New theory!
I was thinking about how Enjin and Riyo actually met, and I've been torn between Riyo being hired to kill Enjin directly and Enjin stumbling across Riyo in the middle of a job. Then either way he talks her into coming with him. And for the longest time I couldn't figure out why someone would put a hit out on Enjin, especially if it was known that he's in the Cleaners. And as we've seen, you do not fuck with the cleaners without them coming after you.
But I finally figured it out;
I think Enjin met Riyo because he's been singlehandedly dismantling the slave markets everywhere he can find them, and they hired her to kill him because he's been freeing their slaves and turning the people running the markets over to the Hell Guard when he catches them (assuming that slavery is illegal on the Ground. It might not be, considering Enjin was planning on making money to buy his friends to free them before he became a Giver. But that also could have come from the fact that he was 13 and not a fighter by choice.)
(side note, if that's the case, the Hell Guard are PISSED bc Enjin is acting in a vigilante capacity. Because I'm assuming there ARE laws about Givers using their powers on non Givers, even if those people are breaking the law. And if slavery is legal on the Ground, Enjin is just straight up breaking the law to free anyone he finds. And beat the shit out of any owners as a nice bonus.
(BUT, a point against slavery being legal is how Amo's Mister talks about the other traffickers shunning him, and in context I assume it's because he has Amo. Though we do see people in the third episode who have the same orange and white scarves and I think Traffickers are more like general trade caravans and not human traffickers, and could be separate from the slave trade.)
Anyway, Riyo's boss (probably her dad tbh) is hired to kill Enjin, without knowing who he actually is, and they send her because he's specifically focused on freeing children. She tries to kill him without asking why they were hired, because I'm assuming at this point she just doesn't care, and Enjin talks her out of it. And then talks her into coming with him to join the Cleaners because she's a Giver and there's no age requirement for Givers.

Okay but Jimbei is like, an old pirate. Joining the Strawhats is basically his retirement job. He’s like “ugh man I’ve been doing all this political maneuvering for decades it’s so exhausting” and Luffy pops up like “wow lame wanna join my Funtime crew instead? I’ll let you punch whoever you want” and Jimbei’s like yeah. I do want that actually.
I hate One Piece because it's created this awful nightmare scenario where I'm attracted to one of the sweetest men to ever die, his emo son, and his big brother who is the worst guy you've ever met.
Chart does not reflect if Usopp was in mortal danger btw
getting scambot messages from random accounts that clearly used to be normal active blogs is sad enough. you know that there used to be a real person on that blog until they were tricked into handing their password to the digital fae.
but it's an entirely new level of tragic when somebody you've actually spoken to gets turned into a bot account. it's like peeking at a zombie apocalypse through the window and realizing one of the shambling corpses was your friend.
and then the zombie catches sight of you, lurches up to your window, and shouts through the glass that they accidentally reported your account to tumblr and you'll be deactivated unless you click this link.
RIP to the blog that used to DM me to tell me they liked my new chapters. Their last known words spoken before being turned, 17 hours ago: "Ggs!" They were praising someone's deadlift.
the message they tried to get me with is probably the same message that got them, so for anybody who hasn't already been warned about the signs of a zombie account:
if you get something like this ↑ they're gonna follow up by instructing you to contact tumblr support on discord and give you contact info; or they're gonna link a website that looks sort of like tumblr support and say you have to email them; or any variety of "you must now contact tumblr, here is how you contact tumblr."
whatever they send you, it Does Not lead to tumblr. it leads to the master zombie that bit them and inducted them into the ranks of the undead, and will bite you the second they have your email and password. i might be confusing zombies and vampires. anyway,
it's easier to fall for these messages because the blog doesn't LOOK like a bot blog, because it ISN'T a bot blog. it's a normal person's blog that got accessed by a bot, meaning the blog's content CLEARLY looks like a real active user when you click on it. and yes—it might even be a blog you already know. sometimes bots like this go down a blog's DMs or reblogs and message people they've previously interacted with.
they got one of my treasured followers, and they can get you too. don't fall for their tricks. know the signs.
Team Akuta is like, let’s put all the members with emotional instability and possible suicidal tendencies together in one group so they can all pack-bond and therefore will be less likely to kill themselves because:
1) They don’t want to make their team feel bad.
2) If there is a situation where they think there is no other option, another team member will come up and try to save them by doing something suicidal instead. The first team member will then try to save them, and those attempts will hopefully cancel each other out, I guess.
3) None of them can go evil because the team will knock their deranged member out until they calm down. If we wanna go crazy/evil/scary, it’s gotta be as a team. Get in formation, recruits.
4) Every single one of them is convinced they are the sane one keeping the group together, unless it’s their turn to wear the crash-out victim shirt. So since they all want to hold onto that perceived sanity cause they gotta keep the team together they overall crash out a lot less than they reasonably should.
5) Enjin is the only person who has the mental fortitude to deal with teenagers all day, but that's because only teens find him cool, and he desperately needs to be found as cool for his own mental health.
Follo and Zanka absolutely crashing after a long day of having inferiority complexes feat. Enjin and Gris, with Enjin taking a photo for 'posterity' or something like that.
