Lori internally cringed at the descriptive detail he gave her. Normally she could take the gruesome details but with this being someone she was close with, she didn’t want to think about him being ripped apart. “Shame, we don’t want that then.”
She always enjoy Peter without his mask on, so when he started taking it off she started to get excited. It had been month since she saw his scarred face and she preferred it much more then when he had the mask on though she couldn’t complain either way. Stepping closer to him, she ran one of her hands down his cheek before tracing the scars with her fingers. ”That maybe true but I don’t think you need to have anymore but I will still think you are perfect no matter what you do, so just take the compliment yeah?”
"Perfect?" The sheer amount of compliments she was giving him made him feel uneasy, and it showed on his face. He wasn't used to people touching him, not gently, at least. Any time anyone had lifted a hand to his face, it wasn't to caress his scars and tell him he was perfect. It usually had more dislocations and bruises involved. He was tense as she did it, giving her a suspicious look that darted from her hand to her face and back a few times. It was obvious it was unwelcome affection, but he didn't know how to react to it. A gesture like that was completely foreign. Even his mother had denied him a touch that soft, the closest thing coming from his deranged scissor-twirling sister. Was Lori about to hit him..?
Though they'd healed long ago, to the point that he wasn't entirely sure where his scars were on his face without a mirror or photo nearby, he could tell that's what her finger followed. "Do they bother you?" He fiddled with the mask in his hands. Maybe taking it off had been impolite. "I find wearing a mask like this to be dreadfully claustrophobic after a time. It's rather thick and heavy." To make his point, he knocked his knuckles to the mask's forehead, making a dull thunk sound to prove it's material. "It still shatters every now and again, but leaves much fewer splinters than the original model. And, if it's any consolation," he absently closed a hand over the long scar around his neck. "I rather like them, myself."
