Little more lore rambling under the cut
Cyraleen Shire, Captain of The Crow Haven, her family had claimed the voidship during a mutiny many generations ago. She has been her captain for at least three decades. A ruthless woman known for her strict rule but also her deep protectiveness of both her family and crew.
Valixander, First Mate and partner to Cyraleen. Formerly part of the Imperial Navy, as well as one of significant rank, he is now a deserter and traitor.
Fun fact, the blue earring they both wear are from the same pair. It is a Shire family tradition and to signify closeness to a favoured partner. Acts like wedding rings or friendship bracelets, as it can be romantic or platonic, and can be any kind of earrings. Rendall definitely carries this tradition with him.
Lydia, oldest of the twins, she is intelligent, quiet and cautious. Yet she still gets roped into her brothers' shenanigans.
Kian, youngest twin to his sister, rowdy, loud and has a penchant for stirring up trouble in clever ways.
Rendall was a quiet, cry baby of a child when he was younger. He looked up to his siblings though and was around both or one of them most of the time whether they liked it or not.
He was growing into a clever teenager before The Crow Haven was raided and his Darkest Hour began.
And a bit from Rendall's bio (some have probably seen this but I think it is a decent enough description of The Crow Haven):
The majority of his early life was on his family’s pirate ship, his mother being the captain, The Crow Haven, in the Calixis Sector; his family took part in most parts of piracy, smuggling and anything to make money flow. He grew up learning all the tricks of the trade or ‘the art of piracy’ as his parents would call it as well as help with the upkeep of the ship from an early age. The voidship was many things, it acted as a traveling thieves' den, a haven and shady tavern for those floating through the void. As well as a place for storage and transport of goods. The Crow Haven was a microcosm of both the best and worst aspects of the universe. It attracted a various bunch from deserters, mutants, psykers, and more. Life was rough and brutal, but also filled with camaraderie and a sense of family that he would cling to. He is the youngest child of three.

It isn't any big changes, just tiny details I wanted on his design for a while now and keeping it simple so I don't hate myself for drawing it over and over.
The necklace was definitely a long time coming, made with pieces of scrap metal. Making jewelry with scrap is one of his less known hobbies. This necklace in particular he wears all the time because he believes the pieces of scrap from his destroyed mothership. Yay story telling in design!
Changed up his spine augment, made it more simple for my own sake and gave him extra earrings because why not. Mapped out his most prominent scars too.
More detail for the tattoo because I should give it more attention as it is the only one I gave him. Added the little dagger on the hand for reasons
More defined triangles in his overall clothing because shape language, triangles = dangerous but his body in general is rounder. More story telling! Shown character depth!
I wanted the clothing to go in a more "piratey" direction too, personalized the coat more, with wings on the shoulders and skull on the back in between them. Also more gold accents and two side gunslinger belts. Love belts.
I got to make a real full body ref, expressions and a ref for his weapons.
