Carly is from London, England. Living there with her father and four siblings, she lived there for 17 years of her life. It was where she first went to school, had her first kiss, had a best friend who she did everything with. Penny, her best friend, was the person Carly misses the most but was the one thing that was hardest to sacrifice for leaving for the University. She wished she could take her with her, but it just wasn't possible.
Carly's favourite part was the Thames. There was a little dock that sat just before London Bridge, and Penny and Carly would go there almost everyday. Her siblings didn't know about it because it was their little place.
She also loved her school there as people were so much more accepting and knew who she was. Here, she has to work her way back yet she feels like she's getting no where. No friends as close as Penny, no friends who she could call up and expect to be there for her. Her siblings hardly saw her anymore, and she misses London because she saw them. She had friends, she had her family, she had her life.
Being in America is fun, but when you don't have anything to look forward to when you wake up each day, it's hard to keep positive and want to stay there. Maybe something will change soon for Carly.
Something she certainly doesn't miss are the boys of London. The city is beautiful except from the pollution and business of it, but the guys really do ruin it. And it's not just because she had a bad experience with one. It was worse than bad, but not going onto that.
Overall, Carly loves her hometown and misses it deeply; so deeply sometimes she wishes they could move back.
Coreen was born and raised in London, England. It was far too busy and noisy for her taste, but it gave her a lot of opportunities. That's why she stayed for as long as she did. She didn't really mind leaving once her magazine went under. London was no longer home to her, and it only reminded her of her failure.
