She's dropping outta school 'cause she don't need the grades. The colors in her hair don't seem to fade. I get dressed up when I go out but she gets dressed down.
She's 17, I told her I'm 20. I can't take her out 'cause mum's got no money. It's stuff like this that makes me wish that I could change somehow.
Sitting here at home, it's obvious.
She's so out of reach, and I'm finding it hard 'Cause she makes me feel, makes me feel, Like I try, like I try, like I'm trying too hard, 'Cause I'm not being me, and it's getting me down That she makes me think, makes me think, That I try, that I try, that I'm trying too hard again
'Cause I'm trying too hard again

Challenge 7 || Sadie's Moodboard
Time to lay claim to the evidence Fingerprints sell me out but our footprints' washed away From the docks downtown It's been getting late for days And I feel myself deserving of a little time off
We can kick it, hang for hours And just mouth off about the world And how we know it's going straight to hell
Pass me another bottle, honey The Jager's so sweet But if it keeps you around, then I'm down
Meet me on Thames Street, I'll take you out Though I'm hardly worth your time In the cold you look so fierce But I'm warming up because the tension's like a fire
We'll hit South Broadway in a matter of minutes And like a bad movie I'll drop a line Fall in the grave I've been digging myself But there's room for two, six feet under the stars
Sex with a person is a notch on the belt, metaphorically. You can see where it goes from there. [grins a little before smirking] You really, really haven’t met someone worse than me.
[considers that, her lips twisting down] Hmm... Yeah, I was right. I didn't want to know. [shakes her head ruefully] So you just... sleep with them and leave them? What about afterwards? Don't you feel... somewhat guilty?
Hmm, I don't know, I've met some pretty bad people. Or, at least, used to be bad. I think he's gotten better, so actually yeah, you might be. But you sound like you like that...
Nah. He’s just over protective. [shrugs] And there may be a sort of non-serious belt notch contest going on. [raises an eyebrow] fair warning, I’m a real piece of shit, so speak now or forever hold your peace.
[nods, taking a sip from her drink after they get their orders] Huh. Do I wanna know about this "belt notch" contest? [chokes on an inhale, coughing before glancing up with a smile] Oh really? Nah, it's okay. I'm pretty sure I've met worse, just saying.
I’m sure there’s someone somewhere around that wouldn’t be happy about it. My brother for one, and then I do leave quite a few broken hearts behind me. [shrugs] So not a date works.
Wonderful. I feel so much better. [smiles, amused, before leading him to the coffeeshop] So, your brother doesn't like it when you flirt? Do you guys flirt with the same people or something?
[grins] Isn’t that what coffee dates are for? Getting to know people? I’m Jerry.
Usually the person asking knows the askee's name. [smiles wryly] I'm Sadie.
Sure, I could use some coffee. But this is not a date, alright? I'm a little afraid there's a girlfriend or boyfriend waiting to jump me.
Wanna have that practice over a cup of coffee, maybe? [smile’s a little brighter]
[pauses, lifting an eyebrow] ...Why? You don't even know my name.
[Grins a little] sounds like a good idea. Mind helping me practice my innocent face?
Sure, why not? [shrugs, her smile remaining in place] Okay, hit me.
I really, truly, don’t know why the thing blew up, because I really, truly had nothing to do with it. Check for prints if you want.
You say that, but I don't believe you. [lifts an eyebrow, smiling faintly] Might want to work on that before somebody in charge shows up.
A picture I drew of Sally, I couldn’t think of anyone who would know better if I did a good job than the pumpkin king himself.
Gorgeous! just beautiful. My, you have such artistic talent ^^
Challenge Six || Salem, MA
Sadie grew up in the historic town of Salem, Massachusetts with her parents until her mother, Mary, passed when she was 9. Her Dad, Victor, kept her home most of the time, pulling her out of school for home-schooling the year she would've gone to middle school.
Much to his annoyance, Sadie constantly rebelled against his decision to keep her cooped up, always wanting to go out and have fun for once like any regular teenager. It was worse around Halloween, when the streets came alive with the spirit of the holiday and Sadie begged her dad to go just for a little while. When he said no, she would always go to her room, slamming the door, but actually planning on going anyways.
Sneaking out for the night after she was sure Victor was asleep, she'd make her way around town to see the sights and finally enjoy herself like she wanted to. The day after Halloween, she'd apologize to her dad for her behavior and he'd accept, none the wiser.
