Seeing the other holding out the application, he smiled brightly and placed it down behind the counter to give it a read over when he was on his break. “That’s how I learned to cook, by my mother and father. They were bakers in my realm and I loved it so much to where I worked full-time with them. But, as for a professional setting, I can teach you that on my own.” Robin told him, smiling to the other Fae before gesturing for him to come to the back with him. “It’s a great job! I love my work and I can’t help but enjoy making people smile with them. What kind of sweets do you like the most, Raiden?”

Raiden stepped back behind the counter with Robin and smiled up at him. “I love Chapssal Donuts, they are made of like a rice with fruit filling. Muffins are good, sticky rice cakes!” He said licking his lips thinking about the things he used to get when he was in Korea. “I really like peanut butter too, we don’t have a lot of it where I am from so when I get it here it’s a real treat. How about you?”

‘It’s not the fighting I’m worried about.” Gage said, turning back around and looking to the bartender so he could order their drinks. Fighting led to bleeding, and if Gage got caught in a mixture of blood and anger he was going to let loose that demon of his with no hope of controlling it. A white tinted drink was brought out for Raiden, along with Sangria for Gage. He dug out a small vile, quickly tapping in a few drops of liquid into his drink before tucking the vile out of sight. “That looks good.” He said with a nod towards Raiden’s glass. “I might need one of those next.”

Raiden knew blood must be hard for a vampire. He gave a nod and lifted his drink to taste it. He gave a nod and offered the drink for Gage to try. “Would you want to try it?” he asked. He was curious about what the vile had in it that Gage slipped into his Sangria but he didn’t want to push too hard. Maybe they were blood tablets to help him drink it. “So, do you like going to bars?”

“Texas Two Step, Cherry Smash, Spiced Passion…” Gage said, starting to name off a few mixed drinks he enjoyed. “Depends on if you want something fruity or sweet though. Or hell, try one of each and see which you like.” The vampire took a seat at the bar, looking over his shoulder to meet the eyes of a man wearing a torn vest and sporting a beard that could easily place him in Duck Dynasty. “Hope we didn’t land ourselves in some kind of homophobic joint.”

Raiden raised his eyebrows at the list of drinks he could try. “I think I will try the Spiced Passion,” he said with a grin. He took a seat next to Gage and looked around. Giving his shoulders a shrug he looked back at the vampire. “Who cares? You’re a vampire and I’m a faerie, it’s not like we can’t hold our own,” he said with a grin. “I don’t fight often but I know how, if I need to.”

“Drink, then walk. I’ll worry about the fact I’m becoming an alcoholic later.” Gage mused, leading the way into the bar. There was a lot of chatter, the sound of pool tables in use breaking any brief reductions in the surrounding conversations. “What do you like to drink Raiden?”

“Sounds good,” Raiden chuckled as he walked in. Bars here were different than bars back home so he was getting used to it. “Um, I like tequila, what is a good drink with that?” he asked looking up at him. Back home he didn’t drink that often so he was a little short on knowledge about alcohol. “What do you drink, Gage?”

“Yep, yep it does.” Gage said, shifting down and cutting to the left. There was a sound of a horn behind him, Gage rolling his eyes in response. “Shut up.” He muttered, pulling into the small parking lot and bringing the vehicle to a halt. “I seem to always end up at a bar when I come out. I need new hobbies.” The vampire laughed, getting out of the car and waiting for his company to tag along.

“If you don’t want to go in we can always walk around. Save on gas and I can help find the car again,” Raiden offered as he stepped out of the car and went to stand next to his new friend. He looked up at him and grinned a little. “But whatever you want, I’m just along to make a new friend.”

This, right here, is exactly why Ward normally avoids the center unless it’s strictly necessary. Sure, in recent days he’s made the trip more often, a personal attempt to claw out of the cold, angry, emotionally distant Alpha box he’s been put into by the whole of Linden. And maybe the unfamiliarity of his face that’s so prevalent is why this human has decided to pick a fight with him. He had only wanted to get a drink, sit by himself in peace, but it seems that isn’t meant to be. Drunk Dick here has decided that Ward looks like a guy who he can take in his inebriated state. He soon discovers, the moment he tries to push Ward over, that he fucked up. “Are you done?” Ward asks calmly, face a mask of annoyed patience. Drunk Dick squares his shoulders and slurs a whatever, asshole, before staggering away. Ward scowls after the human for a moment before turning to retake his seat. He looks to his right, to find anther patron staring. He sighs. “Do you have something to add?” he asks dryly, not in the mood to detour another drunk idiot.

Raiden had not been drinking when he came to bars because he wanted to know more about what they were like in Linden. But tonight he had a Margarita sitting in front of him half drank when he heard the little spat. He looked over at the towering man that didn’t budge and his mouth hung open. The wolf was not provoking the man in any way yet the man thought he could fight him it was weird. “Just, this would not really happen in Korea. Most of our bars  have booths where we sit with our friends and laugh,” he said offering the man a smile. “Did you come alone too?”

Raiden cursed in Korean. “These were new shoes...Sorry.”

“Yeah…I can’t say I’ve made friends with any of them just yet.” Gage replied, shooting Raiden an interested look before digging in his pocket for his cell phone. “Or. I could pull up the GPS.” A slide of this thumb against the screen had it lighting up, Gage’s eyes flickering from the road periodically to the phone. “Or not…” He muttered. “No service. As always.” He dropped the phone into the cup holder, sighing as he took a left at the next light, heading towards the most lit up part of the city. “Ice cream or a bar. First one I see, I’ll stop at.” He settled back in the seat and looked over at the Fae. “Do you know William by chance?”

Raiden looked at the phone and shrugged. He thought the GPS on phones were a little too slow. He could tell right now that they were heading west without even trying. When he saw the man drop the phone into the cup holder he just leaned back. “Nope, no William,” he said with a smile over at the man. “That looks like a bar,” Raiden said as he pointed to the left.

Hearing the other chuckle, Godfrey made no attempt to hide the smile that had been teasing at his lips for some time. “Nice to meet you, Raiden. I’m Godfrey.” He then chuckled at the other’s words, “Who knows? This could just be the beginning.”

“Godfrey, nice to meet you,” Raiden said looking over at the man. “God, I hope you’re wrong. I don’t like this becoming a habit,” he said with a chuckle and shaking his head. “Do people get pooped on a lot in your presence?”

“Everyone tends to be.” Gage said with a slight nod. “I was lucky enough to get help from pretty much every species in Linden when I first arrived. Here’s to hoping everyone continues to treat each other with the same decency.” Gage turned down an unfamiliar street, frowning as he looked for something worth stopping for. “I’m obviously still getting used to shit around here, so let’s hope we don’t get lost.”

“That’s good! So far it seems the wolves are the most stand-off-ish,” Raiden said with a soft sigh. He looked over at the vampire and noticed that he seemed a little lost. “If we do end up lost I can always tell which way is north by the way the wind blows,” he said with a grin. “It whispers to me which direction it’s headed in and then I can always find north. But a map might be more help,” he said rubbing the back of his head.

When he heard the other was looking for a job, Robin’s smile brightened more before he clapped his hands a few times. Digging around behind the counter, he pulled out an application and slid it over to the other. “You can go ahead and fill this out! I’m always looking for help.” He told him with a bright smile, clapping his hands again to show his excitement. “Have you ever decorated cakes before? i mean, it’s one of my biggest things. I’d also like to know what bakery you worked at before you came here, if you worked at any before at all? I just want to know where I need to start you off and if I need to teach you anything.” He asked, pulling out a baby blue ballpoint pen with little white hearts on it for the man to write with. Holding out the pen, he nodded to him to show that he wanted Raiden to take it.

Raiden smiled as the man went to get an application for him to fill out. “Oh, I’ve never worked in a bakery before. I’ve only helped my mother and grandmother out as a kid, nothing serious,” he said as he focused on writing in English instead of Korean. He bit his bottom lip as he remembered the strokes to form words. Writing was always his downfall when it came to English. Luckily it was done and over with within minutes. He grinned as he held it out for Robin to take. “I would be very excited to have a job here though. Baking and selling sweets sounds like a great job!”

“I’d love to have in any time! I’m sure if there isn’t anything you like I could probably grow it too,” he said while offering his hand. “Kitt, it’s nice to meet you too.”

“I will ask him what he’d like me to send him then,” Raiden says as he reaches out and shakes the male’s hand. “What do you enjoy growing the most of?”

“Two days, wow.” Gage said with a nod. “Seems I’m not the newest fish in the pond anymore. Liking it here so far?”

“I am liking it a lot. Not stumbled into anything that would get me in trouble so that’s a plus. Everyone has been pretty helpful too. How are you liking it here?”

Hearing how the other thought his cake was good and even those sweet words of being a decent enough baker, he couldn’t help but flit a hand in dismissal again while blush. “Oh, you’re just full of compliments. It’s so good to meet people who love sweets.” Robin told him, smiling brightly with a chuckle before moving to get the customer a glass of milk. Pouring some for them, he moved to place it onto the counter with a nod. “It’s just me, yes. I’ve been looking to hire someone but I don’t know who’s dedicated enough to spend their days with me making sweets.”

Raiden just smiled at the male before he walked off to get milk. He took the glass as soon as it was set down and took a sip of it. Sweets went very well with milk so he was glad the owner had some on hand. He perked up when he heard the baker was looking for someone to help him. “I’m looking for a job, actually,” he said smiling wide. “I could help you out!” He was so happy to have made a new friend and possibly a future employer.

“My father is Earth! I must come check out your shop sometimes, maybe buy a plant to send him, he would love that. I’m Raiden, nice to meet you.”
