I Recall making a draft of this post... but it looks like I deleted it and now it's been a week and an entire new device set-up, so... yeah, next time I'll just leave my drafts where they are, i think 💀

What I DO remember is trying to make thomas's picture look as much like db cooper as possible... and that's about it ✌️😘 I was very much so having a Hartland Moment last week

To be fair to my laptop, it did make it through my whole degree and the horror that is opening one singular adobe program three years ago, but it is a BIT dramatic to cough and splutter and suffer a critical error over one word document and a firefox tab in the background... especially when I have 15 oc references to do before the end of the month...

Instead of writing more of my nonsense crossover fic i elected to comic-ify some bits to catch you (yes, you 🫵) up to speed and not create another 95k behemoth i can't keep up with. it's david rain in a situation. you understand.

Mostly unaltered from the end of book 7, I whacked him into unicorne files's 2014 (start of book 2, the hartland arc) and he does Not know how ipads work. This vexes the android greatly.

Also he's a secret agent now (kind of) and stuck teaching at the local uni until these tech guys figure out how to wake up his sleepy little dragon. This has legitimate strategic explanations but david is pretty sure it is divine punishment of some sort.

I’ve never been really good at the quintessential fandom face-claim thing (Face blind. Aphantasia. None of these characters look like Hollywood Actors, etc.) but I thought it might be a fun experiment to try and like. Photobash my own? And it Was fun! So here’s (basically) what I think the tldc cast look like (Kind of. Sort of. Close enough. Don’t hold me to it).

Photobashes are ultimately pretty transformative but it still doesn’t feel right to claim ownership of any of the imagery I used, so here’s a fuckton of links for you to peruse should you so choose! Organised by character if you’re looking for anything specific (but I was Not going to tag everything by what exactly I nicked… sorry).

I generally used one or two elements from each photo, cut them out and layered them for a basic face, then made everything greyscale. In krita, I used filter -> artistic -> index colours, and turned off the second one down (light) and changed the next one (base) to black.

I don’t know what any of that means, but it does the black and white filter thing I’ve seen people do in ibis <3, though there’s no adjusting the intensity of the values it uses so there was a lot of undoing, messing with curves, and then redoing the index filter to force some bits to shade right.

I did some photobashing at uni, but I saw this specific style on tiktok so I’m sure there’s a more in-depth tutorial out there if you want it <3 it’s fun, you should give it a go!

These are really nice as warmup/cooldowns btw 👍it’s jigsaw puzzles (I fucking love a jigsaw puzzle)

my tomodachi island is so far just tldc/uf characters and i thought The People (you lot) would like to know that david and zanna are very much so in love, david 2 (i call him that bc i like him less <3) and tam have a weird gay roomate thing going on and tam keeps falling in love with blonde women and then changing his mind (falling for a different blonde woman, then another one, and now he's into david), and jodie and liz are the most happily coupled out of the lot (i guess she decided the best way to get revenge on tam was to get with his future mother in law? and i don't like arthur so he lives in the back corner of the map down a maze... no i don't want to talk about it)

Ok what is this new horrible "feature" where any time you screenshot in tumblr it brings up the sharing interface. Girl that's for my ocd folder with 16000 images that I don't look at and is making my phone run like custard. What is the obsession with adding more "functionality" by just opening more fucking windows I have to x out of? Must the new pdf increase its users time on the website by making every action take three times the steps????
