Sere nodded and opened the door. “Come on in.”

Luca did as she told him, frowning a little. “I’m sorry...”

“Seems to be a lot for you.”

“Thanks for reminding me.”

“Well, I can’t be sure unless I hear it from them, but I guess I can give you the benefit of the doubt.”

“Sounds good. I’m pretty sure they would back me up, though.”

Sere’s ears perked up at the sound of food. She swears she was worse than a dog. She cracked the door slightly, poking her head out. “Did you say pizza?”

“I did in fact say pizza... Can I come in?”

“...I have pizza. C’mon. Open up.”

“Is that what your siblings would say, though?”

“Exactly what they would say. They better, anyway.”

“Dang.” The awkward was sitting on Tahlia’s chest like a boulder. “Well… that sucks.”

“Eh. Happens.”

“Did she really, though?”

“Yeah... Probably ruined my friendship with her, but whatever. You’ll have that,” he said with a laugh.

“Truly. Especially big brothers. You’re not a big brother are you?”

“Guilty as charged. Don’t be fooled, though. I’m a great big brother.”

“My old man called me today to tell me to be safe and have fun… By old man I mean my big brother, and by ‘be safe and have fun’ he means ‘let me live vicariously through you.’ What a loser. Siblings are so weird.”

“They really are, aren’t they?”
