Let’s take a rocketship back to 1960 with the great Sun-Ra and his Arkestra.
Way before my time, but I fell in love with this piece over the weekend while waiting for the floodwaters to recede.

Magdalen Square, downtown Abbeville, La. A much drier day.
Today, the river came up this high.
That’s all trash that floated downriver, piled against the bridge for want of somewhere to go.
My town looks like this right now.
I’m marooned.

I just found out that a friend of mine, Rev. Frank Sherard, a minister at Jerusalem Christian Church, an LGBT-affirming place of worship in Lafayette, La., passed away, brought down by a Grand Mal seizure this morning. He leaves behind a wife and three little girls. He was only 51.
RIP, Frank. Your kindness, your gentle humor, your words of wisdom, your friendship, and especially your unfailing compassion will be sorely missed.

THIS IS THE BEST THING you’ll see or hear on YouTube today—a flash mob playing Beethoven/Schiller’s famous “Ode to Joy”. In the middle of a European plaza.
Taking it to the streets. Truly, a priceless moment.
And at my alma mater, one of the pet alligators got loose again.

Only in Louisiana.
It’s raining in Abbeville
And the heat index is 102℉. You could actually die of heatstroke in the rain.
I just posted an entire album of my own music for you to listen to while you work, relax, get a massage, or whatever. Enjoy :)
Intel spent a gazillion bucks on a contraption that shoots ping-pong balls, and this guy outdid them with a bucket full of spare parts and some whimsy :)

Believe it or not, there are no electronic sounds in this piece. The only sound featured is a short sample of me, whistling a single, high note into my laptop microphone. The rest is WavePad Sound Editor. Best with headphones. Avoid doing anything dangerous while listening, as it can send you into a trance.
The word “listen” contains the same letters as the word “silent”.
