a translation. The reason they use different pronouns is the translation picks what best suits them, or whatever it can. Some words (like mother) don’t exist in their language.

Bots form naturally (from geodes and metal seas) and unnaturally (from harvested sparks into manufactured bodies). This means parents aren’t a thing. Bots also come online knowing the basic things they need to function (unless there’s a glitch). Mentors are a rare occurrence, and they only act as personal teachers for bots with promising talent.

The war started over an energon crisis. The space bridge blew up, leaving Cybertron without the colonies that had provided the necessary energon for Cybertron’s population to grow. Megatron had a different solution than the council, and that’s when the war really started. The Autobots formed to try to promote peace, but that quickly changed after the council’s death and Megatron’s more sinister actions. Everyone who was on the colonies when the Space bridge collapsed are presumed dead.

Soar continuity’s Combaticon designs

Onslaught’s alt mode would be modified with his cannons, of course.

Their lore in Soar is pretty bare, but I do have some to share. Each member was recruited by Onslaught at various times. Vortex was the last member, and was recruited when he was in the hospital.

I don’t know if they’d ever make an appearance in the main storyline of Soar.

these laughable goofers are Jett and Spotlight. Jett is so pretty tiny and Spotlight just can’t help spoiling his little kid

The plucky Decepticon team: Daybreakers!

Reverse is the leader of the team, and is chronically recharge deprived. He also is second in command of the Reaper.

Plunder is a master thief whose charm is only a facade. He steals everything not bolted to the ground.

Jett is the youngest of the group, only around 3 days old when he was assigned to the Reaper. He’s full of energy and is very childlike.

Crossroad is a triple changer and pilot of the Reaper. He’s also a Velocitronian in my continuity. Jett often gets on his nerves. He’s grumpy with a soft spot for Spotlight.

Spotlight is also a Velocitronian, and a parental figure to Jett. He’s the most religious of the group. He often has to keep the group together when Reverse is incapacitated.

TF Soar continuity: how transformers are created

There are two categories that relate to how a bot is created: natural and artificial. All bots come online with basic knowledge, such as how to transform, speak, and move.

Natural

Geode created: these bots are formed in geodes that are in Cybertron’s crust. A surge of energy from the planet’s core sparks the bot to life, and they emerge onto the surface. Bots created in this way are prone to having physical defects, such as plating misalignment. This creation method also cause siblings, as multiple bots sometimes will form in the same geode.

Sea created: these bots are formed when a form of high energy hits a living metal sea. The energy causes some metal to solidify into a bot. They have a natural data transfer of information, and any corruption of that data can lead to processor defects.

Artificial

Harvest created: the bodies of these bots are manufactured, but their sparks are “harvested”. Siphons are put into Cybertron’s crust, and will sometimes catch energy waves that create sparks. These sparks are then placed into the manufactured body. These bots are prone to the same defects as Sea created.

Split created: the bodies are manufactured, and the sparks can be created the same way, but also can be harvested from unhealthy bots near the end. The sparks are then split into smaller pieces and are placed into the bodies. The bots are prone to the same defects as Sea created, but also can have defects in powering the body. In general, the sparks that can’t power a full size body are put into a smaller one.

Transformers fan continuity

Characters are part of my transformers fan continuity: Soar

Air Commander Skydancer and the rest of the crew of the Reaper are essentially stuck in space. Isolated from the Decepticons and Autobots, they do pretty much whatever they want. The crew has to get along and find a way to keep themselves alive.

I’m happy to explain anything. I’ve been working on this for a while, so I have a lot more stuff to share. I mostly have world building and character information to share.

Name: Brightshield/ Lightdancer

Alt mode: B-17 Flying Fortress

Faction: Autobot

Skydancer’s twin brother. He left the Decepticons after joining with his sister. While his sister thinks he’s deactivated, he joined the Autobots. He changed his name from Lightdancer to Brightshield. His partner’s is named Sunblast.
