Anyway, I'm back in the saddle, so to speak.
I need some new material for my next Cooking with Eugene installment, though, so please drop some ideas in my Ask!

Gene, just wanna say. Massive fan of the show, thanks for keeping up the spirits when the world has gone to pot. Now a question, out of curiosity: when Jack gets into one of his rambling moods, what's the most effective way to shut him up?
Thanks for listening! Great to hear from our fans.Hmm, I've found it's easiest to either change the subject suddenly (his brain doesn't handle sharp turns so well), or offer him some tea or food. He'll usually shut up for a little while if he's occupied with eating (except when he isn't, and then it's gross).I've found a few other ways to deter rambling, but I don't think he'd thank me for sharing them publicly.
Glad to hear you are feeling better, Eugene!! We were all slightly worried Jack would pass out from exhaustion/awesome DJing.
Thankfully, I was able to put him to bed and make him drink some fluids before we had ANOTHER hospital visit on our hands. I'm sure Doctor Myers will thank me later. ;) Good to be back!

Hey, listeners, just wanted to let you know that I'm not dead yet! Good news, eh? I've (mostly) recovered from the food poisoning, and I've been allowed to go home. You can all rest assured that I will sit on Jack myself until he gets some sleep (maybe literally...).
Thanks for your patience with this little hiccough in our programming schedule. We'll continue to bring you that hard-hitting journalism and sparkling entertainment that you've come to expect from us, after we've both had some rest.

It's been confirmed: Food poisoning.
Not fatal, but really unpleasant. Dr. Myers is keeping me as comfortable as she can, all considering, and I should be back on the air in a few days. Thanks for your patience, listeners. I hope you can all endure Jack's zombie-themed puns for a little longer in my absence.

Sure thing, and call my a hypocryte but my advice is to do what you need to do for Jack and stay out of it.
Penn's my friend, too. I don't know what's happened between him and Jack to cause this mess, but I can't exactly stand by and do nothing. I'm not going to deal with Penn just now, though. He obviously needs some time and plenty of space to sort his head out. My main concern is Jack right now.

Penn, I don't know what the hell's got into you lately. If you're trying to push people away for whatever reason, congrats, it's working. When you think you can hold a conversation again without throwing punches, maybe we can talk.

In case anyone is wondering, cold t-shirts are wonderful on black eyes. Sam and I found that out the other night. So Janine, that might work.

Jack’s taking this whole thing pretty hard, even black tea and pictures of kittens aren’t cheering him up. I would suggest getting Eugene over here, but that might exacerbate the problem.
We have plenty of cold water. One good thing about no hot showers, I think.
