Help my best friend escape a toxic, abusive home

Hi, please dont scroll past this!

I'm making this post on behalf of my friend Teyah, who is a mixed jewish disabled agender bi person living with an incredibly abusive father. It's dad constantly denies it food, access to medical care, and other basic necessities. It's father has also put it in dangerous situations numerous times to where it's unsafe for it to remain in the home with him. We're currently working out a plan to move in together, but it isn't possible right at this moment.

Because of it's disability, Teyah can't work and hasn't been able to get SSDI yet, leaving it completely reliant on it's father who abuses and isolates it. It's also become harder for it to walk, so it needs things to help improve it's mobility and manage symptoms. We've included it's Amazon wishlist full of things that would help improve it's quality of life.

If you could donate to it or buy it something from it's wishlist, and help it get a little bit closer to escaping it's abuser, it would really help it out!!

I think now is a good time to say this too (esp. since I’ve gotten a lot of new followers):

If you’re racist in any way (this includes disregarding any character’s canon ethnicity and whitewashing) unfollow me right now. I don’t want you interacting with me or the content I put out or reblog, you’re not welcome here. Where media and its fandoms are concerned whitewashing is still so disgustingly prevalent and it needs to stop, and as white allies it’s especially important to speak up about this and use your voices and platforms to help bring attention to it.

Now since this is an HH blog, where Alastor is concerned it’s okay if you’re a newer fan and you legitimately didn’t know he was mixed! But you need to take accountability for it especially if you’ve actively contributed to the whitewashing. It’s so extremely important to listen to black voices when it comes to this and we need to help amplify them and lift them up. And this goes for everywhere else too, not just with this specific situation. Listen to black voices everywhere and anywhere. Refusing to do so is just abusing your white privilege and contributing to the problem.

bringing this back just to say that drawing him with slightly darker skin & white features is still bad. it's still whitewashing. I don't care if it's unintentional, you should not need to have this explained to you and if you're going to draw black or otherwise nonwhite ppl u should at least have the decency to attempt to learn how to do it right. I don't care about your excuses and I don't care if you don't know how. Get it together and make an effort or don't do it at all.
