corfortiiumâ:
lily had always admired petunia, for more reasons than one, and for reasons sheâd doubt sheâd ever tell. her observant nature, for one. you couldnât lie to petunia; she could read you before you even opened your mouth. petunia also knew her worth, so unequivocally, so unfaltering. truthfully, though maybe no one would see it that way, she was a bit envious of her sister. for being everything she couldnât: calm, discerning, UNFOOLISH.Â
petunia had told her not to be friends with severus. even from the beginning, she saw what lily couldnât. she saw what lily wouldnât. and petunia didnât pick fights with people twice her size, and petunia didnât wander hogsmeade alone so close to curfew at thirteen (and a half). petunia just wasnât as â naive as lily, and though the red head was too prideful to ever admit she was naive, petunia was more mature than sheâd ever be.Â
â a lot of boys are handsy, yeah.  â lily shrugged as she settled down into the libraryâs cushioned armchair a bit more. they were far enough back, away from other students. it had been their âsecretâ study spot since lily arrived in 1st year, and petunia had found her crying because she couldnât get into the ravenclaw common room after some second years had beat her up.Â
â  remus isnât â i think youâd rather like him, once you got to know him. heâs quiet at first. but wickedly clever and very sweet. i said that. you should sit with him at the match saturday. i know itâs gryffindor versus hufflepuff, but since iâll be playing â youâve absolutely got to come.  â
she didnât mean to be pushy.. or a know-it-all, it was simply in her nature to warn others of danger. if she felt it, if she saw it.. petunia warned. she was cautious and careful.. but sometimes she found herself wondering if she was too much of both of those things. what if she was missing out on life because she was waiting around for something or someone that may or may not exist?    â not all of them, but quite a few. â petunia also shrugged as she pulled her legs up to tuck underneath her in her own plush chair. she sunk back into it, making sure her skirt was tucked around her legs properly. flashing anyone wasnât in the cards tonight.    â i know you want me to be included even deeper in your life, but trying to set me up with one of your crushâs best mates doesnât seem wise. â she had to smirk a little at the comment. of course she was teasing her sister, who wouldnât? â BUT, either way.. iâll be there.  to watch you, of course. âÂ
