Well a friend of mine somehow convinced me to liveblog a "pseudo-webcomic medium-transcending clusterfuck" called Homestuck. So here I am trying to figure out what a Tumblr is. Stick around to learn more. Or don't. I'm not the boss of you. Call me by whatever pronouns feel right.

Happy Homestuck Day!

Hello everyone! Thanks for sticking around the corpse of my tumblr! (It hath risen before, and lo it shall rise once more in our hour of need!) 

Truth be told I’m rather sad, as I had hoped to rise from the grave today, jumping in fresh with more of my trademark shitty theories and rambling about unrelated topics. (Why do you people like me again?) But alas I’m running far behind on my sleep (5-6 hours a night catches up to you after a month or so yeesh) and I just found out I have to be operational tomorrow, so I can’t afford to stay up late.

I am not solely the bearer of bad news, however. In fact, this weekend I anticipate doing some actual liveblogging for once on this liveblogging tumblr! I guess the end times are nigh-er than I thought.

Anyways I’ve already spent too much time agonizing over wording today so I will sign off for now. I hope my absence has not indelibly scarred your hearts~

And yeah, uh, Happy Homestuck Day! (is that a thing people say or am I just rubbing my noobness in your collective faces?)

Heya friends and foes, I’ve been pretty silent on tumblr for a while on account of TRULY INORDINATE AMOUNTS OF SCHOOLWORK. Like, jeez some of these professors need to chill. Anyway though, I just wanted to take a moment to reassure you that I have not fallen victim to death just yet, and neither have I abandoned the oddity that is Homestuck. With luck, I may even be able to continue a bit tomorrow or the day after, but alas I can promise nothing concrete. Wish me luck! Or don’t, I guess, if you want me to cry.

I really hope school get easier for you. Maybe try getting a day planner and putting in time slots of when to work on school and when to focus on yourself. It might help to organize everything. (Sorry for any sp mistakes. I just woke up.)

Thanks for the well-wishes! I hope it does too. Found out today that I totally aced a history test I was worried about, so that’s a pleasant omen! It was all timed essays, so the stress level was truly something to behold. I’ve tried using day planners before to limited success. I have a strongly ingrained tendency to rebel against structure, even if I set it myself. This did not serve me well in high school, as you might imagine, and remains a thorn in my side to this very day. You’re right though, I should try again. Anyone with ideas they think might help should feel free to share them! (And don’t worry about spelling too much. I actually used to work with ESL students a lot, so I can deal with much worse. Besides, I don’t think you actually misspelled all that much.)

You raise an excellent point. Since infancy I’ve never needed quite as much sleep as the average person does, but I think I’ve drifted well past my threshold. I shall try to improve.

Hallo, friends and foes. I’m altogether far too tired to be writing just now, but I figured I should update you guys on my status. I remain alive, so that’s pretty neat. School has come down on me like an avalanche that somehow managed to set an ambush, stripping of most of my free time and almost all of my energy. Hopefully things will either get better or my pansy ass will toughen up and learn to live with more pain and less sleep. But that’s why I haven’t met my posting goals recently, so know that I live and that I’m still trying okay?

Homestuck Day 15 (”only one part today guys sorry jeez i’m trying my best please don’t hate me” Edition)

Hooo boooy have I had a looong week. I’m sure you guys know the feel. Anyway, let’s set real life aside where it belongs and dive back into the War of the Roses.

Okay so they’re not both named Rose. Shut up and let me have this. Besides, unless my memory is more of a sieve than usual, Mama Lalonde’s first name has yet to be revealed. I’m going to believe she’s Rose too until proven otherwise.

Semantics of my desperate humor notwithstanding, this is actually a pretty fascinating artifact. A sort of microcosmic fossil record of the Roses’ (okay, Lalondes’) unique strain of relationship. Also I bet they could sell this fridge to a modern art gallery and make millions.

Not that money is a problem, if they’re welding $15000 picture frames to refrigerators and airlifting in twenty-foot wizard statues. NOT TO MENTION LIVING IN ACTUAL FALLINGWATER

Okay so it doesn’t actually look exactly like the famous Frank Lloyd Wright house; stop with your nagging, hypothetical reader.

Welp. I have been seduced.

Oh yeah, this was happening, wasn’t it. Rose is doing all this while in mortal peril. Rose Lalonde fears not the icy grip of death! She’d probably just bludgeon the Reaper to death with her vocabulary anyway.

I’m beginning to think Rosie could use some psychoanalysis herself . . .

The Tree Modus is for the kind of person who actively dislikes convenience. Or being able to use things. Imagine if John had it. The kid would have given up on life before even leaving his room.

And with a crash of thunder fit to shake loose the stars, Mama Lalonde apparates into the room. (Like a bloody wizard.)

She seems like a more powerful cavebeast than Papa Egbert.

Rose’s face says it all, I think.

And with that cliffhanger I’ll have to leave off for tonight and maybe even sleep at some point, who knows?

In brighter news, maybe the cliffhanger will bring me scurrying back? We can hope.

Have you considered getting an ask screener? If you're not familiar with the concept, it's where someone who has read the work (in this case Homestuck) sets up a blog (which you link to from your blog) and all of your asks go to their ask box. That way your followers don't accidentally ask about spoilers, since the ask screener (proprietor of the ask blog) can check them first!

Thanks for your concern and your advice! You raise a valid point. Actually, the friend who first convinced me to start liveblogging Homestuck has been screening my asks through an awkward process where I either show him my asks directly or screenshot them without looking and email them to him. It sometimes feels a little unnecessary because he’s only caught a spoiler once I think (maybe never), but I’m scared enough of spoilers that I keep doing it! If the volume of asks I get increases substantially or it becomes too tiresome then I’ll look into getting someone to do things the more usual way, as you advise.

Homestuck Day 14 Part 3 (I Talk Only About Rose)

Yet another of my astonishing predictions fulfilled. Bow down to me, mortals!

More importantly, Rose!!!!!!

How I have missed my hilariously verbose little 13-tear old eldritch enthusiast! Let’s see what she’s up to.

On task as always, I see.

Also bloody hell I’d forgotten how committed Madre Lalonde can be. The woman’s a lunatic. Also A cavebeast. (Did you really think I had forgotten?)

It feels good to be back even for a little while. I apologize if this felt a little subpar compared to my previous installments; I’m afraid I was working some rust out of my joints, as it were.
