I have no one to talk to. Is there anyone out there?
Is Reading Vogue Embarrassing Now?
Honestly, I think women get shamed for having boyfriends or acting really into a man. I’ve definitely seen it a lot online. It’s not like it’s a new thing though, women get shamed for throwing pants at celebrities on stage (and rightly so) but also for writing fanfiction involving men, the supposed idea that all fanfiction is just about women fantasising about men all the time. Like men don’t do the same when they write women in movies! It’s swings and roundabouts. Women have always been shamed for showing affection and intense emotion. While men do it and no one notices or it is just accepted as normal.
On the other hand, I been have on both sides of this coin. I have listened to many of my friends talk non stop about their boyfriends like nothing else exists in the world. Lost female friends just because a boyfriend appeared. And I have also been that person that disappeared from my friend’s life because someone new came into mine (sometimes life just happens). But the right friends will always be there when you come back to them, if you do. Or they’ll never have left your side and really, you’ll never have left there’s. Not in heart.
Anyone can think they love a rose.. but if they love the rose because it’s beautiful and because it’s easy and because it’s a trend to love the rose, is it really love?
It isn’t difficult to love a leaf, the leaf is beautiful, but to keep loving the leaf when everyone else loves the rose and think you should love the rose too, that’s the difficulty.. loving the leaf rocks the boat.
It’s ordinary to love the trend and beautiful to love the ordinary and to see more in the ordinary than the ordinary.
To all the far and few Jonathan Byers fans out there that have been with him since season 1 but actually recognise the invisibility and replacement his character has undergone during the show.. thank you. I’ve seen you. I thought I was his only fan, but with the season coming out I have seen other Jonathan fans and it brings me hope to see people can actually see what’s happened to his character outside of his limited screen time and still appreciate him for the character he started out as and should be. I really wanna write a story that develops his character more the way he could have been now. I have been re inspired to think about his character.
And people forget Charlie Heaton has been in other shows and films and is actually a really good actor. ‘As You Are’ being one of my favourites.
(Another fact I didn’t realise until recently was Charlie grew up in the same town in England that my mum grew up in and me too!)
