MY Symptoms
Poor muscle cordination, muscle contractions, muscle weakness, lack of coordinated movement, muscle twitching, hoarse voice, difficulty walking with incordinated imbalanced walk, poor cordination, feeling like I am going to fall, stomachache with diarrhea, losing muscle control in my arms & legs, I can no longer do stairs, I am steadily declining & its getting worse, dizziness, blurred vision, tunnel vision, I have episodes where my legs & arms “won’t work”, it looks as if things are moving & jumping out at me, I have trouble getting up out of a seat, muscle pain, I can’t stand in the shower, it feels like the floor or ground is shaking if I stand or walk on it, light sensitivity, appetite is all over the place, lack of motor control in my arms & legs, lack of muscle control, word fumbling, trouble catching my breath
I guess nobody will take me seriously. Nevertheless, I have a blog out. Though I look the same/ my walking and typing seem slower Whereas, a few months or even weeks ago, no one noticed a big change, now its another story. Curbs and going down stairs are a big deal for me. I can't do stairs anymore. Moreover I can tell in "small" ways that this whatever is wrong with me is advancing. How?
I have a big problem with stairs and curbs. I went to physical therapy, occupational therapy, but they didn't do much good.
How fast does this advance? Does it ever stop or slow down?On top of everything, people are totally unsupportive to me.
Dizziness and Floating Feeling
For just over 2 years, I’ve been dealing with various symptoms, and I’m trying to figure out what’s causing them. I get a sudden “jolting” feeling in my body (kind of like when you miss a step or feel like you’re falling in your sleep and it jolts you awake). It lasted for just a second or two. I get fluctuating dizziness or that feeling you get when you’ve been on a plane or a boat all day, then you get on solid ground but still feel as if you’re moving. I also get tinnitus once in a while. I’ve not had vertigo or any spinning sensations, just the feeling of floating/swaying/rocking or general motion sickness feeling. I’ve not had any vomiting either. So far I’ve seen my regular doctor who had me get a CT scan (which showed a small lesion) and had blood drawn, which came back normal. I’ve also seen doctors for it a few times, but don’t get anywhere. My guess is that I’m having some sort of mystery Diagnose that’s causing all these symptoms. I’m 41 years old. Also, I’m writing from the U.S. If anyone has any thoughts/opinions/experiences they can share, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
My Jelly Legs
This morning I woke up from (perceived) weakness & wobbly & Jelly like legs once again. They feel shaky & weak (so do my arms) almost as though my legs won’t support me and my arms feel the same way….they feel trembly, inside (if that makes sense)….it feels as though my limbs are going to start convulsing at any minute…..I feel freaked out about it, as this symptom doesn’t make sense. It’s been going on for 2 years now.
Paresthesia
Paresthesia is the medical term for altered or abnormal sensations in the skin of which I have several, some of which are really hard to describe but I’ll try and describe it anyways.
My worst sensation is that of…………weakness & rolling at the same time. it’s more an intense sensation. It’s in my legs and arms, stomach, soles of my feet, hands, and sometimes in my scalp, buttocks, face, even my tongue. When I’m trying to tell people what it’s like I usually describe it as feeling vibrations or buzzing sensations going through me, as if I’m plugged into the electric. These days walking is tortuous because I never know when or if I am going to fall. It's not particularly restful to lie in bed every day with your whole body vibrating from an invisible current..
The electrical current continues with nerve pain, which feels like lightning bolts under my skin. It’s sharp, stinging and at times so severe it takes my breath away. I can be sitting there on my iPhone or eating a meal, when all of a sudden I’ll get zapped with vibrating sensations.
I also feel pain & cramping in my muscles.
Sometimes, I’m doing nothing but sitting in my bed playing on my smartphone when trembling sensations suddenly start on my legs & arms. Sometimes I get crawling and itching sensations as well. Other times I get Muscle twitching & jerking as well..Sometimes my legs "jump".
These alrered sensations are impossible to explain unless you’ve experienced it.To add insult to injury, I also have severe Muscle Weakness as well. It’s freakin’ disturbing to have to go through this.. And before anyone asks me again, yes I have tried drinking enough water and it had absolutely no effect on me. The cramping in my muscles has gotten worse.
I haven’t found anything which helps my paresthesia. It’s totally outside of my control and for the most part it’s just something I’ve learned to live with and block out. I very much look forward to the day, when they will find out what is causing this and they can give me a proper diagnosis and I can be at peace!
My Symptoms- Most are listed below) - trouble concentrating, lightheadedness - -Muscle weakness, weak & wobbly legs, it feels like my legs & arms are going to spaz out, stomach issues, nausea/, ADHD issues, scattered vision (it looks as if things are moving, blurred vision, joint and muscle pain, -muscle weakness -bladder problems - -heat/cold sensitivity. Paresthesia (numbness, tingling, vibrating & buzzing & vibrating sensations, rolling sensations,, ect) all throughout my body, loss of muscle cordination & strength, ataxia, There are many different symptoms. I have them everyday.
I was diagnosed with Ataxia in 2014 but I think its more than that.. My balance is worse, and I feel like i’m vibrating, I have no cordination left, & i'm getting weaker & weaker.
The Vibrating Sensation
I have started feeling like my body was "vibrating" - not spasms, or. Twitching but like there is a vibrator in my body. I feel it in my legs, stomach, arms and back and neck area. It Mostly happens when I am sleeping or relaxed, but it has happened when standing. Does not hurt - just very concerning..
presyncope
I have been living with constant CONSTANT lightheadedness & muscle weakness for the past 2 years. The symptoms started out mild then got more severe. Its a chronic problem I have.
Brain Fog
I have this problem all the time where I have trouble remembering stuff and I cannot remember names and places a lot. Or I just can't seem to find the words alot of the time. I have glitches in my memory: can't remember what I did that day or what I just had for breakfast, ect. Or I start saying something and then can't remember what I was going to say. Or I can't I find the words that I wanted to say.
Unsteadiness
I’m not sure what makes my symptoms worse or what sets them off. I only know. That they have taken a turn for the worse. I’m finding that my balance is worse and progressive. And nothing sets it off. The wierd dizziness comes from out in the middle of nowhere.
I’ve had lots of dizzy days lately & even fell in the shower a couple times.
Some days are definitely better than others as far as my health goes. Some moments are better than others.
. My symptoms crept on, gradually and then got worse. Having that happen is particularly disorienting & disconcerting. >Hopefully this blog will help enlighten people as to what I go through & how it effects my everyday life. Today I woke up & my legs felt like Jelly, all weak and wobbly,. All day they were that way. Like I said before, I never know how i’m going to feel from day to day, hour to hour or minute to minute even.
Losing Strength in Legs
Within the past month I have lost a lot of strength in my legs and I'm losing my balance all the time.
It's so bad it's a struggle to go to activities and even meals here.. I walk with a walker but I fear that I might progress to a wheelchair.
My journey with weak legs and balance issues really began as a tween and became progressively worse.
I was noted to be a late bloomer as a kid. The doctors chalked it up to Pervasive developmental Disorder. The worst symptoms didn't show up until 2 years ago.
Vertigo
Occasionally I get the feeling like everything is spinning & I have to lie very still.. information would appear to move constantly away from me and I would have to cling to my walker to keep from falling. Vertigo was something I felt as a teen. The vertigo come on suddenly.. It appears to be brought on by excitement, both the good kind and bad kind, and by stress. And by anxiety. But has occurred for no reason.
